This mob are one of the teams that I really enjoy beating during the season. There are just so many reasons to dislike them.

Dees look to have them beaten on every line on the team sheets but OI do not care about the margin..... 1pt....... 10 goals as long a we beat them.

On a side note....the joys of a European Spring...... expecting a few inches of snow overnight and into the morning..... Game starts at 10.20 am my time. It will finish in time to prepare lunch and have a glass or two of wine.

Go Dees!

I always feel a little short changed when we play on a work day and can't enjoy a proper full day build up to the game. On the flip side of course we get the chance to bag our 4 points early then sit back and watch the hoi polloi scrap it out over the weekend. Swings and roundabouts.

Only concern for mine is being on the receiving end of umpiring like last night. HQ won't want one of their favourites being 0-3.

Crush them boys.

This is the game I get so nervous about. I cannot stand losing to them. I didn't go last year & the previous time was when we just lost & I had these 2 guys in front of me that carried on like they were going to win the flag.vgheg also through in a comment about the 2000 gf

I hope we win & win well & browny, gawn & Jackson play well & trac runs amok.

Game day. [censored] yes. Early start early finish for this pig farmer. Aus kick tonight. Unfortunately no smoker until tomorrow... Hopefully listening to the Saturday rub discussing Melbourne's 188 point deemolition of Essendon

So after a great weekend last weekend on the Gold Coast, I get to spend this weekend at home with COVID! Both my wife and I have it and am sure the kids will pick it up soon too! Ah well had to get it out of the way at some stage, going to get the fire going at home, order some Dan muphy dinner and sit back, relax and enjoy the show! Just hope the umps leave their whistles at home. Still reckon the best umpiring occurs when free kicks for both sides are in the mid teens.

Go well good fellows!

Essendon are bog ordinary at the moment. We're still in second gear.

I predict an unconvincing 25 point win with Trac dominating again

Is it just me or is Essendon playing a team of midgets tonight?

Dylan Shiel is back in the side !!

Feeling uneasy about this game. We are on a 9 game winning streak, we are not in the best form (which is totally fine for round 3, it’s a long season), we are carrying injuries and Essendon are trash. This can only mean one thing… we could be complacent and lose.
If we are at 80% output or more we win and win well. They’ll struggle to kick a big score. But they will also be fired up and desperate to win. If we aren’t on our game for long enough they could win, and while we are bound to drop a game soon, I really really really don’t want it to be to those drug cheating a-holes.

All things being equal,  luck with the ball, the bounce and with the Umpires and injuries,  We should prevail by 30-40 points.

but.....the one thing is what is above the shoulders for both sides, in their heads.  The one thing in our favour is If a certain few players from our side have a poor night, then it will be goodnight to their position in the side for quite some time.

Therefore extrapolating a little bit, our bottom 6 players will try harder than their bottom 6 players.  Therefore a 20 point win.

Anything less is a very poor game from the Dees.

Ethan, you are Lost...……...in Space   !!!!!

Best midfield in the competition vs one of the worst. Comfortable 5 or 6 goal win, and a ‘stress free’ evening I reckon.

The bombers season will be over if they lose tonight so they will throw everything at us and come out firing.

Stats-wise they did ok against the Lions.  Came out and kicked 4.5 in the first Q.

If we are 5% off, we will get beat.  All about mentality and focus tonight

Hard to know.  Without pictures, I can't tell if you're playing a team of midgets or not.

Love your confidence however I agree a four goal win for me. A better back line and it would be ten!

Bah to all the worriers!

We will be all over the bummers tonight and your good old Uncle Bitter will be there ( after an early warm up pub crawl ) to gloat over it.

Dees by plenty!

if we have someone run with Parish, they have no-one left really.

how sweet would be a big 80 pt win be?  man i hate these [censored]!

Problem is they are a young inexperienced side who we really don't know how they will play. Just have to be switched on which is probably the hardest part.

There's a buzz at work that Max is not playing - anyone heard anything? Trying to get to source, but an Essendon-connected colleague is sure about it - possibly covid related

  • NON-MFC: Round 06

The Easter Round kicks off in style with a Thursday night showdown between Brisbane and Collingwood, as both sides look to solidify their spots inside the Top 4 early in the season. Good Friday brings a double-header, with Carlton out to claim consecutive wins when they face the struggling Kangaroos, while later that night the Eagles host the Bombers in Perth, still chasing their first victory of the year. Saturday features another marquee clash as the resurgent Crows look to rebound from back-to-back losses against a formidable GWS outfit. That evening, all eyes will be on Marvel Stadium where Damien Hardwick returns to face his old side—the Tigers—coaching the Suns at a ground he's never hidden his disdain for. Sunday offers two crucial contests where the prize is keeping touch with the Top 8. First, Sydney and Port Adelaide go head-to-head, followed by a fierce battle between the Bulldogs and the Saints. Then, Easter Monday delivers the traditional clash between two bitter rivals, both desperate for a win to stay in touch with the top end of the ladder. Who are you tipping this week and what are the best results for the Demons?

What were they thinking? I mean by “they” the coaching panel and team selectors who chose the team to play against an opponent who, like Melbourne, had made a poor start to the season and who they appeared perfectly capable of beating in what was possibly the last chance to turn the season around. It’s no secret that the Demons’ forward line is totally dysfunctional, having opened the season barely able to average sixty points per game which means there has been no semblance of any system from the team going forward into attack. Nevertheless, on Saturday night at the Adelaide Oval in one of the Gather Round showcase games, Melbourne, with Max Gawn dominating the hit outs against a depleted Essendon ruck resulting from Nick Bryan’s early exit, finished just ahead in clearances won and found itself inside the 50 metre arc 51 times to 43. The end result was a final score that had the Bombers winning 15.6 (96) to 8.9 (57). On balance, one could expect this to result in a two or three goal win, but in this case, it translated into a six and a half goal defeat because they only managed to convert eight times or 11.68% of their entries. The Bombers more than doubled that. On Thursday night at the same ground, the losing team Adelaide managed to score 100 points from almost the same number of times inside 50.
