Luv this site. Just wanted to take the opportunity of wishing you all a merry Christmas and a happy and successful Dee year coming up.19 points

Also Merry Xmas to anyone not on the site too… who those are I wouldn’t know so i will leave it to @Gatekeeperto send them Xmas wishes and let them know they are cared for in this community. This time of year is difficult for a number of people but also an opportunity to recharge and recover, and to rethink things. Whatever it is for you - I hope you have that in mind with your encounters the next couple of weeks. Stay safe Demonlanders rpfc Life Member (15 years)13 points

Merry xmas to everyone on the forum. Enjoy this time with family, loved ones and take some time to relax and reflect on this year. I can only hope in 2024 Clayton Oliver can turn his life around, for his sake.11 points

To All, Merry Christmas & Happy New Year The Dee's have unfinished business, and our list keeps getting better. I'm expecting a good year, where we win more than we lose. Especially wishing for, a great finals campaign, and belting Collingwood. (The QB will be a statement game, hopefully a positive one for us.) Be safe.10 points

This times 1000. First and foremost this is a workplace. Not a cool venue for members to visit every once in a while.7 points

Strangely if you actually reread what you've indicated...and overlay a more reasoned context to Caulfield you might come to realise you've shot yourself in both feet. You're entitled to your view. It's not mine7 points

Well actually he said none of those things. Roger Daltrey who got his directions mixed up, Mick Jagger who spoke about the hurricane and Peter Noone who liked Mrs. Brown’s daughter, all are in favour of the Dees new base at Caulfield Racecourse.7 points

Huge thanks to @Demonland & @Whispering_Jack for this outstanding site, plus Andy,@george_on_the_outer & @binman for our fantastic pods, and all genuine contributors to Demonland. As an ‘Interstater’ Demonland is my MFC / AFL ‘lifeblood’. Seasons greetings to all. Go Dee’s!6 points

My wife is originally Vietnamese and until just a few years ago Christmas was a non-starter over there. On the other hand, aside from childhood, Christmas has been a non-event for me for decades. Ironically, she loves it and her workplaces have all done the loot tornado complete with all the obvious re-gifting and shenanigans going on and now we have this giant pile of little presents at home which are all for her! 🎁 I got my revenge by exploiting her Christmas novice status... she began a conversation about the expected weather over the Christmas break, so I wondered out loud... "Do you think it'll rein, deer?" Second-language speakers are a licence to reuse all the awful puns.6 points

Funny people have different views on games, I was surprised on the day he won it. He turned the ball over numerous times though, his run off half back was eye catching but after re watching that game a few times I haven’t changed my mind he’d be 5th at best in my BOG that day 1. McRae - every disposal connected and set up transition. Super clean all day and composed with ball in hand 2. Boyd - best big man on the ground impacted aerial contest all day by clunking or bringing the ball to ground and impacted the scoreboard 3. Kennedy - was just a contested beast, close to the best stoppage display in a GF, virtually turned the momentum himself in the second quarter 4. Picken - kept bobbing up as half forward providing pressure and hit up option whilst also impacting the scoreboard 5. Then JJ6 points

It would be an unmitigated disaster if the club doesn't pull this off. Especially going so public with its intentions.6 points

If Salem can rediscover his 2021 form, he'll be a huge boost for the team and our chances and winning the flag. I'm praying he has an injury free pre-season.5 points

Soooo, what does the article say for those of us with paywall. Is it about his thyroid, knee, something else?4 points

Captain Tom Sparrow has a nice ring to it doesn’t it, who knows he’s a very switched on intelligent individual, he understands what we stand for and where we want to get to.4 points

Casey is not the answer Bluey. If you did a poll on the satisfaction levels for players, staff and supporters it wouldn't be over 10 per cent in support of Casey. I trust the club that they have explored every opportunity within the MCG precinct and others close to the city area. Previous boards have gotten knowhere near this stage in terms of planning and announcements, just hope it all comes to fruition. What government is going to fund us for our own stand alone facility? No way the would fund the MFC like they do with other community based clubs Cats, Dogs, Dons etc.... By the sounds of things the MRC need us in there pursuit of development $$$ for their own exploits and rejuvination of the Caulfield precinct. I just hope the MFC gets everything they want from this venture and the supporters benefit from this also.3 points

I expect it has been made public now because we're far enough into the Caulfield process that there's virtually no risk that it won't proceed. (Remember the saying I've posted before about placing targets after the arrows have landed.)3 points

They'll use Goschs when we move to Caulfield and will have state of the art facilities built into the southern stand upgrade - they've already been pushing for medical facilities such as MRI machines etc to be included, you can bet everything they've been asking for will be for Collingwood's benefit. They already basically own the Ponsford stand this will be a continuation of that.3 points

Trouble is they got $12M nearly 20 years ago to redevelop and now another $30M for further development. We have got nothing because we have been sitting on our hands, or coming up with ludicrous options like Yarra Park.... wasting time.3 points
-
Not an easy thing to deal with, especially an athlete. Still his 2021 grand final game was epic. His intercept marking an off ball pressure went un-talked but but was nearly best on ground.3 points
-
That will be a hard sell and doesn't fix the issue of a second oval. I would have thought a new facility somewhere at Yarra Bend Park would be a better bet for them ...2 points
-
It's always easy to pick holes in a decision but where would you suggest we build? The Tiges and C/wood might be community clubs but their facilities are both in the City of Melbourne and not in their communities. Maybe we should have them removed..2 points

I think the Ch 7 comentators were willing him on to be a game changing influence again when he took that grab in the 3rd qrt of the 21 GF as well, but alas ... 😔 🤣2 points

Question the provided AMW body mass of 71kg after two years in the senior gym? He’s got the body right looking fit now. An intriguing prospect has shown flashes of X factor, so the talent is there. A wiser man would say work on the consistency of your performance and opportunity comes your way.2 points

A succession of our boards' have been useless. If we had found a viable site we would have been funded like everyone else i'm sure.2 points

Kyah has a different look about him this preseason he is starting to fill out and looks like he has determination and intent. He, Will Verrall and Josh Schache should form a competent ruck combination at Casey in 2024. Providing Kyah show’s continued improvement he will be given time to develop, bringing Tom Fullarton into the club affords our young rucks time to develop under Max’s guidance.2 points

If you told me at the time we recruited Schache that we would subsequently go into a game without Petty, JVR, Melksham and BBB (with T Mac grossly out of form) and yet we still couldn’t find room for him in a depleted forward line, you’d probably wonder what the point of his recruitment was. His decent accuracy would be a welcome boost to our forward line but I’m not sure what else he brings to the table. Would be fighting with Fullerton for that potential back up ruck role next year.2 points

Criminally underused by Goodwin. Even gets dropped after a career best performance.2 points
-
Simliar situation for him as JVR early this year. Probably should have got a game for the finals, dropped after a good game against Sydney, so should be in the frame for round one. and its Sydney up there again. He looks ready to go.2 points
