Lever says:  No!  Over may my dead body!!

Edit:  Changed 'may' to 'my' - bit of a difference eh, seeing we have Steven May in the team 😐

Wont be the Lions with their 3 tall forwards.

Don't think Blues either with their 3 tall forwards.

Can't see it being us, with LJ and Gus to re-contract and Weid and JVR outside the best 22 atm.

I think the Dogs, Swans, Dockers and Cats, if Hawkins has indicated he is retiring, are the main chances, if it is indeed true.

If i was picking one, I would say the Dogs have the biggest need.

SEN just posted this about McStay, so maybe Brisbane covering their bases?

https://www.sen.com.au/news/2022/05/27/collingwood-among-victorian-clubs-trying-to-lure-brisbane-key-forward/

Unrestricted free agent McStay would command a five-year deal in the vicinity of $600,000 a year at the Pies or another suitor given his growing presence and the demand for big forwards.

The Lions’ deep playing list means they can’t meet that financial bar, but McStay loves life in Brisbane, has a sense of loyalty and in an ideal world would stay at the Gabba.

Is there really another team in the premiership window aside from us?  Maybe a finals window

Saints are like flies on [censored] when it comes to other clubs' flotsam & jetsam. They're also deluded enough to think they could snag a flag in the next two years whilst we're on the scene. My money is on them.

I actually thought Saints too, as Tex would replace Membrey as their second tall after King, and add a lot of potency to their forward half as a result, with Membrey a capable 3rd tall.

He'd be really good in a top team. Beautiful field kick.

Essendon are the only other team that meet the first criteria but even they are not daft enough to think they're in a premiership window. Despite what Mick Malthouse might think.

There is no doubt that even at 32 he is still a good player who could add plenty to a side.

Sadly he is a cultural cancer and a [censored] of the highest order.

Dunno about that Jaded. Sure, he made a mistake & has had to own it & live with it but this is also the same bloke who pulled his club together after the horrific murder of their coach.

Ticks & crosses.

Agree with the first bit. Still a bloody good player & would rip it up in a good team

Tex is a gun, and as highly as he is rated, I personally believe he remains undervalued by many. I love watching him play, his kicking is sublime, and he leads inside F50 with power and intention.

Yes, he is a (insert derisive foul word of choice here) and his abhorrent actions have been rightly called out with relevant punishments applied. His character has some question marks, especially considering he was the captain of the club. But he is not the first great footballer to be a faulty human being without  emotional intelligence  - Leigh Matthews, John Nichols and Wayne Carey spring to mind, but there have been many more.

But no way does he come to the Dees. With BBB, TMac and Fritsch so difficult to match up on, and also Weid and JVR in the wings there is simply no need. He is a Crows man through and through and cannot see him leaving.

He can still play. Look at the goals he kicked in Ballarat a few weeks ago and as Jaded said his field kicking can be elite.
Is he on the outer because the Croms don’t want him? Or Is it his manoeuvring?

Define “premiership window”

How long is this premiership window?

Carlton or Brisbane with an outside chance of North

Sounds like Norf list management.  Sell off a proven goal kicker who becomes a Premiership FF, then pick up an older one with cultural baggage.

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator attended training out at Casey Fields to bring you the following observations from Preseason Training. GATOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS There were 5 in the main rehab group, namely Gawn, Petracca, Fullarton, Woewodin and Lever.  Laurie was running laps by himself, as was Jefferson.  Chandler, as has been reported, had his arm in a sling.  Lindsay did a bit of lap running later on. Some of the ''rehab 5'' participated in non contact drills and b

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

    TRAINING: Monday 16th December 2024

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan.
