Dont want to be negative but the truth is the way we are playing see below draw & which teams can we beat?

Bulldogs- H

Saints- H

Cats- A

Hawks- H

Swans- A

Blues- H

Bombers- H

Pies- H

Bye- This will be a win!

Bulldogs and Bombers our best chances!

And to be a chance against them will need a major form improvement.

Not looking good at all.

Bulldogs and Bombers? Really? Serious?

Honestly, at the moment, it looks like a winless year and I include GWS in that as well.

Who will we beat this year? The ultimate ignominy will be losing to GWS at the G which could very well happen. And who among us could even muster the energy to boo Scully out of the stadium without feeling the ultimate irony of having the team/club validate his decision on a weekly basis.

Watched a bit of the GWS - West Coast game......dare I say it? You-know-who was outstanding. His running ability and fitness is amazing.

It's one heck of a draw, isn't it? Yikes. Pretty much all our winnable games are in the second half of the year.

you hope

Umm, no, I looked at the draw and saw them all there. I'm not hoping for anything.

I'm not saying we WILL win them. You understand the difference between "winnable games" and "games we will win", don't you?

If we spoon it...wow. Just wow.

That said, I take encouragement from Richmond a couple of years back, when the bookies paid out on them going winless IIRC and then they won six of their last seven.

What else happened that year? They got a new coach who has since got them playing a respectable brand of football and having a very promising midfield.

What do we need right now? Exactly the above.

Wrong. Not possibility. Probability.

The Chicke Little-ian attitudes that prevail on this site amaze me.

Yes. Our form is poor. Our third quarter fade-outs appalling. Our confidence shot. Our new game plan an over adjustment. Our adoption of said plan struggling. Our senior players down on form. Our injury list frustrating. But despite all of that, there WILL be weeks where we will play alot better than what we have dished up over the first three games. Sure, we look to be heading for a bottom four finish, but we sure as hell aren't going to go winless all season. When was the last time that happened? Even GC won a few last year, after some predicted they'd go winless.

Just this weekend -- Geelong went down to the Roos. The Pies had their pants pulled down. GC nearly beat the Bombers.

Shite happens! And it will happen to us.

P.S. For what it is worth, a 3 and 1/2 quarter effort next week should win it for us, and we're a chance against the Bombers, and a slim one against the Saints at the G, and by the time we meet the Pies we might just have the game plan to match them :)

Predicted 2 wins up to round 11, those wins were supposed to be Brisbane at the G and I can't remember the other one (probably Bulldogs). We won't beat them now, I don't give us a sniff, something is majorly wrong with this team. I have fallen out of love with the playing list in a major way.

We've got the coach.

The rest will come.

At least if we spoon it, we will get the first two draft picks. Or pick 1 and Viney. Maybe we should put off Jack Viney until 2013.

Yep, it's gonna take more time and we are in for some severe growing pains.

Next revelation...

We should see improvement across the board in the second half of the season.

We will beat the Pies and that will be the game that puts them into crisis mode and will be the game that will help us turn the corner.

I think we will be 2-9 after 11 rounds. Should be able to muster up a win against the Bulldogs, Saints, or Bombers, and I have a good feeling about the Pies. That being said, I'm an optimist. When an optimist picks 2 wins from 9 games you know you're in trouble...

HARVEY WALLBANGER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Absent: Salem, Windsor (word is a foot rash going around), Viney, Bowey and Kentfield Train ons: Roy George, no Culley today. MATCH SIM: Friday 7th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. Rehab: Jake Lever and Charlie Spargo running laps.  Lever was running short distances at a fast click as well as having kick to kick with a trainer. He seems unimpeded. Christian Petracca, Kade Chandler, Shane McAdam and Tom Fullarton doing non-contact kicking and handball drills on the adjacent oval.  All moving freely at pace.  I didn’

Tommy Sparrow was here last week in civvies and wearing sunnies. He didn’t train. Today he’s training but he’s wearing goggles so he’s likely got an eye injury. THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
