Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

I think I’m over booing. Even for umpires. I never feel good after it.

Same as like during the last quarter against Port when I threw my phone at the couch and it bounced and crashed into my favourite coffee mug and broke it and my chihuahua looked at me fearful and wide-eyed never having seen such a thing.

Time to rein in the crazy.

What history? I've been to almost all Melbourne games over the last 30 years. Stop attacking one of your own.

You have a different view to me which is fair enough. That doesn't warrant attacking me - grow up.

I don't boo players, only umpires. But if I did boo I would boo but I won't be booing because I don't boo.

Sorry but I do boo players who commit low acts, especially behind the ball.

I think I will just shout DOG! Whenever Jackson gets near the ball.

You're either with us or against us, so "DOG" is completely appropriate in my view.

Yes of course.  He was one of us, chose to leave when we wanted him to stay (misled the MFC during the process) so he is now the ‘enemy’. Simple as that (Only for the first couple of games at best)

To give some perspective I also tend to boo umpires when they stuff things up, opposition players that purposely hurt one of our players, etc etc. It’s footy, it’s me.

To give further perspective, I wouldn’t boo Horne Francis (he didn’t stuff us around), nor would I boo say Hunt who went to WC, or Weidman who went to Essendon -(both the players and club were above board in discussions / outcomes).

Bit like religion really. I respect whatever you choose to believe or not believe in, just don’t try and convert me. Same for booing and not booing.

This has really sparked my interest.

What happened that Scully was to become the only player in the history of the AFL who was obligated to announce his intentions mid year to change clubs.

It's amazing that a 19 year old kid at the time (Scully) still triggers a lot of outdated individuals on here.

Kid accepts a huge salary upgrade so that he can set up his future financially.

Didn't know this was a sin..

He could not of possibly said no. Right place right time for him.

No one on the planet was entitled to know his intentions mid year. Its the way the AFL works.

It's the way most workplaces work. Very few employees let their employer know they are looking elsewhere for a job.

There's booing and there's booing.

Booing Wacko Jacko is fair game unless it spurs him on, but only for one game.

Booing Oskar Baker was embarrassing and pathetic.

I certainly won't be booing the Weed but am expecting the filth to boo Grundy on KB

Just voted and it confirmed what I knew: that the vast majority of us wont. Unlike other clubs                  ( particulaparticularly crows, power, eagles and lions), we are above such neanderthal tactics.

Disclaimer.  Umpires not included.

I won't boo but there is a place for booing in football. If Jackson commits a stupid act and knocks out one of our guys or partakes in some roughing up of Max he will be booed accordingly.

If he doesn't then there will be no booing.

I can't bring myself to Boo Dogga. I loathe the fact that he left us after 3 years of development and would only deal with a club who didn't have the best currency available in the state he wanted to return to. However the flag that he helped deliver and the feelings that that brought me outweighs the feelings that I have for him ditching us.

Had we not won the flag and he left it would be Boo city.

I loved having Dogga at the MFC. He reminds me of my puppy. Slightly crazy and unco at times, but happy to be alive and in the moment.

I hope he plays well, but we win.

Then I can focus any negative energy on Cripps, the Daicos media storm, and the entire city of Geelong.

    CENTIMETRES by Whispering Jack

Our game is one where the result is often decided by centimetres; the touch of a fingernail, a split-second decision made by a player or official, the angle of vision or the random movement of an oblong ball in flight or in its bounce and trajectory. There is one habit that Melbourne seems to have developed of late in its games against Carlton which is that the Demons keep finding themselves on the wrong end of the stick in terms of the fine line in close games at times when centimetres mak

    MELBOURNE BUSINESS by The Oracle

In days of old, this week’s Thursday night AFL match up between the Demons and the Blues would be framed on the basis of the need to redress the fact that Carlton “stole” last year’s semi final away from Melbourne and with it, their hopes for the premiership.  A hot gospelling coach might point out to his charges that they were the better team on the night in all facets and that poor kicking for goal and a couple of lapses at the death cost them what was rightfully theirs. Moreover, now was

UNDER THE PUMP by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons have been left languishing near the bottom of the VFL table after suffering a 32-point defeat at the hands of stand alone club Williamstown at Casey Fields on Sunday. The Demons suffered a major setback before the game even started when AFL listed players Ben Brown, Marty Hore and Josh Schache were withdrawn from the selected side. Only Schache was confirmed as an injury replacement, the other two held over as possible injury replacements for Melbourne’s Thursday night fixt

THE MEANING OF FOOTY by Whispering Jack

Throughout history various philosophers have grappled with the meaning of life. Aristotle, Aquinas, Kant, Nietzsche, Schopenhauer and a multitude of authors of diverse religious texts all tried. As society became more complex, the question became attached to specific endeavours in life even including sporting pursuits where such questions arose among our game’s commentariat as, “what is the meaning of football”? Melbourne coach Simon Goodwin must be tired of dealing with such a dilemma but,
