Play strong and stay safe ………. and bring home the 4 points Dees!

We haven’t had a good run at the G without crowds. Boys need to find a way to get themselves up regardless of the lack of atmosphere.
At least it’s a beautiful dry day.

Our first 100 point win of the year.

Then we send shockwaves through the comp by rolling Geelong at Kardinia Park next week to hit the finals as the in form team.

We then go on to win the flag.

[censored] it, I'm in.

Well I have to work so will be checking the scores.

We won't lose this will we? Like we wouldn't stuff up our  top of the ladder opportunity surely

think our game is on 7 and gc essendon on 7 mate

To me we are going in a tall forward short but I assume the brains trust think that Gawn/Jackson will fill that hole.

Perfect day for football and everything to play for.

What could possibly go wrong this time.

It feels like the season has turned the final bend and we’re now looking down the final straight.

Our players will know quality performances will ensure a place in our finals team and nothing is guaranteed. Coaches have us peaking with a couple of final touches to add next week in TMac and Viney.

Expect us to be on today.

We’re in a position to make history.

Go Demons.

Not a lot of incentive for Adelaide to win and go from draft pick 2 to pick 4 or 5 and push out later round picks.

Walker did most of the damage last time and he is out.  Lever and co won't fall for the same trap again - he will make sure we 'block the corridor'!  Keep their small fwds under control and we will win.

And hopefully, we have learnt how to defend a lead in the last minutes of a game.  Hawthorn gave a masterclass in that yesterday.

One thing’s for sure, no matter how we win today, the media pundits (they aren’t analysts) will spin it in some way as to underrate our Premiership chances………..and I love it.

If this club truly has changed its culture it will beat Adelaide by 10 goals+. It’s time to get our revenge on these [censored] for beating us in round 10.

Alarm went off at 05:00, went and got Covid test (have to get 2 a week for work) back in my bed at 05:26 and slept until 9. Bacon and eggs done and dusted, got a few jobs to do around the house before resuming my position on the couch at 2pm.

We should win this one in a canter.

That's it. Loss coming up. Ruined my morning.

A real danger game. A position like 17th on the ladder proposes a huge problem for the MFC. If thy were 4th or 5th I would say we would win no worries.

Has there been a game this year when this hasn't been posted by somebody?

Relax Demonlanders, we'll win easily.

Would love a win of (vs) GCS proportions, but will be more than happy with a routine 4 or 5 goal win, a nice ‘tune up’ and no injuries.

Why do I have an uneasy feeling?

One team has a big prize if they win, the other team has key outs and their season is done and dusted = Rnd 23 2017.

Bring the standard pressure we’ve had in the last two weeks and we win. It’s been a curious week with top teams either losing or being challenged at certain point so it’s a good lesson in staying focused and in the game.

I’m personally a little disappointed they didn’t take this opportunity to give Weid a crack but Brown’s getting into some good form so hopefully it continues today!

  • AFLW REPORT: Gold Coast

The forecast said wind. The ladder said mismatch. The scoreboard said obliteration. Melbourne didn’t just beat Gold Coast — they dismantled them: 13.15 (93) to 0.6 (6). An 87-point obliteration, the Suns held goalless, and the Demons delivering their second-highest winning margin and third-highest score in AFLW history.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #28 Will Verrall

It was a tough ask for him to break through as a 199cm ruckman in the shadow of an all-time great in that position who is also the club captain. He had some good days at Casey but was unable to progress and was delisted at the end of the season.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #29 Tom Campbell

The 33-year-old Campbell has yet to play AFL football for Melbourne, but his Casey form has been strong and he has been retained as a ready-made ruck depth option who is widely regarded as someone who is excellent for the culture of the club.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #30 Harry Sharp

The Demons acquired an interesting player in Sharp, who narrowly missed securing a spot in the Lions’ premiership team last year. The 22-year-old medium forward played in the opening round this season and ended up with 18 senior games, although he was substituted in or out in for ten of those matches. He demonstrated glimpses of form, but ultimately ended the year on the margins of the team.

Worked his way back after a slow start and a further slump in form going into the midseason but became a solid contributor for the club in the latter half of 2025. Closing in on 300 goals for the club.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Gold Coast

On Friday, the Demons return to our Casey Fields fortress where they have a 77% win rate. The scent of September is in the air and the struggling Suns are on the horizon. The Cranbourne weather forecast? Ominous, like the match itself: a strong chance of carnage. Let’s be honest, last week’s first half against the West Coast was a training drill but we dropped our guard in the final quarter. While this match is a mismatch on paper — second versus seventeenth — football is won in the wind, the contests, and the moments.
