  1. I'll echo the sentiments about loving the podcast and really grateful to you guys for all the work you put into it. Do you guys think Kozzy needs to adjust the way he plays in terms of aggression when bumping. I love the hardness but he has to learn that if he is going to bump he can't leave the ground and he absolutely can't lift the elbow. I was hoping that the incident would be graded as low impact but the late lifting of the elbow probably ruled that out. I hope we appeal to attempt to downgrade it to low impact and maybe he can escape with a fine. By the time you read this on the air we will know whether the club will contest it. However given the new rules I doubt Kozzy will get off. It's a shame because the hit was silly and may cost us against the Lions.
  2. Shoutout to the amazing Demonland Trackwatchers in Victoria and now in South Australia. Reports from Mondays session has Chandler once again heavily strapped. He came off during the match and went down to the rooms before coming back on and completing the match. There were a few other saw bodies observed with Trac reported to not look 100%. He landed awkwardly during the game and came off for a little bit before resuming. TMac was observed with strapping and was wearing runners at training. BBB was on light duties as he has previously reported as doing for training. He's played 3 games in a row now and has a 5 day break until the next match. The May injury certainly scuttled any plans we had of nursing him through to the bye. Then there is the news that Clarry's hand will be x-rayed each week to monitor it. Similar question re: changes and managing Benny Brown so I won't repeat it other than to ask would we rest or manage anyone this week? The training report mentioned Koltyn Tholstrup being flown up. Do you reckon he could be a sneaky chance for a debut should Chin or Trac not get up? Unleash the Kolt 39
  3. Petracca was absolutely huge in this match. Some of his work out of the middle to pin point passes to JVR and Fritsch were just phenomenal. His goal off one step from just inside 50 was immense. He is an absolute bull. The Hawks chose to target Clarry, who still had a solid game, but all that did was allow Trac to get off the leash.
  4. 6. Petracca 5. Fritsch 4. Langdon 3. Neal-Bullen 2. Gawn 1. Sparrow
  5. Our forward line seemed more functional with Ben Brown in it. Not only in the 50m arc but taking marks up the line too. We simply don't get that same thing from Schache. Having said that he seems to be being held together with tape and it might only be a matter of time before his knee blows. hopefully not soon. I understand he doesn't do much training in particular the contact stuff. Can he play the entire season because I would love to have him come finals? What should our plan for nursing Big Benny Brown through the season?
  6. We simply should not consider dropping Sparrow. Didn't have the greatest of games this week but you don't through the baby out with the bathwater. Also don't drink bathwater
  7. 6. Oliver 5. Gawn 4. May 3. McDonald 2. Chandler 1. Billings
  8. Thanks for the training report and comments @kev martin
  9. How did the panel see the games of our debutants, Windsor and Howes? And also Billings once he was subbed in?
  10. This is the first time the Dees have played back to back games at the Sydney Cricket Ground since 2001/2002. Unless I make a rare trip to Melbourne these days I don't get to see my Demons play live very often so I am pumped for this game. Sitting with the corporates this time so I'll be the loudest one in my section. Most of my colleagues have zero idea about footy. Could get ugly. Go Dees.
  11. Surprised that there hasn't been more hype surrounding the Rematch of the Century in Gawn vs Grundy. Who wins the battle?
  12. My question is for @binman and hopefully he can find the stats from this game but that will probably be difficult. We seemed to get murdered on the Turnover today. It seemed that a lot of their scores were generated on the Turnover. We on the other hand could not capitalise on our Turnovers. Any insights would be greatly appreciated.
  13. Did Max come off at halftime injured? Just prior to halftime he gave away a free in a ruck contest and was clutching his wrist. He played out the quarter but didn't come back on. We lose Max and the season is as good as toast.
  14. Excited to see the new boys Kolt & Windsor show their wares. I expect that we will see Laurie play in the guts for a large chunk of the game.
  15. Welcome back guys, albeit briefly. Really appreciate the podcasts during the season. It's evident that a lot of hard work and preparation goes into it so thanks for that. In regards to our draft picks; What did you make of our selections in particular passing on Daniel Curtin and what are the panels thoughts on drafting for needs vs drafting for best available? Andy I know you asked Jason Taylor this exact question in your excellent interview with him but I'd love to hear what you guys think.
  16. Shoutout to one of my new favourite players this season Trent Rivers. He has taken his game to another level this season and will make a real impact with his run and booming kicks out of defence.
  17. Really enjoying the Podcast fellas. Love the different perspectives that you all bring as well as the commentary and questions from the audience. It really does cover the whole gamut of each game with a good cross section of the Demon voices. But I digress. Do you think we might see the return of Spargo to the team possibly replacing JJ? I really think we miss the pressure that he brings in that high half forward role (thanks Binman) and he is an elite user of the ball by foot. I just wish he got more of the pill. Hopefully those 28 possies in the 2s this week can rub off on his game in the seniors.
  18. Another cracking poddie last week guys. Seems we've learned some learnings from 2022 and rested the bulls and Max in the last with them all spending about the last 8 to 10 minutes on the bench. I was pretty happy with that despite the fact that it could cost Trac a Brownlow vote or two. Thoughts?
  19. Jack Viney has been sublime in the past month, in fact, since Clarry has been absent. Possibly his best block of footy he has played at the club. He has been instrumental in willing us to win with his never say die Demon Spirit. He would have to at the very least be a consideration for the All Australian Squad. Very underrated in the wider AFL community, media and supporters.
  20. I thought Tommo had a fantastic first quarter today. Selection will be interesting particularly if Petty is available. Hibberd too. Does Tommo hold his spot? Could you see Petty being tried forward again and Tommo keeping his spot?
  21. 6. Viney 5. Brayshaw 4. Gawn 3. Pickett 2. Chandler 1. Rivers
  22. Excellent Podcast again fellas. Absolutely loved it. @binman was this the scoreworm you were referring to?
  23. What a Herculean effort from Max Gawn!!! I read that it was the highest ranked game of his career. 29 Disposals, 21 Contested, 39 Hitouts, 17 Hitouts to Advantage, 10 Clearances, 7 Tackles & 1 Goal. It can’t be a coincidence that this return to form coincided with Brodie Grundy‘s axing. Can I get the panels thoughts on the dropping of Brodie Grundy and what that means for him in 2023 and also if Max is to go solo for a few weeks how do we manage it in terms of Max’s career longevity? I don’t want to burn Rooey out by playing him 2nd ruck so early in his career.
  24. JVR please. Would love to see Brown and Roo in the same forward line for a few weeks.
