ignition. 1,478 Posted January 10, 2022 Posted January 10, 2022 Just horrible news. A young man marred with mental illness who left the game in his pursuit to happiness. Unfortunately it was not found and this is the result. Just horrible. I feel deeply for him and his family. 3 1 Quote

Demon Disciple 12,537 Posted January 10, 2022 Posted January 10, 2022 (edited) Hopefully he has found what he thought he could not find in this life. Be at peace Harley. Thoughts and condolences go out to his no doubt devastated family. Edited January 10, 2022 by Demon Disciple 2 Quote
poita 3,945 Posted January 10, 2022 Posted January 10, 2022 Very sad. Harley came back and played a few games with my local club, the Parkdale Vultures, a couple of years back, but even then he didn't seem to be enjoying his football greatly. It is so sad when young people with their whole lives in front of them can't find happiness in anything that they do. 1 Quote
Bring-Back-Powell 15,555 Posted January 10, 2022 Posted January 10, 2022 Very sad news. From memory he was close to getting a game for the club in 2018 after a 4 goal VFL performance but then got injured I think. 1 Quote
Guest Posted January 10, 2022 Posted January 10, 2022 I have a son his age. Can’t even begin to imagine what his mum/family is going through. Harley is now at peace. My heart breaks for the people he’s left behind. 😢 Quote

Dees_In_October 3,515 Posted January 11, 2022 Posted January 11, 2022 We all have someone in our life who we worry about in this regard. But we also all have people who seem "all good", who are the ones always helping others, who are thought to be too successful, too happy or whatever to be struggling. Let's not forget to check in on that person too, the one who's probably never asked, "Are you ok?" 2 Quote
durango 2,024 Posted January 11, 2022 Posted January 11, 2022 Probably the 2 years in lockdown did not help his cause. 2 Quote

We cannot understate this aspect and gone are the old days of sucking it up which I grew up with in my formative years of the sixties and seventies. Men's health is now a priority and the more that we lend an empathic ear and support to other men, the better we become in unilateral and unconditional solidarity. RIP Harley P.F 2 1 Quote
