Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Loved them all but left out Hibbo's 1 v 1 win vs Lipinski (?) out of the pocket.

Think that's the quickest ive seen Hibbo run since ...

Melbourne Football Club Win GIF by Melbournefc

The crowd went nutz.

My other fav was Smithy's run down tackle of Maynard.  Could've easily tackled from behind and probs ITB but went alongside instead to make sure there was only one outcome.  Clever boy.

Underrated part of that play was Viney smashing Noble just after his hand off to Judd.

In the lead-up to Fritta's goal in the third he also bullied Adams out of the way like he wasn't even there. He had so many Jack Viney moments.

What this one.

Had Grundy kicked the goal after that it would have been the biggest lift ever. Gave me goosebumps similar to Neitz on McCabe or Whelan on Hird.

There's nothing in my view that fires you up as a fan more than when you goal straight after these moments.

We had a few like that. Thats why the Roo one was so good, young player finished off the good work.

We really got them in the physical stakes on Monday.

The pies might have been due for a loss and even the West coast factor might have played a part but a lot of teams would have notice what we did and how often the Magpie players stayed on the ground after the hit.

Their game is heavily focused on post-contest / outside. Without De Goey, they really have no-one that can dominte on the inside. As a result i think they give up a level of physicality.

For me it was watching that little receiver Daicos grub his kick in/receive and then for Fristch to hit the post. Had that gone in it would have been a back breaker!

Hunter running through WHE really did have me out of my seat. It was the moment I realised we were starting to put our game together.

Having said that, my favourite moment from the KB game did not come until earlier this week when it dawned on me that in consecutive weeks we had knocked off Carlton and Collingwood. For decades post our flag in 1964 these two lorded it over us and the competition. To send the Blues into an even bigger tailspin and to nail the Pies both within 10 days was sensational.

Now for the trifecta.

WH-E might think twice about laying another tackle, anywhere ever again after that hit!

This is the issue with the new dangerous tackle rule they're ramming through.
If you are the tackling player you cannot go in for a tackle being half hearted and gentle because the finely tuned athlete in peak physical condition with the ball is going to blast straight through you.
Luke Hodge was on SEN this morning talking about the perspective of players.
In every game there are blokes playing to stay in the team, playing for contracts, their teammates confidence etc.
Coaches place a very high priority on tackles to pressure the ball carriers into mistakes.
They are also coached to drag the players to the ground as handballs while being thrown to the ground are far harder to hit than when standing up in a tackle.

Someone asked he other day what happens in a Prelim, when they're playing for all the marbles and we find half a dozen players getting rubbed out for the GF cause they were a little bit rough.

My view is if your going to play the game gently.
You're gonna get hurt.

LEADERS OF THE PACK by The Oracle

I was asked to write a preview of this week’s Round 8 match between Melbourne and Geelong. The two clubs have a history that goes right back to the time when the game was starting to become an organised sport but it’s the present that makes the task of previewing this contest so interesting. Both clubs recently reached the pinnacle of the competition winning premiership flags in 2021 and 2022 respectively, but before the start of this season, many good judges felt their time had passed - n

    TRAINING: Monday 29th April 2024

Demonland Trackwatcher Kev Martin was on hand at Gosch's Paddock for Monday's training session and made the following observations. About 38 to 40  players down at training.  BBB walking laps.  Charlie Spargo still in rehab, doing short run throughs.  Christian Salem has full kit on and doing individual work with a trainer. He is is starting to get into some sprints. I cannot see Andy Moniz-Wakefield out there. Jack Viney and Kade Chandler have broken away from the

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f
