Predictions for 2012

DemonWA

Recommended Posts

I've seen some pretty "matter of fact" / Bold statements in some of the player review threads. I thought it might be a laugh to have a designated topic where posters can make bold predictions abvout how we might gio next year and then revist down the track and see how right or wrong we were?!

My predicitons for 2012;

Jack Watts to be named in the All Australian team

Brad Green & Aaron Davey to rebound from poor seasons

Clint Bartram to be in Neelds best 22

Brad Green to keep the captainesy and have a good year.

Davey to continue his 2011 form and be delisted at season end.

Sylvia to finally have a good year and win the B&F.

Dees to finish 10th. and only get beaten by 8 goals at Geelong.

Cale Morton receives lifetime supply of spinach for Christmas. Proceeds to win the next 8 Brownlow Medals.

Tom Scully abducted by aliens (little green men, no less) before playing a game for GWS. True to his name, no-one believes it.

Sling tackles in vogue again.

Sheedy takes a swipe at Ross Lyon prior to the Fremantle v GWS 'blockbuster'

HT I can believe some of your predictions but this one

"RR and WYL to get along like a house on fire."

You have got to stay off the Coffee!

Ok it's a long shot, but anything is possible.

I'm talking about getting off the coffee....

Dees to smash GWS in our first outing, with $cully taken from the ground on a stretcher after being ironed out (legally of course :) ) by Beamer.

Nathan Jones to win the B&F after taking to Neeld like a duck to water.

Colin Sylvia close second B&F.

Liam Jurrah to have a proper breakout season, working in tandem with Wonna to bamboozle opposition defences.

Trengove and Grimes to share the Captaincy.

Green to return to form with the weight of Captain lifted from his shoulders.

Dees to finish 6th.

Pendles to come to Melbourne at seasons end, on the back of a poor season for the Pies and some gentle persuasion from our coach.

Some-one will tell us "The player have been burning over the Pre-season."

Some-one will declare that "We just didn't come out too play."

Some-one will tell us " We can still make the 8."

Jack Watts to finish 3rd in our B&F. Brent Moloney wins back to back 'Blueys'. Jonesy second.

Nathan Jones, Jack Trengove and Cale Morton to flourish under new coach Neeld.

Dees to finish 8th and win first final only to lose the next one.

Ron Barassi makes a comeback for one game v's GWS, flattens $cully and is suspended for life. We beat Sheedy's mob by 212 points to erase our name from one undesirable record.

Rodney Grinter is appointed specialist 'toughness' coach.Wants to play against GWS but his wish is declined. Knocking out coach Neeld didn't help his cause.

Sam Blease to show his true talents along with Jamie Bennell.

Max Gawn to grow 6 cms to become taller than Sandilands.

    DELUGE by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons overcame their inaccuracy and the wet inhospitable conditions to overrun the lowly Northern Bullants at Genis Steel Oval in Cramer Street, Preston on Saturday. It was an eerie feeling entering the ground that in the past hosted many VFA/VFL greats of the past including the legendary Roy Cazaly. The cold and drizzly rain and the sparse crowd were enough to make one want to escape to the nearby Preston Market and hang out there for the afternoon. In the event, the fans

    INSANITY by Whispering Jack

Somehow, the Melbourne Football Club managed it twice in the course of a week. Coach Simon Goodwin admitted it in his press conference after the loss against the Brisbane Lions in a game where his team held a four goal lead in the third term:   "In reality we went a bit safe. Big occasion, a lot of young players playing. We probably just went into our shell a bit. "There's a bit to unpack in that last quarter … whether we go into our shells a bit late in the game."   Well

    UNBACKABLE by The Oracle

They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi

    WILDCARDS by KC from Casey

Casey’s season continued to drift into helplessness on Sunday when they lost another home game by a narrow margin, this time six points, in their Round 13 clash with North Melbourne’s VFL combination. The game was in stunning contrast to their last meeting at the same venue when Casey won the VFL Wildcard Match by 101 points. Back then, their standout players were Brodie Grundy and James Jordon who are starring in the AFL with ladder leaders, the Sydney Swans (it turned out to be their last
