It's actually quite fitting that he gets to play it against his childhood friend Ollie Wines. Let's hope we TEAR THEM A NEW ONE.

Grundy does not seem like the time who is confrontational. 

He basically knew his fate and therefore was happy to sit back and rock up to training and Casey until season's end.

Not giving Grundy or Gawn any of the blame for the way that partnership failed is a common mistake. Max was supposed to improve his forward craft and didn't. Grundy was supposed to improve his marking and didn't do that either.

The failure of the combo was not entirely the club's fault - I blame the two individuals just as much if not more.

Can someone explain how May could only be missing a week with fractured ribs and part of a Vertebrae? 
 

As in, wouldn’t it mean if a similar incident happens again (not improbable considering he’s got blokes jumping all over him all game), that those fractures would turn into breaks?

I don't have the medical analysis for you. But they're not going to let him play or even be in contact drills if there is any chance of re fractering anything. I think there's likely some motive of hope and/or mind games with the one game timeline. Its likely going to be more.

It also depends on the extent of the fractures. I had a friend who only had minor cracked ribs and was able to get up to play after two weeks off.

One thing is for sure, he is going to be very sore and the pain management will be an issue for 6-8 weeks. Opposition are certainly going to target him when he does come back.

Michael Hibberd was All Australian in 2017 after missing four games to start his first year at the club. It's a long season.

Trying to find info on any evolution in the Port Adelaide gamestyle,

Seems like Wines it taking more stoppages and spending less time forward which is hardly surprising or radical.

Marshall is taking a ton of marks (10 and 9) and creating many more goal assists than previous seasons, but both Marshall and Dixon have barely 50/50 goal accuracy. Maybe playing further out and taking their marks and set shots from further out?

Then again, maybe their forward stats are just skewed by the bizarre game against the Eagles. Finlayson 0.4, Dixon 3.3, Marshall 0.3, Bergman 0.3. Could and probably should have been a 100 point win despite letting West Coast score 70.

Which brings up the next point - West Coast 70 and Richmond scoring 92 despite both games being dominated by Port suggests that Port are pretty leaky defensively, and all that despite no tall forward scoring more than one goal against them.

Hard to get much of a read on them other than that, with just two games to look at and against what is basically the second-last and third-last teams (with only Collingwood below).

Did I mention only Collingwood is below then. Because Collingwood is last - clearly 0-3 is lower than 0-2.

Just recapping, Collingwood; the worst.

Thank you! I know it’s possible to get back up early, I’m more wondering what the risk factor is to something further happening. I’ve only ever chipped a finger bone so don’t have much experience with fractures.

good analysis

like us, the pear are prepared to take the game on a little more in the small sample size so far in 2024 - they're leaving the corridor more open and are getting hurt on the rebound

when they turn it over then they're away with quick kicks on the 45 and opening up space for their leading forwards

it should be an intriguing match-up of sides playing similar styles 

the big difference for them this time could be no lycett; he's one of those man mountain ruck types that gawn struggles to use his athleticism to quell

Agree we will not have a hard tag as Sparrow, Viney and ANB (when in there) are all highly disciplined and will play close to Butters and Rozee and the hyphen if he plays.

As to our lineup, I just hope Goody and his team finally realise that backing up five days requires fresh legs to win, unless you face a team on a similar five-day break.

So even though I don't expect them to play this one, both Fullarton and Kolt should be inclusions for the Adelaide game with our ageing warriors Ben Brown and T-Mac rested along with any other players that pull up sore. 

But given it has taken more than  two years for Goody  to realise that picking the smallest side in competition history is a no-no, then I don't hold out much hope for a clever overall plan for two games in five days

McAdam's time of return has gone from 2 weeks in OR to now 5 weeks after Round 3

Considering he left the Crows due to apparent mistreatment of an injury he had
