Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Interesting statement by Gold Coast to give GAJ another b&f just when they know he'll want a trade back to the Cattery. Only played 14 games, one was a stinker and a number of others under injury. Crap year for the club and he did play some blinders, but seriously??? Trying to push up his trade value for sure.

He polled ok elsewhere, I'm not surprised he took out his 4th B&F despite only 14 games. They were a shamozzle with no standouts bar G.Ablett.

How many you expecting to bat for Brayshaw Self ? !!    Is it 3 strikes and you're out? !

For me, my wish list is

1. Gaff or Whitfield ( both be fine)

2. Lever ( with frost signed not such a hassle)

3. Ac chee from port - 3rd or 4 th round pick

4. McKenna ( depth type player)

5. A back up ruckman

would love Kelly but very unlikely. I think we need to keep 1 round next year unless we land lever and gaff/ Whitfield.

This years 1 round draft pick to be used as trade. We need some 50 plus games, quality players of which lever and gaff/ Whitfield would be.

Be happy with that !

I also think weeds should have a big gym session next year and we see how he goes.

gaff or whitfield would be ideal but it remains to be seen whether or not they will actually leave, unlike lever, where it seems certain he's outski, and the same goes for ah chee - but like charlie cameron, he wants to go to a qld-based side apparently, but this time for opportunity to get regular games as opposed to playing closer to family

unfortunately there's no way mckenna is leaving from the bombers from my understanding, that kid is their irish jayden hunt

People place far too emphasis on 'hitting the gym' and 'bulking up' thinking that is going to increase their output and skill level.

Agree. Look at Hipwood from Brisbane. The guy is almost the skinniest key forward I've ever seen but that doesn't stop him from crashing packs, clunking marks and kicking goals.

I hope Weed works on his one-on-one work and his tank more than anything.

Hipwood was gifted games and averaged 8 disposals and 3 marks a game. Weideman would have had similar if not better stats if he played all year. His exposed form shows he has no issue crashing packs and bringing the ball to ground he just needs to get to more contests and start sticking the grabs.

It's not a rumour. It's what I would like to see happen.

  • Pick 10 + 2018 1st rounder for Lever + Crows 2017 1st (17?)
  • Crows 2017 1st + Kent for Gaff

I'd sweeten both deal with steak knives (e.g. later pick swaps - ours are earlier than theirs) if necessary.

I dont mind him at all.  Hes a total pro who knows his role.

Certainly an upgrade on Jake Spencer, and he can play forward/ruck.

He is probably a secondary target for us.  I could also see the Dogs pushing to get someone like Stef Martin as well.

If we were to, hypothetically, recruit both Trengove and Lever, does it make us a little top heavy?  Or do we let Spencer walk and Trengove becomes the back up ruckman?

I don't think so.  I'm inclined to believe that we see Frost not just as a key back but as a utility as well.  He's handy to have as a depth player, and I can't imagine that he is on huge money either.

I just wondered given we re-signed Frost and have sudden (rumoured) interest in Port's Trengove.

Oath. I have more concern with those comments when it comes to Oscar over Weed.

Weid has obvious talent and easily identifiable attributes that made him standout prior to being drafted. Which is part of why he went inside the top 10.

Oscar doesn't seem to have obvious talent nor does he possess easily identifiable attributes.

You never miss a chance do you.

For all you're in denial Oscar has played some very good footy for us.  He's not Lever, we get that, but he's got a lot of excellent attributes.

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

    OOZEE by The Oracle

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh
