I hope SWYL doesn't read this post.

He thinks we only won the flag because Jackson played the best quarter of footy in living memory, and that he's going to be the best player of all time.

On a side note, Nathan Buckley on SEN has urged us to ask for Griffen Logue  in return and thinks he could significantly improve our forward line next year.

We all loved that period in the Grand Final and not every player can produce that. I don't want to see him go because I do think he will be something special but we do have to be honest: How often do we see the flash in the pan performance that a club gets sucked in to and it turns out to be a total bust of a decision? I'm not saying this will definitely happen but there is a chance that it could. Selling while the stock is high wouldn't be the worst thing in the world.

100% on board with this.

It's so easy to be romanticised by the brief, bright sparks.

Don't get me wrong, Dogga  may very well develop into what he is being touted as, but he may not - and in any event it's all moot, because if he wants to go home and this is not where his heart is, or we have to throw everything we have to keep him, which will mean we're missing $$$ to keep some of the other pieces of the puzzle, then it's not worth it. It creates friction in the team, and leads to the kind of mentality on show by May earlier this year. Everyone has a role, and everyone needs to play that role, week in and out to make this dynasty we speak of.

We're not far off a perfect side. Aside from smarter delivery i50, we need to look for a forward or two, or at least someone who can play up forward, like Logue.

If you need an example of an outstanding performance by a player that subsequently doesn't go on to deliver what was then expected, look no further than Weid in a final a few years ago.

Good point.

I genuinely thought Weideman was going to be the one of the best up and coming forwards in the game after that 2018 finals series..

I see that BBP is using my name in a post again. I have him on ignore so I only see his odd ramblings sporadically.
The poor boy must have been sitting on the can during the 3rd Quarter of the GF and missed the complete and utter obliteration of the Bulldogs. He will not give LJ any credit for that work. Sad really, but not something i lose any sleep over.
Now if Luke decides to go home I will be disappointed, but it’s not the first time players have left us. We will have a plan B in place by now.
Get the maximum returns for a 20 year old, who is yet to reach anything like his potential. Screw the Bastards as hard as we can and get talent back this way.

and please BBP do not use my name without prior permission

You are not worthy

Why does everyone on here care if he goes.He had an influence in one fantastic quarter of the final and not much since then.I would rather have jack watts,he could run like the wind 6.5 tall could mark and kick.None which i have seen from jackson this season.By the time he reachs his so called potential we will have won 3 or 4 flags while he suffers in a Freo rebuild

Can confirm Mel and Steve have moved into the Perth home that Jackson recently purchased. Make of this what you will…

I can also confirm that information as I was driving the furniture removal truck.

I cannot disclose the contents of the truck because Luke made me sign an NDA.

The doors aren't high enough for LJ to step through ?

Surely you don’t buy a house then move your parents in with you at age 20…

Is this a good sign?

It is my understanding, although not yet confirmed, that Mel had corn flakes for breakfast this morning. Obviously has large ramifications for the developing trade situation, and I will report back as this story unfolds.

Your source is different to mine. Since moving to a more affluent suburb, Mel was seen ordering bircher muesli and a soy latte at the local cafe. ET, maybe able to shed more light.

The important part in all this is the fibre in the diet.

I firmly believe Luke is going, but isn’t it funny how a meeting with player x means player y is not only leaving, but also going to a specific club? If LJ was going to the Eagles would we not have met with Brodie? I’m confused.

    DERAILMENT by KC from Casey

It wasn’t quite a trainwreck although at times, it sure looked like one, so I’ll settle for “derailment”.  The trip to Brighton Homes Arena in Springfield outside the back of Brisbane might not exactly be the same place where Homer Simpson’s family resides but, if you listened closely to the utterances of the Casey Demons fans both at the ground or watching via livestream, you could hear lots of groaning and plenty of expressions of “D'oh!” reverberating in the background, particular

TEN YEARS AFTER by Whispering Jack

Things have changed in the more than ten years since the West Coast Eagles decimated Melbourne by 93 points on the MCG early in the 2014 season. The two sides had not met at the home of football in the interim until yesterday when Melbourne won by a comfortable 54 points to remain in contention for this year’s finals series. Back in those days, the Demons were in the midst of their Great Depression but they have since tasted premiership glory and experienced a long enough period among

GAMEDAY: Rd 17 vs West Coast

It’s game day and the Demons return to Melbourne to play the Eagles at the MCG for the first time in over a decade. A win keeps the Dees finals hopes alive whereas a loss will almost certainly slam the finals window shut.

    CROSSROADS by The Oracle

Melbourne stands at the crossroads.  Sunday’s game against the West Coast Eagles who have not met the Demons at the MCG in more than ten years, is a make or break for the club’s finals aspirations.  That proposition is self-evident since every other team the club will be opposed to over the next eight weeks of footy is a prospective 2024 finalist. To add to this perspective is the fact that while the Demons are now in twelfth position on the AFL table, they are only a game and a half b

    DELUGE by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons overcame their inaccuracy and the wet inhospitable conditions to overrun the lowly Northern Bullants at Genis Steel Oval in Cramer Street, Preston on Saturday. It was an eerie feeling entering the ground that in the past hosted many VFA/VFL greats of the past including the legendary Roy Cazaly. The cold and drizzly rain and the sparse crowd were enough to make one want to escape to the nearby Preston Market and hang out there for the afternoon. In the event, the fans

    INSANITY by Whispering Jack

Somehow, the Melbourne Football Club managed it twice in the course of a week. Coach Simon Goodwin admitted it in his press conference after the loss against the Brisbane Lions in a game where his team held a four goal lead in the third term:   "In reality we went a bit safe. Big occasion, a lot of young players playing. We probably just went into our shell a bit. "There's a bit to unpack in that last quarter … whether we go into our shells a bit late in the game."   Well
