28 Games in six years and they would probably want a top player or a high draft pick in return; nah.

offer them a 3rd/4th rounder a Bat ect.

Not saying pay overs but would not be terrible imo, maybe frustrating if the injuries continue.

i'm amazed at the instant rejection of gumbleton on this board.

if he arrived at the dees, he'd automatically be the second most skillful tall target we have inside 50.

he has nous, he has skill, he's hungry for the ball - the only thing his injuries seem to have robbed him of is his leap. as a kid he was a hell of an aerialist. whether it's confidence to leap or an inability to do so remains to be seen.

if he's recovered from his injuries, as he would seem to be, he'd be a great pick up for the dees. let's not forget that our key forward for the second half of 2012 was a defender his entire previous career. our forward stocks are atrocious.

i realise that we probably won't get him - essendon will want pick #13, which is laughable - but i'd love to be proven wrong somehow.

How does Gumby compare to Dawes?

Who'd we prefer, assuming Gumby can stay fit.

I can't believe people are still talking about this slow broken down hack. If we drafted him I guarantee he would spend more time in the medical room than out on the field. Why do you think The Scum only want to offer him a 1 year contract for? They are not stupid & that is exactly what The MFC would be if they wasted a pick on him.

I thought he had shown he was quite good when fit robbie, he is an injury risk but if no better forward options come through i think we could do alot worse than partnering him with Clark. Can Mark and has a good size body. I thoguht he was getting the best run in recent memory this season at the Dons also. worth a thought if nothing else.

Agreed. He has shown he can play ................ its a question of fitness - and price!

To accommodate Goddard, Essendon will have salary cap issues going forward. With Daniher, Hurley Crameri and Ryder, they may regard Gumbleton as expendable

I haven't followed him closely - just what have his injuries been? If recurrent soft tissue types I agree too great a risk. If "impact" injuries then has he been unlucky? Whatever, the suggestion of straight trade for Petterd, though unlikely, would seem reasonable.

Gumby, when he has been fit he has proven he can well and truely play, he would be a great pick-up tp go along side clark! whengumby has been on the field he has made everyone else look like grasshoppers!!! he's HUGE

As others have said though we do have sellar, and towards the end of the season he seemed to be getting more confident in his body and was really starting to perform :)

Gysberts for Gumbleton would seem pretty logical to me. They are after midfielders and they're probably both worth around pick 30 in this years draft.

I would have no problems with a forward line including Clark, Pederson (Rivers compensation pick) and Gumbleton (Gysberts).

Mate who knows - it's pin the tail on the donkey wiht the HUN

in all serious though - out of Dawes, Pederson and Gumby - Gumby could be the cheapest and play the same role>?? Time weill tell... 3 weeks left

Not for a pick in the 20's tho, as the HUN suggests. thats too much. late 30's or Arriverdeci.

So this is what the war chest is for. Sticky tape to hold Gumby's body parts together.

No way any pick better than 45 could be involved in this.

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

    TRAINING: Monday 16th December 2024

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan.
