Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

the obvious one is freo with lobb likely to look eastwards again and the crab not getting much luck with his body. however i wouldn't be opposed to seeing him at melbourne. he improves our side, simply. he's a better forward than tmac and a different type still to dogga and [censored] brown and as an older player flag hunting he won't ask for buckets of cash. i also back in our culture on connectedness to indigenous australia to teach him a thing or two which will be good for everybody

It was confirmed on SEN that Gold Coast have contacted Tex Walker. But how you can define them as in the Premiership Window, I don’t know.

I’m torn about this. If it was about pure skill  and impact. He is what we need right now as we don’t have time to wait for JVR or others to develop. Walker is a great CHF. Does he have it in him for another 1-2 years? He would be pretty cheap too I’d imagine

it’s his history and character that could destabilise our culture. The stuff he said to Lever can be worked through but his recent indiscretions and racist remarks is a bit harder to swallow. But everyone deserves a second chance.

If he is after a final Contract, that may take him deep into September, he has to behave, otherwise he is out the door. I would make it very easy to understand

Lever, May, Pickett etc say no.

Who were the 2 Adelaide Players who refused to talk to each other a few years back?
Andrew Mcleod and…?

It is not mandatory to love all of ones workmates.

Walker is worth considering

He still takes strong narks and kicks clutch goals

And Melbourne go back to back! And up on the podium now to collect his medal, is Melbourne premiership hero, Taylor Walker!!!!

I realise you're only being serious*, but there are problems with this scenario.

1.  He can't play for us this year so won't be part of 2022's back to back.

2.  If he plays in our 2023 premiership team, we would have gone back to back to back.

3.  If we don't win it this year but go back to back in 2023 and 2024, Tex will be about 45 years old by then.

It's all too difficult to envisage and therefore unlikely for mine.

* This post is equally as serious.

Not a great example to use!

The 2006 crows should have won the flag that year but self imploded.  They were 1st on the ladder when the McLeod/Edwards feud exploded and then lost something like 5  games in a row and just managed to keep 2nd spot with a win in the final game (against who else but us!). Then they crashed out in a home preliminary final.

Not saying having players that hate each other  was the cause but it sure didn’t help judging by how quickly that season went south when the feud went public (it got worse post season and in 2007).

Culture is everything. This is not the early 2000s.
It is vitally important that whoever comes into the club fits into the culture. Walker might be a good player but he would be a poor cultural fit.

A club which just renamed itself after its indigenous name is not going to go after a guy who was banned for a racial slur.

He just might be a good boy living in Melbourne. I am not advocating we get him, but it should be looked at very seriously. Walker kicks big goals, and our forward line is far from settled

I don’t thnk Mcleod and Edwards were the reason the Croms choked. They did it more than once. I often worked with people I didn’t like, but particularly during Live Shows i still respected what their role was and did my part in the chain

This is spot on. Him in his current or last years form, BB and Bailey in the same forward line. Try stopping that.

On the flip side… I think Roos’ no [censored] policy also set us on the right path.

Tex is more a [censored] than he is worth vs him as a player IMO.

I’m a big believer in second chances also but geez… he’s a hand grenade to bring into our club especially.

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

    GAMEDAY: Rd 07 vs Richmond

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

    OOZEE by The Oracle

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh
