Barrack for Essendon or Carlton?

Like many Demons supporters I hate both Essendon (for thuggery and bashing Green in Grand Final) and Carlton (for too many reasons to mention).

So who do I barrack when they play this week? What result would maximise the chances that BOTH miss out on the finals?

Barrack for the Mayan prediction of the world ending on 21/12/2012, hope it was slightly off & is solely confined to purging all the evil from the MCG on Saturday.

The MCG to open up & in the words of Johnny Cash: " the father hen to call his chickens home" (only a hermaphrodite chicken-devil could've spawned these dickwits). Hopefully lead by Juddy; the prodigal Son.

Admittedly the TAB are giving out extremely long odds on this happening but it's all relative (pun intended when talking about Carlton & Essendon supporters), the odds for this occurrence would be far longer at any other clash!

So, yeah, barrack for that.

I am thinking Carlton.

Moreso because I don't mind Ratten and don't think he deserves to lose his coaching role. (That and I hate Hird, Thomson, and the Weapon!)

How could any non-Essendon person hate the Weapon? Best thing to happen to that club in years.

Got to be Carlton.

1. Any kid born between 1975 and 1980 either barracks for Essendon or hates them more than cancer.

2. Carlton won't make the 8. A win for them will torpedo Essendon's chances.

That said, I enjoyed the Bummers getting their arses handed to them in the first week of the 2009 and 2011 finals.

Collingwood

Carlton

Essendon

Hawthorn

Whenever these teams play each other we have a saying in our red-and-blue-mad household: we don't care who wins as long as they hurt each other.

As much as I hate to type this - I prefer Carlton due to draft picks.

I cannot adequately express my loathing for the above four teams via a computer screen.

I would go with Carlton too. We can at least claim the satisfaction that we shattered the bombers arrogant overconfidence and started them down their slippery slide if they miss the finals. The shocked look on their supporters was priceless.

I quite like Collingwood these days.

I like to hear why.

I see very few redeeming features.

Their arrogant president has the biggest mouth in the league.

AFLs golden child and treated like it.

Unbearable supporters.

And the list goes on........

I admire them. I wish we had a loud mouth president that promoted our club so much that you can't get away from it.

They're the golden child because they pull the most fans which means they pull the most money.

Their supporters can GaGF.

But I just like the way they play, I'm a big fan of Swan, Pendlebury and Beams, I like how every kid they bring in is ready to play AFL and makes an impact.

I'm aware this shouldn't be allowed to be posted on here, and this post will get zero 'likes', but I just don't hate Collingwood like I was brought up to do.

I also hate that so many people would rather [censored] about Collingwood than worry about their own team.

Curse you Sue! I had put this horrible tipping choice out my mind but I have enjoyed reading the above hateful and hurtful posts - all by good solid Demons supporters. As a result of an unfortunate visit to Windy Hill many years ago, I used to hate Essendon more than anyone. Now, however, since John Elliot , cardboard boxes, tanking, their general squealing, their filthy rude and arrogant supporters and Brock Mclean, I have nurtured a good healthy hatred of the scum. I wish them as much ill luck as possible.

Have to hope (I could never support) Carlton win, if only for the following reason.

Carlton make finals

Ratten keeps his job.

Malthouse not coach Carlton.

Cloke not join Mick at Carlton.

Cloke joins Neeld and Leigh Brown at MFC

MFC win 2014 flag.

Simple really.

Easy for me Carlton

I came from up Bendigo way and we were in Carlton"s zone.

Played junior football with Rod Ashmans older brother.

Always had a soft spot for Blues, was at the 1970 GF when the Blues got up against The pies

JEZZA you beauty.

If the Dees fell over tomorrow I would have trouble picking between the Blues and Hawks.

For me, support of a club is unconditional. If Melbourne fell over tomorrow, I'd take up lawn bowls ...... or something!

    FROZEN by Whispering Jack

Who would have thought?    Collingwood had a depleted side with several star players out injured, Max Gawn was in stellar form, Christian Petracca at the top of his game and Simon Goodwin was about to pull off a masterstroke in setting Alex Neal-Bullen onto him to do a fantastic job in subduing the Magpies' best player. Goody had his charges primed to respond robustly to the challenge of turning around their disappointing performance against Fremantle in Alice Springs. And if not that, t

    TURNAROUND by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons won their first game at home this year in the traditional King’s Birthday Weekend clash with Collingwood VFL on Sunday in a dramatic turnaround on recent form that breathed new life into the beleaguered club’s season. The Demons led from the start to record a 52-point victory. It was their highest score and biggest winning margin by far for the 2024 season. Under cloudy but calm conditions for Casey Fields, the home side, wearing the old Springvale guernsey as a mark of res

    BOILED LOLLIES by The Oracle

In the space of a month Melbourne has gone from chocolates to boiled lollies in terms of its standing as a candidate for the AFL premiership.  The club faces its moment of truth against a badly bruised up Collingwood at the MCG. A win will give it some respite but even then, it won’t be regarded particularly well being against an opponent carrying the burden of an injured playing list. A loss would be a disaster. The Demons have gone from a six/two win/loss ratio and a strong percentag

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an
