I hope for the best!ย

I was filthy that we wasted a pick on Jeremy Howe in 2010. I really wanted Matthew Watson.

Stupid recruiters...ย

ย

Heโ€™s got a good physique for a semi outside player

Could be an ideal replacement for Salem in due course. Fantastic ball user, quick and outside/inside skills.

Not saying Salem is finishing anytime soon but he is spending a bit of time in 'sick bay' with injuries.

Welcome aboard the Dee train Xavier.

2 skilled left footers in 1 night

As mentioned aboveย

Looks a bit like Pendlesย

Highlights.ย  you don't expect errors highlightedย  but he has enough speed , looks for others and seems to have awareness of opponents near him. And he seems to have enough time to do it all.

Go for it !!

Highlights package on the MFC website actually reminds me of Pendles. This kid is silk.

He's a little bit quicker than Pendles.

...but does have a bit of class about him.

Takes Rivers spot in the backline for me. Will be interesting to see if we try Bowser in a different roll this year as I think Xavier and Judd will be our two preferred distributors out of defence.ย

What Lindsay said:ย โ€œSheโ€™s probably on the money - Iโ€™d rather eat than cook,โ€ Lindsay told Fox Footy after being asked about his mumโ€™s claim that he canโ€™t cook.๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ

He also said being drafted to Melbourne is a dream come true.๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘

Extract from post of 'Spirit of Norm Smith' yesterday:

"Lindsay is a player whose improvement areas are difficult to identify given he does so many things well, and has no glaring weaknesses. His best trait is arguably his ball use, credit to a raking left-foot kick when is often used to penetrate the attacking 50. He uses the ball well on the run, either wheeling away from stoppages or chaining possessions on the outside. Lindsay makes the right decisions and is largely effective in the short and long-range. ย Lindsay's kicking is perhaps at its best when lowering his eyes. He is adept at gaining quick metres and compounding them by launching the ball long, but looks so slick when darting short passes inside, down the line, or to leading targets inside 50. Either way, he generates great momentum in attacking phases either as a connective outside runner or clearance winner.

My bold above - just what we need.

ย

Is the adjective "raking" ever used for a right footer?

No it is not. A big kick of the ball for a right sided player is described as โ€˜boomingโ€™ ie he has a booming right leg.ย

Who isnt?

He's a type of pick I'm not sure we've seen for a while at the dees. I feel all our mid-picks have been absolute top echelons (Viney, Oliver, Bradshaw, petracca) so it's hard to know what to expect from him, and from the coaches in how they use him.ย

From all signs, seems like a real footballer, so should fit a few roles. IQ, can kick, up for it and ready to go. Seems a good pick.ย

  • AFLW REPORT: Port Adelaide

Well, that was a shock. The Demons 4-game unbeaten run came to a grinding halt in a tense, scrappy affair at the sunny, windy Alberton Oval, with the Power holding on for a 2-point win. The Dees had their chancesโ€”plenty of themโ€”but couldn't convert when it mattered most. Portโ€™s tackling pressure rattled the Dees, triggering a fumble frenzy and surprising lack of composure from seasoned players.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Port Adelaide

The undefeated Demons venture across the continent to the spiritual home of the Port Adelaide Football Club on Saturday afternoon for the inaugural match for premiership points between these long-historied clubs. Alberton Oval will however, be a ground familiar to our players following a practice match there last year. We lost both the game and Liv Purcell, who missed 7 home and away matches after suffering facial fractures in the dying moments of the game.

  • AFLW REPORT: Richmond

A glorious sunny afternoon with a typically strong Casey Fields breeze favouring the city end greeted this round four clash of the undefeated Narrm against the winless Tigers. Pre-match, the teams entered the ground through the Deearmyโ€™s inclusive bannerโ€”"Narrm Football Weaving Communities Together and then Warumungu/Yawuru woman and Fox Boundary Rider, Megan Waters, gave the official acknowledgement of country. Any concerns that Collingwoodโ€™s strategy of last week to discombobulate the Dees would be replicated by Ryan Ferguson and his Tigers evaporated in the second quarter when Richmond failed to use the wind advantage and Narrm scored three unanswered goals.ย

  • CASEY: Frankston

The late-season run of Casey wins was broken in their first semifinal against Frankston in a heartbreaking end at Kinetic Stadium on Saturday night that in many respects reflected their entire season. When they were bad, they committed all of the football transgressions, including poor disposal, indiscipline, an inability to exert pressure, and some terrible decision-making, as exemplified by the period in the game when they conceded nine unanswered goals from early in the second quarter until halfway through the third term. You rarely win when you do this.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecastโ€”20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze โ€” expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.
