NAB CUP 1: NORTH MELBOURNE AND RICHMOND

Not fussed about resluts - clearly weaker side v the Tigers

4th qtr (2nd half v tigers) less upmiring involvement - liked it

Boys 1st game up - so real positiives from the new boys. Long way to go, but I am still looking forward to the real stuff....

I will throw some random obervations out there

McKenzie great off ball - terrible with ball

Sylvia - 1 dimensional - hope he can prove me wrong

Apart from that hard to take much else from the game - if you don't have love for J Hogan you are not human...

I can definately see improvement from last year. Really good effort against the Roos and we were up against fresh legs against the Tigers. Toumpas and Viney both played well and Hogan is a beast (WHY CAN'T HE PLAY THIS YEAR?)

Yep, don't want to slash my wrists just yet but it did have a familiar look. Trying to stay positive.

...knew write didn't look right, too many head knocks playing footy.

Helps if you can win the contested ball.......... we will struggle again in 2013 - boys are too young...

Expect to be beaten in the possession count - we need to convert opportunities - hopefully a strong forward line will help us win games

I have been saving it all last year and nothing suggested otherwise tonight.

He is a good scragger, while he is a regular in the 22 we are going nowhere fast.

That's the key, keeping up forward pressure...well, one key!

We showed a bit. We look quite fit and a few of our new players were quite promising. Hogan looks the goods and Viney is a real goer. Watts and Dunn were both good down back and we ran the 2nd game out well.

Attack on the ball was good and our overall endeavor was pleasing. Just need to finish better and improve our disposal. Thought our style of play was interesting - we brought the ball back into the corridor nicely and we kicked long and accurately to position on occasions.

We had a whole bunch of new players in and it will take a little while for it to all gel. We didn't let the Tigers get away from us too much. Overall - reasonably pleased. That's a good hit out.

FFS, those going a bit hard, try remember we had probably over a third of a team in both games, who had never played with the squad before in anything resembling a real game, will need more than that to blen properly.

Other than a bit of first half vs tigers, not unhappy with tonight

yeah that is what I thought as well. I couldnt see any of those guys second game. Clearly we can tell whose going to be in the side for round 1 and it will be most of the above.

HEAVEN OR HELL by The Oracle

Clashes between Melbourne and St Kilda are often described as battles between the forces of heaven and hell. However, based on recent performances, it’s hard to get excited about the forthcoming match between these two sides. It would be fair to say that, at the moment, both of these teams are in the doldrums. The Demons have become the competition’s slow starters while the Saints are not only slow to begin, they’re not doing much of a job finishing off their games either. About the only th

    THE BLOW by Whispering Jack

Narrm’s finals prospects took a crushing blow after the team’s insipid performance at Optus Stadium against a confident Waaljit Marawar in the first of its Doug Nicholls Round outings for 2024.  I use the description “crushing blow” advisedly because, although the season is not yet at it’s halfway mark, the Demons have now failed abysmally in two of their games against teams currently occupying bottom eight places on the ladder.  The manner in which these losing games were played out w

HALF FULL by KC from Casey

It was a case of the Casey Demons going into a game with a glass half full in their match up against the Brisbane Lions at Casey Fields on Saturday. As the list of injured and unavailable AFL and VFL listed players continues to grow and with Melbourne taking all three emergencies to Perth for the weekend on a “just in case” basis, its little brother was always destined to struggle. Casey was left with only eight AFL listed players from who to select their team but only two - an out-of-form

GAMEDAY: Rd 10 vs West Coast

It's Game Day and the Demons have returned to the site of their drought breaking Premiership to take on the West Coast Eagles in what could very well be a danger game for Narrm at Optus Stadium. A win and a percentage boost will keep the Dees in top four contention whilst a loss will cast doubt on the Dees flag credentials and bring them back to the pack fighting for a spot in the 8 as we fast approach the halfway point of the season.

    WARNING by William from Waalitj

As a long term resident of Waalitj Marawar, I am moved to warn my fellow Narrm fans that a  danger game awaits. The locals are no longer the easybeats who stumbled, fumbled and bumbled their way to the good fortune of gathering the number one draft pick and a generational player in Harley Reid last year. They are definitely better than they were then.   Young Harley has already proven his worth with some stellar performances for a first year kid playing among men. He’s taken hangers, k
