Re Jessie's foot injury. I know one of the professional's at the club who were looking after his foot. Let me put to rest those who think he was faking, he very definitely had a crack in the Navicular bone. The club was grateful that it was early on and not a full fracture requiring surgery. Seriously some of the conjecture and conspiracy theories stated are way out of line.18 points

I am hesitant to post this as it is very different from what has already been posted. I have heard, from half a world away a couple of very interesting whispers with regard to Freo, MFC and Hogan. _ Melbourne prepared to deal if Hogan is happy moving and if they get the asking price. _ Hogan is not 100% sold on Freo. Not confident posting what I heard as it may get this place in trouble. _ Hogan and Freo both feel this is the last best chance to get him to move clubs but there is uncertainty both ways between Freo and Hogan. _ MFC sitting quietly waiting to see what they need to do but will not sit without a decision any longer that tomorrow. There are too many other things that nee to get done. My take on what I have heard, assuming it is correct, is that I am leaning towards Hogan staying another year and looking at another 1 year extension. I do not believe player or either club wants to go through this again next year.15 points

I do find the media chatter to be interesting. GC will get pick three in compensation for Lynch is apparently fair and what he's worth. Shiel will probably cost the Bombers this year's and next year's first round picks, which they think is a bargain for the Bombers. Melbourne are asking two first round picks for Hogan, we're dreaming, no way he's worth that, dodgy foot, attitude issues etc etc. For the record Hogan is two years younger than Lynch and has him covered in almost every statistic, so if Lynch is worth pick three then we're in no way out of line asking more than that.10 points

Jack Riewoldt kicked 10 goals 6 behinds against a Gold Coast defense led by Stephen May in round 21 this year. Riewoldt kicked 2 goals 2 behinds against Melbourne when lining up on Oscar in the ANZAC eve match.9 points

If this news is correct, it gels with what I heard. It was Jesse that was not 100%sold on Freo. Game plan, coaching and the immediate future of playing once again for a bottom quarter club.7 points

You're very keen to call out other posters' shortcomings recently, that's about the third time in as many days. A quick tour through the "Is Goodwin the right guy" thread doesn't enhance your own reputation for foresight.7 points

"Yet the club is prepared to give a fringe ruckman a four-year deal. " Geez now i know how it feels to be a Labor MP taking a hammering from an agenda driven Murdoch rag7 points

1 year extension ?? If Hogan stays put the only way this circus sideshow doesn’t reoccur next year is if he signs on for minimum 3 additional years until 2022.7 points

If it’s true this is fantastic news for our club. Teams build and grow and the shine of early picks are great but I’d take s fit Jess Hogan over an 18 year old for where we are right now.6 points

oh FFS... you mean we have to keep a 23year old CHF who's output to date matches any other KPF at his age ever......6 points

That is ridiculous. For all we know JH has made his position clear and the delays which are causing us to head to the magic 300 (having passed the miraculous 200) have nothing to do with him.6 points

It is but if you can't see what Peter Bell is trying to do I suggest you looker harder. Bell trying to keep Lachie Neale because Neale thinks the club is a shambles. Bell taking the broom to the club and removing any 'iffy' components of bad culture. Bye bye Harley B. Nat Fyfe is a questionable Captain - ask any Freo supporter. Ross the boss has zero credits in the bank. I expect he won't see out the year as head coach. Peter Bell might seem like a bit of a [censored] but the Freo faithful love him to bits and he will repay that faith.6 points

Not sure how an offer to pruess has any bearing on the asking price for hogan. Key forward who is 23, rising star winner and stacks up with any key forward ever to play at the same stage if not better 5&6 is a good deal6 points

yes pick 5 is slightly over for steven may but if it means oscar mcdonald is no longer gifted games then I'm all for it. 2 birds, 1 stone! imagine playing richmond next year with frost and oscar mcdonald pitted against tom lynch and jack riewoldt. f#$k me dead! lever is a 3rd man up defender. we need may.6 points

Well I hope he is signing an extension if he is staying cause I don’t want to go through this crap all next year. The end of the season speculation is enough.5 points

Whispers circulating that Steven has requested a trade to the Dee’s. I must stress, these are whispers only. More to come. #ETthetradebreaker.5 points

He had a crack in his Navicular that didn’t require surgery. He was filmed going into and leaving the specialist. I doubt the club, Jesse and the specialist would have staged this. That injury can be career ending, why would the club make up an injury that could possibly reduce his value if we were looking at trading him for maximum return?5 points

Just for interest, is there ever a player you have been positive about recruiting? In my observation you have dissed every opposition player we have shown interest in. Then once they arrive - alchemy!5 points

He joined on Sept 27, but he’s definitely been here before; he referred to @Fifty-5 as “old55” in another post recently, when 55 dropped the “old” years ago. I’m guessing Range Rover or poster of that type. I could probably do some sleuthing to get to the bottom of it, but I can’t really be bothered.4 points

WC. I joined to discuss the Prelim (before it was played) as I find it instructive to see what real supporters are thinking. And I consider that, unlike some groups of supporters, MFC ones are generally human and worth conversing with. I try to be fair in all posts. I think that genuine support is to be admired and abuse, trolling and derision are unacceptable. I have not and will not gloat over the prelim result or the GF, even though I am ecstatic over how the team played. Nor will I shy away from my joy over season 2018. I am aware that I am effectively a guest/visitor and it is not my place to abuse posters or the MFC. At WC, we had a number of foreign posters, (Graham Gaunt is one from MFC I remember) who were welcome under the same rules I apply to myself. I felt that the good ones added to the site and I was happy to have them there. As for Gaff I think that this has ended up reasonably well for both WC and Norf. WC get to keep an elite player and Norf get to keep the silly money they were offering. If he had gone to Norf it would have been a lose/lose. WC would have lost a top player and got rubbish compo and Norf would have tied up a huge part of their TPP on one player. When you add Polac and Hall to Gaff it would have been about $3mill per annum over just 3 players (1.0M+0.7M+1.3M). That is about 22% of your TPP on just 3 guys, which is madness for the rest of the list.4 points

Yeah ... we could get a guaranteed Jimmy Toumpas, Jarrad Grant or Jono O’Rourke! Or one of those King Bros who I’ve heard are the Next Big Things! Saberfang - we are entering a five year premiership window. We need a quality fullback. A proven fullback. They don’t grow on trees. You can’t keep building from the bottom with 18yos forever. The time has come to load up with seasoned talent for a proper crack at silverware.4 points
