3.12am and I can't sleep - and the Gameday thread is already up!  Gotta love Demonland!

Go Dees - get the job done and the remaining games will look a whole lot less formidable!

Confident going into this.

The key focus over the week would have been defence and pressure!

If ever there was a season defining game it would be this.

Win or lose, It might be season defining for both teams, if it's an epic tussle that proves Freo (and us) have very strong premiership credentials.

It would be awesome to smash them and begin a campaign of demolition again, but the neutral in me kind of wants an epic match of the year contest where both clubs play a brand of ruthless defensive pressure to the death, that makes Geelong and their media sycophants [censored] themselves about another prelim disappointment. Carn the Doggies at GMHBA too!

I’m bizarrely confident about tonight’s game although I could sleep much.

Only 14 hours til first (recalled) bounce!

I want to see pressure, intensity and desperation. A return to our 2021 brand

And some inside F50 tackles please

The march to the flag starts tonight

I'm buoyed by the news of Brayshaw's re-signing and hope the players have had a similar boost.

With no evidence at all to back me up, I just feel that a corner has been turned and we'll win tonight in the first step towards a strong finals run.

That first line says it all. Bring that, and we win this and it sets us up for the next 3. If we don't, then it says a lot about our chances from here.

Odds watch.

Opened 1.90 equal favs, which seemed fair enough given the form lines of both sides, the relative ladder positions and the fact the game is on freo's home deck. And surely no-one would be keen to trust us with their money given we are apparently not hungry or ruthless enough

Into 1.86 soon after.

Into 1.80 by Tuesday (even after it was announced bb wasn't playing).

Into 1.77 on Wednesday.

Remarkably, on game day, now into 1.72.

The weather might be a factor, but today's forecast is that whilst plenty of rain will fall today, and so the ground will be slippery, it will clear by the arvo.

I wonder if Lobb is going to be late out?

May drift, but unlikely to get into anything shorter than 1.80.

The pros must really think we will magically rediscover our 'hunger'.

Because being people who make a living out of punting by being hard nosed, unemotional realists put a lot of stock in such nebulous concepts.

Thought I'd randomly check weather radar. Wet deck on a dodgy ground that recently had turf changed.

What could go wrong.

Pros must believe we will suddenly remember how to pressure, run both ways, be sharper with skills, be mentally more ruthless, have greater inside 50 connection. Can’t think of any other factors :))

Play well Demons and lets get a much needed win - if we are to really challenge and go back to back this is the game we need to win

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator attended training out at Casey Fields to bring you the following observations from Preseason Training. GATOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS There were 5 in the main rehab group, namely Gawn, Petracca, Fullarton, Woewodin and Lever.  Laurie was running laps by himself, as was Jefferson.  Chandler, as has been reported, had his arm in a sling.  Lindsay did a bit of lap running later on. Some of the ''rehab 5'' participated in non contact drills and b

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov
