Howe sent straight to tribunal

By wearing protective clothing and rigorously cleaning themselves before and after touching their patients.

Unless you are wearing a full body condom you are gonna get blood on yourself if you are a nurse or a doctor. As for rigorously cleaning themselves, that would only clean off blood they already have on them. I could have scrubbed myself to the point of bleeding before touching a patient and could still get blood on my clothes from a wound.

If he did it, then ridiculous stuff from Howe, and regardless of what Buckley got, deserves to spend weeks out to think about how idiotic he was.

and you're on our side.FMD.

Just goes to prove what a weak as [censored] game this is turning in to.

A bit of blood?? FFS, and he was dobbed in as well.

Anyone would be forgiven to think that the league is rampant with disease and that the notion of blood contacting another palyers clothing (albeit delibrately) is akin to a striking assault.

Excuse me while I go and smash my head into a brick wall.

Well there we go. Someone with as little IQ as a cactus.

Deliberately smearing blood on someone is, in your opinion, acceptable. Deliberate. If Howe didn't do it deliberately then this isn't an issue. But the idea behind the charge is that he did. According to you, the game is weak because we don't tolerate the smearing of blood on people. Might as well just smear crap on them too while we're at it, right? I mean, to not do so is just weak.

You're an idiot.

Imagine all those poor doctors and nurses who get blood on their clothes all day long. How have they ever survived.

So are you.

and you're on our side.FMD.

And you.

Yes, I'm on our side. Sorry that I don't agree with the idea of smearing blood on other people.

So you couldn't just disagree? Had to make your post personally insulting to get your point across? How big was your chest when you were punching the keys out for this little beauty?

I consider Judd dislocating a blokes shoulder worthy of weeks, not the smearing of blood on someone.

Mind boggles.

Guest lambtotheslaughter

There is definitely a case for players carrying handkerchiefs from now on

Or maybe those horrible handtowels that the American quarterbacks tuck down the front of their knickerbockers

I just saw the incident for the first time, IMO he should get a reprimand of some kind and a fine but weeks for I think is a bit harsh. It was even more bizarre than Judds, I mean I'd love to be a fly on the wall and know what the hell he was thinking.

I think where Buckley's was malicious and done as a measure of payback, Howe's I think was a weird brain fart, perhaps thinking, "if they see the blood I'll have to come off".

care to enlighten. Or do cryptic comments carry some sort of mystique that you enjoy.

I think its pretty obvious. Sometimes you say some really interesting things, and other times you misfire wildly, for example by saying that censuring somebody for wiping blood on an opponent is somehow political correctness gone mad.

Yes, Howe did not intend any malice in his action, the Port player I think was looking the other way. Howe just lifted his knee and quickly dabbed it on the Port shorts.

Based on our treatment by the tribunal over the last couple of years then he is going to get 4 weeks Min.

Sylvia gets a broken jaw and broken back and no case to answer.

Well I could have just disagreed, but then you wouldn't have understood how much I find your opinion ridiculous.

Judd didn't actually dislocate his shoulder, you know. Not saying that Judd didn't deserve weeks (should have got more than 4, really), but the essence of what Judd did was that it was dangerous, stupid, intentionally done, and completely unsportsmanlike. All of which apply to Howe.

The mind boggles indeed.

Our performance on Saturday night was so anaemic that I'm just wondering where the blood came from?

Very good call!

How was Howe wiping blood on someone dangerous? I seriously cannot understand how you and others are viewing this so badly. Yeah it was silly and done in the heat of the moment but FCS.

I can't believe that you are even asking the question, but as you are, I suggest you do some reading: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blood_rule

The blood rule is largely a hang up from AIDS/HIV hysteria, when these diseases were less understood than they are now. the risks really aren't that great - vague, poorly written Wikipedia articles notwithstanding (interesting that the sports named are almost all American - land of the free, home of the hysterical)

I'm not saying that there is no risk at all, or condoning the practice of wiping your blood on other people, but unless he was intentionally rubbing his open wound on the open wound of his opponent and/or his mouth, as opposed to on the guys clothing, then it really wasn't dangerous so much as distasteful (if someone did it to me i'd probably give them a whack for their troubles, but then I am a certified sufferer of white line fever ;) )

to put this in the same league as Judd's move which obviously caused Adams a lot of pain and could have caused a serious injury is going way OTT

for the record I reckon Howe will get a week or maybe two, on the grounds of unsportsmanlike conduct/bringing the game into disrepute/whatever you want to call it

I think there are one or two blood borne diseases other than HIV, which can be transmitted via cuts or, I don't know, wiping blood on someone.

Buckley offers Howe the tribunal a helping hand:

http://www.heraldsun...o-1226433845022

Stupid act if intentional but lets wait for the evidence.

Howe gets off with a reprimand.

Side note I am having to quote anyone to add a post is anyone else having this problem?

    GALLANT by KC from Casey

The world “gallant” is not one that is readily acceptable to losing teams in our game of football so when it was used in the context of the Casey Demons’ loss to Sandringham in yesterday’s match at Casey Fields, it left a bitter taste in the mouth.  The Demons went into the game against the St Kilda affiliated Zebras with the advantage of playing on their home turf (not that this has been a major asset in 2024) and with very little else going in their favour. The Saints have close to a full

    MEANWHILE by Whispering Jack

… meanwhile, at about the same time that Narrm was putting its feet on the accelerator to obliterate the long-suffering Euro-Yroke combination, I heard someone mention in passing that Kuwarna was leading Waalitj Marawar by a whopping 46 to 1 halfway through the second quarter of their game over in Adelaide. “What is football coming to?” I asked myself.  In front of my eyes, the Demons were smashing it through the midfield, forcing turnovers and getting the footy to their forwards who w
