Soft  @demon3165? Maybe some people in this world are just sick of constantly being on the receiving end

of blatant untruths and prejudice because of where they live,  from people who should know better.

Refer the email signed by the Chairman dated 14 Jan 2021

You mean the email written by a past chair who is no longer on the board?

I've had to look up that email, and I found it.  I agree,  this is one that could push the barrel as to what could be allowable.  Bartlett, though, is no longer on the board.

Now that's the way the minority want it, so the football world that says if want to be a pie supporter you have to have no teeth, bomber supporters all take drugs, demon supporters go to the snow after round two etc, so we should all stop that, the world has gone mad and people are losing their sense of humour, and humour is what this country was built on....

As WCW has said you know Kate Roffey and it's understandable that you defend her and the Board

Same could be said about you and Peter.

can't believe people seriously have a problem with the need for 20 members for nomination

other than to be just frivolous or vexatious

...and if I might ask. Why the need to raise nominations to 20 members?

There hasn't been a rush on members nominating for the board in recent times has there?

So why?

It just seemed to be pointless.

I have lived and taught in and around Moe for 50 years,   raising a large family,   among many other MCC and MFC members,

and I thoroughly resent and reject Ms Roffey's slur,  and lazy stereotyping of a wonderful community.

It was a play on words that rhyme - you might as well see it as a slur on everyone called Joe. Moe's misfortune here is that it's one of the very few place names that rhymes with personal names. Having said that, Ray from Yea or Margot from Dargo might have worked in the same context.

Oh OK

It was the last guy....

Therefore, no one will ever stretch the bounds again... Thank God for that!

I guess I'm fine then making it harder for individuals to nominate for the Board, and strengthening the Board powers through Nominations sub committee 🙄  (to solve a problem that doesn't exist)

I'd really like to find something frivolous to be offended about so I could add my input to this thread.

I think your reaction of the face palm on this comment was childish.

Can you tell me why the needed to raise the nomination limit to 20 members?

It doesn't make any sense to me...but I guess you're happy to go along with whatever the board put up.

I mean it's not a big deal, but if not then why?

They can put it up even more , I don't care. As someone else said if you can't get 20 or more people to back your nomination it most likely is a waste of time. I have never just gone along with whatever the board put up, from 1983 until 2014, I have many heated talks with various board members, just because I don't bag the coaches or footy department on here do not make the mistake that I have happily accepted the plight of the club since 1964.

I get to the games a couple of hours before game time and seek out board members especially, to voice my concerns face to face.

Yep, I know you don't bag them on here and probably have mistaken that at times for going along with the status quo.

I also know you are a passionate supporter....

The noms I still don't get but anyway it is what it is and we move on to what should be a successful 2023...

Because under most constitutions you need a certain percentage of members of the membership to set these types of actions in motion.

Strange example you used of the training session roping off supporters at Gosche's Paddock.  Hello, COVID.

Roped off area for the directors was a feature of the “come on down, fans” training sessions before COVID. It’s something that I didn’t like, and has stuck in my memory.

As some have noted, this thread is devoid of humour and so I feel compelled to inject my own feeble contribution.

Do you own a pair of moccasins and are you likely to wear them in public?

Are you a MCC member?

Is the reason you are sick of being on the receiving end more associated with you being a teacher (sorry that wasn't funny).

Please, please tell me you're not thinking of becoming a postal worker?

have you rung or written to the club asking them why there was a roped off area for staff? If the reason doesn't sit well with you then you could submit a complaint

whining on here is probably not going to get you an answer or a resolution

I would say it is guaranteed not to DC.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
