We know that

We should be complaining about the inconsistencies through the media

Yes, indeed. And Butler strikes Hibberd, another fine. What total utter biased fullkrap. Christian is a biased autocrat - an Oligarch- who needs to be dethroned.

I think he just super dumb.

I would imagine there must be video of the full incident, or otherwise Christian would be an id-ot to charge Sparrow, oh wait a minute.

I wouldn't stress yourself out too much over comparing tackle actions. I'm sure there were at least 12 very similar ones in the Round but for whatever reason they've picked this one as the example.

Cop the week, move on. Bigger fish to fry.

Agreed but you might want to say that to a stack of other posts as well Steve that aren't on topic

Okay. Listen up everyone (including you McQueen).

Stop posting about how Sparrow is a better player than Jordon and vice versa.

I reckon the swinging action is what got him because Day couldn’t protect himself and his head was always going to hit the ground.
Don’t think we contest. Sparrow could probably use a week off to refresh.

Should take him to Adelaide anyway to catch up with his family.

huh, day had both arms free

sparrow tackled him from underneath and was already on the deck, where else was day going to land

doesn't even look like a typical sling tackle and no double action

days pace and momentum was why he hit the deck

incidental football action ... sheez

Not even sure Day's head hit the ground. Looks like one plucked from the MRO's date.

Mate come on..

You can clearly see now he's slung around with such momentum that he doesnt even have time to protect himself hence he's smacked his head hard on the ground.

It's easily a 1 week suspension.

Getting to the stage where you can't risk tackling with momentum.  How are the players meant to know what to do? you can't let go of the bloke until he is down and if you tackle too lightly and he gets away you might get dropped. And obviously you cant risk a bump

in a few years time players will end up corralling blokes and they will have officially turned the game into Netball

This is why @The heart beats trueis the only poster I follow. His posts are either funny af and/or exactly my views. Except for that one time I told him I like romantic walks on the beach and candlelit dinners for two (I don’t really, it was for the purpose of the topic) and he totally knocked me back with the reason being candles are dangerous, they can result in fires. Couldn’t even afford me the dignity of a less lame excuse. 😭😭😭

My less lame excuse is that I’m gayer than Christmas morning. I was worried our romantic candlelit dinner would get awkward when I turned up in a kaftan with my ‘emotional support Maltese terrier’, and the penny finally dropped for you. 😘

It will be, but the sling is initiated by Day, feeling pressure behind him and rather than kicking or handballing to the ruck who’s running free, Day (who’s had plenty of prior) raises his arms and spins 180 degrees attempting to burst through a tackle from behind and leaves Sparrow who’s locked on his hips with little option. The league will say Sparrow has a duty to lower him softly and they’ll win, even though that’s nearly impossible to do.

It’s pretty crazy to me that a skinny young player like Day has immunity to attempt to shred a tackle and doesn’t have the strength to protect his head at the end of it.

If we’re really keen to stamp out all dangerous tackles and head knocks then the MRP should start issuing statements on both players involved.

Surely the issue here is Sparrow's momentum and Day's reaction. Players are told to tackle - it's part of the contact sport known as AFL football. Players who don't get spurned by their coaches and fellow players. Had Sparrow pinned his arms then you have a case. The fact is, he legally tackled him by the waist, Day's arms were free: the end result was as much to do with Day's reaction as Sparrow's tackle....

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
