Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

why was lever taking the kickouts??? he is not a strong kick. bloody ludicrous. it shouldn't be anyone other than hibberd.

lewis is prone to the old shank.

I don't mind the old Bernie roost and Jetta should take more and use his agility and accurate short kick to open the game up. Agree about Lever, he can kick decently but whilst he settles in and finds form I wouldn't add kick outs.

I reckon we missed Pedo today.

With Hogan up the ground / midfield we, particularly early, didn't know where to kick. Pedo, or even Weid, if he is up to it, would give us a focus and someone for the crumbers to feed off.

We cant rely on the likes of Kent, Bugge and Garlett to be major goalkickers every week.

Backline did very well after the first 15 minutes. Barring injury I wouldn't expect a change there.

Mids were very good. Lewis is Lewis and Tyson is Tyson and we'll be the slowest team on the wings in the comp by far and short of midfield defensive pressure inside but I guess we live with it. Who's going to play on Isaac Smith? ANB the tag?

Forwards did the job and the smaller line up worked well. That said: Melksham did a lot of laps of the boundary and looked sore. Hasn't really chased hard nor has he found the goals. Think we need his height if we are going small but he's one to watch with injury. Hannan and Pedersen both options.

I will be the first to say that I haven't watched any of Hawthorn this year, so planning for their lineup is really guesswork for me.

What I will say is that Gawn is going to need someone capable of taking some of the ruck work. He was cooked by the end of the game, and needs a capable backup.

Can we find room for Pedo?

I think we go in with no change.

Apparently Vince didn't hurt his groin, it was just cramp (according to Goodwin), and with an 8 day turnaround we should be able to field the same 22 again next week.  I think in it's current form it's a pretty even side across the ground, although you would think if a Pedersen or Weideman impresses for Casey they'll go close to a call up.

Who are Hawthorns tall forwards? If Hogan’s going to play so high we need another tall . No one deserves to go out but I suspect changes to combat the team we are playing.

Roughy, Shoenmaker and Gunston

Schoenmakers out this week injured. And according to my Hawk mates (and there are a horrific number of them) one of the worst to ever pull on the poo and wee jumper.

Pencil him in for a comeback and 5 goals next week.

Theweed or pedo for next week. I’m sorry but forward line to small. I still don’t trust Bugg.

You might not trust him, but he's not being dropped after kicking 4 goals.  Would be the stiffest player in the history of the game to be dropped.

In my opinion there is a great deal of room for growth in the seniors. With a domination expected over coburg tomorrow, let's hope anyone who does put their hand up does it with a sheer force that would have got them in past any opposition.

That said, hoping hunt and brayshaw go like the clappers tomorrow, wanting a spot in the seniors. Also, please, someone kick a proper bag. If pedo (or weeds) kick 6+, then he'd be hard to knock back.

Also, I think lever will need to play tall next week, unless we think we will trounce the Hawks in the guts and have little need to defend. Their smalls are very capable of making many players look foolish.

If Hunt  fires in the magoos then he must come in to help break the lines with his explosiveness. He is a  critical part and they all have downers.

If Hogan plays up the ground although i would rather he play deep  forward then l think that Pedo needs to be in to help straighten us as a big target..

I think we were one tall forward short although we took care of the situation against a lesser side today. The Hawks is a test for us next

game and Pedo is a strong body as is Hunt. Brayshaw could be another for his silky skills as a midfielder. We will have to wait and see.

Are we really going in with Harmes as backup ruck now? Because that is seriously weird! Why not Frost?

Hawthorn’s speed is a killer. We need to cover their runners. Hunt seems like a natural but does he walk back in after 1 week?

I think we could have got caught out when Tarrant withdrew and Daw came in.

We weren't worried when Brown was to go into the ruck, because North then have no-one to kick goals, so only 1 ruck required.

Thing was Brad Scott was too stupid to use Daw as the back-up ruck and exploit the weakness.

We seem to be doing a Richmond.

1 tall forward,  1 ruckman and Shaun Grigg type to just compete.

Makes sense. Daw was not as spud-like as I had hoped. Definitely better than he was in the JLT when he stunk it up.

Mind you, some of our inside 50 entires would make any defender look like an All Australian.

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

    GAMEDAY: Rd 07 vs Richmond

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

    OOZEE by The Oracle

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh
