Just read the sad news that Jeff Hilton passed away this week. Was a terrific player for the Dees in 1994.

Reading the news on the St Kilda website, it sounds like he had been experiencing personal troubles in his life. Very sad.

I remember thinking he could really star for us after watching him in a practice match at Vic. Park.

He played some really good games for us, but I’d say didn’t reach his full potential.

Very sad.

Tragic to hear the terrible news about Jeff Hilton. My sincerest condolences to his family, friends, both the Saints and the Demons as well as all who knew him. 😔

He was a definitely someone I remember with his number 22# jumper when he was playing for the Demons during our finals run in 1994. Him and  Demons teammate Paul Hopgood used to look very similar with the long flowing blonde hair running around.

I remember Hilton from our terrific year in 94. Looked like stinga and wore 22 so always mixed them up. Good tough player. Sad news.

I remember Jeff as a real ‘goer’ on the footy field.  Incredibly sad to learn that he is no longer with us.
Vale Jeff.

Very sad news.

Great player to watch.

Yes, I liked watching him play, had a good yarn with him and Martin Pike one day after a match against Geelong over a couple of beers in the Redlegs bar.

Those with personal problems go and talk to someone about it.

Where was the redlegs bar?

I went to school with Joffa. He was a gun sportsman...footy, cricket, basketball.

Very sad news. Vale Jeff.

Back then I am pretty sure it was the rooms that the club now uses as Presidents Lunch rooms, in '94 it may have been the first year that the redlegs was moved from the members reserve area.

Sad news indeed. Used to always get him mixed up with Hopgood.

Terrible news for Jeff Hilton and his family and friends.

RIP  Jeff.

My first memories of Jeff was when I watched him during the Finals of him playing for Dromana when i lived in Hastings before he got recruited if my memory is correct. He was so dominant i thought this guy has to play in the Big Time. Was rapt when he finally got to the Dees. RiP Jeff.

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
