Comments on the couch? Costing "cuddles" his job? A. Did we tank? If yes.. B. Doesnt matter how we got caught doing it, if we did it, we suffer Dont shoot the (minor part of it all) messenger here guys Could Brock McLean help us win more than 4 games in 2015, is the only question that needs to be asked here. If he spends 15 games taking hits at Casey while Stretch and ABN get 30 touches a game, so be it. If he comes in for 10 games and covers the role Trengove wouldve played, then even better. Everyone goes on about "Whatever it takes" but turns their noses up at someone who used to bleed for the club because of a few poorly timed, but entirely true comments. If brock makes us 1% better then so be it

The gallop on our young backmen
brey9186 replied to Tangled up in Red and Blue's topic in Melbourne Demons
Im actually excited to see Grimes as part of the midfield rotation, while he isnt the best at anything, he is hard at it, and his skills wont as much an issue forward of centre, especially if we have taller FWDs to bomb too -

Didnt realise the age gap of Angus either, his 2014 has been so different to most draftees, he will come in with a much wiser head on his shoulders You can really see this kid playing 200 games -
Turner and overrating players is on the list with Death and Taxes.. Shouldv'e heard the interview on SEN when Geelong chose to Father/Son Nathan Ablett instead of his 170cm and skinny son Che years back..

Collingwood probably asking for $1mil to have the opening ceremony dancers get changed at the Westpac centre

Ruined Chris Connolley? Hes the whole reason we were in the mess!! Brock Mclean just voiced an opinion, he wasnt the crooks like S,S + C!!
-
Would be our 4rd best midfielder still..

Nope, straight in the middle, hasnt got the pace or the nous yet to play off HB. Chuck him in the middle, and let BV use his skills across half back He is a footballer, excellent skills, already strong and will grow out well, and i think is 187cm, so if he grows even just a touch more hes another tall mid that roosy loves -
Yes, all day Not being at the same club as Garlett isnt going to stop them being out on the [censored] together. Id back Roos in to change any player in the AFL, being sacked and changing clubs will change most blokes anyway Brings Hardness and unpredictability to our team, only knows one way, and we could use a bloke that isnt going to mind a few cheap acts
-
Girlfriend saw him Sat night at HH in Geelong too, she only told me after we left otherwise I wouldve asked too haha
-
Offer him double what hes on, and he is PSD fodder St Kilda will take one of the GWS kids they dont trade for at Pick 1, so we get the next best available
-
If Mark Neeld convinced him to play at Melbourne, imagine what Roosy will be able to do!!

Way I see the Mitch Clark situation is the club and mitch came to an agreement to announce a "retirement" which effectively has taken any public pressure off him, at least until now "Extended leave" leaves the open a lot more open, and media/fans wouldve been questioning his recovery every 2nd week This time gave him the chance to recover from injuries, and mental recharge and give himself every chance of playing again, and if not then he gave it a crack!! Mitch's interest in football on twitter has shown how well he has been recoving mentally too i think, earlier in the year footy and MFC were never mentioned, now he comments about all the games!!
-
If you want him to teach the youngsters, hire him as a coach, and let him join in the drills.. His onfield addition might improve us 5% in 2015, but might hold back Salem/Kent/JKH from midfield time already taken up by cross, love what he bring to the club, but think he would only serve to minimise damage if we had shown more this year, and went 8ish wins, by all means

Players to target at the end of the year
brey9186 replied to JackVineyForPresident's topic in Melbourne Demons
Theres 2 options for Malceski/Frawley/Compo picks as i See it 1. Sydney play nice with Malceski and let his contract expire- Delisted free agent similar to Cross situation 2. Sydney play nice with us and we trade him for Pick 3000 - Similar to Rodan/Morton We choose to sign him as a Free Agent then we will get around 3rd round for Frawley if he decides to leave, which is hardly a fair trade -
Currently building/renovating a house in Barwon Heads for his family Will be returning to Melbourne in 2015, is filthy with Sydney for being frozen out like he is Wants to play on but depends on someone wanting him

Our first round pick this year could be valuable property. Club finishing midtable above us could be interested in our pick for theirs plus a sweetener. We learnt this year from Tyson trade that picking the best kid isnt always the best option -
Isnt the way to do it is let them have the same salary cap as everyone else, and the COLA is a % which is added onto each players salary by the AFL? That way the extra salary cap space CANNOT be used to draw in another superstar, and if the COL is actually higher, then all players benefit equally?
-
Mitch Clark is the one to go back of any of them. Big, Strong, Aggressive, get him down there with Chip and Tommy, and all of a sudden, Garland is left to play a generals role and dominate But it wont happen..
-
What would you give any of our coaches or players for xmas this year? Keep it a little light Mitch Clark a new foot? Dean Terlich a non-breakable nose? Something to make Jesse Hogan smile?
-
Name 3 players you are keen to see in 2014 and why
brey9186 replied to DeeSpencer's topic in Melbourne Demons
did you actually read the post? or just skim, because it said Dunn beat him once, and the next contest hogan nearly broke him in half. Lynden is one of the better 1v1 defenders in the comp, rarely beaten!! Hogan learnt from the first one, and made sure it wasnt going to happen again!! -
Training - Monday 16th December, 2013
brey9186 replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
Salem could be a perfect spot for a small forward this year, kicking skills are beautiful and has good ground skills. Can be eased into the midfield from here too. If the reports around kents knee are correct he wont be around much to start the year, so theres a spot there!!! -
Dean Terlich - Good player or defensive liability?
brey9186 replied to Arrow's topic in Melbourne Demons
If we can get out small defenders right with out terlich, I really can see him moving to the midfield. His pace, attacking footy and at times stupid way he hits the contest he could be a real weapon in the middle. Good breakaway pace from contests with long kicks into the triple towers will be great! If grimes, clisby and Strauss can stay fit as smaller defenders then we have lots of options -
Was David loates for a long time, but got dumped by neeld I think It was probably cameron schwab
