I remember when you ran through the Mark and cost us a grand final berth...You have repaid MFC and more...soemthing that we may never be able to give back.

No words , just tears .

I have been privileged as a Melbourne supporter to follow Jim Stynes amazing career and life in Australia since he first arrived from Ireland. His football career was unequalled, his transition from Gaelic footballer to Aussie Rules superstar winning a Brownlow medal was an enduring example of determination and achievement. His post-football life continued this achievement and inspiration.

Through every step, thought, deed and action, he has filled me with admiration. He was a great man who will be sadly missed. The world is certainly a worse place for his leaving it, but a hugely better place for having known him.

Words are insufficent to describe the sadness we all feel at losing a man who lived through deeds and actions.

Sincerest condolences to Sam and all of Jim's family and friends.

I hope his family get through this.

He helped us get through so much.

It's a sad day but we will honour the man by never forgetting what he did for troubled youth, the community, and his footy club.

He will not only live on through his family but through Reach, the MFC, and all those who he inspired in his cancer fight.

RIP Jimmy. You're a legend. You accomplished so much, and changed the world for the better. Sympathies to your family and friends and all mourning your loss.

I look around these days and have this sad sense that the people of the world are so lost; troubled souls who have forgotten the connection between us all and who get so caught up in the trivial, materialistic nature of modern man, that they are unable to appreciate the beauty of life itself. Stynes was the anti-thesis to this; he radiates so many wonderful traits, not of least kindness, compassion, dignity, selflessness, hope, and his good ol' fighting spirit. He is a man whom we can look to when we need to be reminded of what it should mean to be human. A wonderful man who will be sadly missed, but never forgotten.

I last saw Jim in September, he recognised my face but not my name (spoken to him about a dozen times over the years). We spoke for a while, for the first time ever I saw him angry. He was disgusted with the dishonesty of Tom Scully. Tom had indicated to him he was staying and Jim took him on his word. I got the impression Jim was not someone who was lied to his face very often. Simply he demanded honesty.

Just goes to show what a terrible human being he is, lying to the great man.

it's already been said that we wouldn't have a football club to follow without you.

Rest easy Jimmy.

What can I say, I had the privilege to meet you once and your jumper has pride of place in my house. My sons ask me about the jumper all the time and I tell them about the great player you were and how you became president of our club.

Now thanks to you Jim when I take them to see the Dees I can tell them boys Daddy can take you to see the Demons play because of the work done by the man in that photo and who wore that number 11 jumper.

You are gone but not forgotten, your legacy will live for ever and your heart will always beat true. Deepest sympathy to Sam, Matisse, Tiernan and all family and friends.

Thank you Bigfella and may you forever Rest in Peace

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

Demonland's own Whispering Jack was not in attendance but he kicked off proceedings with the following summary of all the Preseason Training action to date. BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
