Changes for next week?

jumbo returns

Recommended Posts

I've posted more times tonight then in my entire time at demonland, honestly i dont believe any changes in personal will make any difference, they're not treating game day like game day, its just another chance to train on another specific thing. when a player tries to do something different and attacks the game when he should be sticking to the structure there practicing it gets brought up in game review, doesn't matter if it works out or ends up in a score against, game day is getting treated like a training drill. is this the right way to teach a team to win? i dont know, but i'll be paying my membership again next year again hoping it is, and if it's not i'll be paying again the year after hoping we get it wring in 2014. so the cycle goes on.

Maybe give them a chance to have a run and build up some cohesion without making 4 or 5 changes every week?

Not sure - just putting it out there.

I think there has to be at least two. We need to bring in one of Sellar and Martin as a second ruck. And Jurrah is injured, and a proper forward replacement is necessary - neither of those two are any good forward.

Would love to see Taggert in but he really is underdone and it would be unfair on the kid. Sometime over the next 4 to 6 weeks I would like to see Taggert, Sheahan, Davis and Cook getting a game. It's time to stop going back to the tried and true gunna's and prima donna's like Silvia and Moloney.

I think Martin will come up next week and maybe Tappy but couldn't see anyone else at the moment oh yeah forgot Couch, he has worked hard to get a run and deserves it.

Well researched post stuie , meticulous and not short on detail . I'd find room for a retired Liz Ellis but on an overall basis , it's hard to argue with your "replacement" team !

Well it would be a better skilled team.... and much harder at it than the blokes who "played" this week.

Do you have a replacement coach?

Ins

Dunn in as a permanent back

Couch in the middle, gets the ball and handballs to a player running forward, not standing still.

Spencer in as a big awkward passionate presence.

Moves

Frawley to attack, add some class, straight line leading, experience.

haha, so can I assume that if a player was dropped twice they're being sent straight to the Casey 2's? For what its worth I reckon we should really go down the WNBA path, they would strike some fear in the opposition.

Bring in Couch for Sylvia,he couldn't be any worse could he? He'd have 10 times the hunger as Sylvia.

I wouldn't play Maloney again until he re-signs,players who want to stay at their club have signed by this time of the year.

There is no future in Dunn,Bate,Bail,Joel Mac,Bartram-don't want to see them in the team again.

Would like to draft the best VFL mid again.

LIVE AND LET DIE by Meggs

The Demons’ impressive late season charge to finals will most likely come unstuck this Saturday evening when the Bombers blow up the also-ran Blues in the Ikon Park double-header.   To mangle McCartney, what does it matter to ya? To have any chance to play next week Narrm has got a job to do and needs to do it well.  We’ve got to give the Pie sheilas hell, say live and let die! It’s Indigenous Round for this game and the chance to celebrate and engage with Aboriginal and Torres

2024 Player Reviews: #35 Harry Petty

Failed to fulfill the promise of his breakout six goal effort against the Tigers in 2023 and was generally disappointing as a key forward. It remains to be seen whether Simon Goodwin will persevere with him in attack or return him to the backline where he was an important cog in the club’s 2021 premiership success. 2024 Player Reviews: #22 Blake Howes

After a bright start to the season, playing mostly in defence, Howes seemed to lose his way in midseason but fought back with some good performances at Casey and finished the year back at AFL level. One to watch in 2024. Date of Birth: 7 March 2003 Height: 191cm Games MFC 2024: 15 Career Total:  15 Goals MFC 2024: 0 Career Total:  0 Games CDFC 2024: 6 Goals CDFC 2024: 0

Originally an NBL basketballer with the Brisbane Bullets, he moved across town in 2019 to the AFL Lions where he played 19 games before crossing to Melbourne where he was expected to fill a role as a back up ruckman/key forward. Sadly, had to wrap up a great career in midstream on the back of multiple concussions which culminated in the Maynard hit in the 2023 Qualifying Final. His loss to the club was inestimable over and above his on field talent given his character and leadership qualities, all of which have been sorely missed. The son of former Demon Brownlow Medalist Shane, Taj added a further 16 games to his overall tally of games but a number were as substitute. He is slowly fitting into the team structure but without doing anything spectacular and needs to take further steps forward in 2025 for his career to progress.
