Adonski, you are one of about 5 other Posters that displayed some level of doubt about my original post along with HardTack, Rod Grinter Squad, CHF and Robbie57.

I never quite understand why other Posters express that type of doubt/negativity.  Is it envy or a feeling of inadequacy that some posters just have NO level of inside contacts?

I would have thought that asking you “And you know this how?” would have been a fair question, particularly considering the post was from an anonymous poster on a public forum.

As you state “Is it envy or a feeling of inadequacy...”, we could equally ask whether it’s a bruised ego or a lack of praise from some posters, that makes you find it necessary to list your ‘doubters’ and attempt to belittle them.

The fact that the info does appear to be solid is good, so kudos for that. As I said in an earlier post, there’s been plenty of false prophets on these forums, so you have to expect to be questioned on the veracity of your claims.

And just as I type that last sentence, a notification from the MFC app pops up, telling me that Trac is now a demon for life ?

Goodwins gone through much more adversity then Roos did with us. Goodwins had his own challanges and rebuilt the list back up again. Without Goodwin, Oliver, Salem and Petracca are looking at new clubs.

Roos got what he came for and that was the $$. This whole notion of the club wouldn't be here without him is actually laughable.

The whole Roos / Goodwin debate is a moot point. The fact is no one has done anything yet. We are in round 7 and coming off 9th and 17th placed seasons. Let's wait untill we are a successful club (ie winning premierships) before we start deciding who did what.

Thanks Tracc.
And thanks MFC.

Getting some great signatures of late without all the will he/won't he BS.
So happy right now.

Now being reported that the deal is worth well over $1mil per year as was reported by @goodwindees. Where did the narrative that he wanted to leave some $$$ for his team mates come from, because earning that much cash is not going to help retain your LG, Kozzies, Rivers and other emerging stars in a few years time.

Unless there is some clever front/backloading being done here, i cant see how this was a team focused decision.

Dont get me wrong, i am wrapped he has signed for 7 and he is well worth what he is getting paid - just questioning the narrative.

Even if that's the case, what is the Salary Cap/median wage going to look like in 5 years time?

I’m pumped about the 7 years thing. Could never really get around Jesse in his prime years because of the Perth factor and that you always knew he would leave us one summer. No such drama with Trac. He’s ours baby.

Also loving the way many MFC players have been instantly sharing contract news on their IG stories. Like they’re equally excited as us fans.

100%
Could end up bargain basement for a top of the line footballer with his best years still infront of him.
And hate to say it but Max Gawn is closer to the end than the start.
He'd chew up abit I'd guess.

We have to offer Trac what ever he wants. Players of his ilk don’t grow on trees and we may not ever draft a player of his talent again.

However we must be of the understanding that we probably won’t be able to land a huge free agent in the next while and may see some our unsung players like an ANB seek a pay day elsewhere.

Lever, May, Gawn and BBB surely aren’t

out of the goodness of their heart. And Oliver will be seeking $900K a year when he reaches free agency.

We need to re-sign Trac on big money and absolutely win a flag within 3 years.

Lever and Gawn recently extended their previous contracts. Didn’t Gawn go on record as saying he took less to allow other contracts like the Oliver, Salem and Petracca one’s to happen.

With regards to a big free agent, what position needs feeling? We have a balanced list with a number of quality players.

Players like ANB etc whilst having great seasons, to me wouldn’t get that much more at other clubs and would stay for less for the chance of ultimate glory.

I’m not sure what’s funnier..

When Carlton fans thought they could get Oliver or when Tony Shaw thought they could get Petracca!!!

Where the hell is @Wiseblood??? He's been the voice of reason and positivity around here for years when you'd have to grasp at straws -> should be at the front of the queue in enjoying all this.....

  • PREVIEW: Richmond

A few years ago, the Melbourne Football Club produced a documentary about the decade in which it rose from its dystopic purgatory of regular thrashings to the euphoria of a premiership victory. That entire period could have been compressed in a fast motion version of the 2025 season to date as the Demons went from embarrassing basket case to glorious winner in an unexpected victory over the Dockers last Saturday. They transformed in a single week from a team that put in a pedestrian effort of predictably kicking the ball long down the line into attack that made a very ordinary Bombers outfit look like worldbeaters into a slick, fast moving side with urgency and a willingness to handball and create play with shorter kicks and by changing angles to generate an element of chaos that yielded six goals in each of the opening quarters against Freo.

  • NON-MFC: Round 07

Round 7 gets underway in iconic fashion with the traditional ANZAC Day blockbuster. The high-flying Magpies will be looking to solidify their spot atop the ladder, while the Bombers are desperate for a win to stay in touch with the top eight. Later that evening, Fremantle will be out to redeem themselves after a disappointing loss to the Demons, facing a hungry Adelaide side with eyes firmly set on breaking into the top four. Saturday serves up a triple-header of footy action. The Lions will be looking to consolidate their Top 2 spot as they head to Marvel Stadium to clash with the Saints. Over in Adelaide, Port Adelaide will be strong favourites at home against a struggling North Melbourne. The day wraps up with a fiery encounter in Canberra, where the Giants and Bulldogs renew their bitter rivalry. Sunday’s schedule kicks off with the Suns aiming to bounce back from their shock defeat to Richmond, taking on the out of form Swans. Then the Blues will be out to claim a major scalp when they battle the Cats at the MCG. The round finishes with a less-than-thrilling affair between Hawthorn and West Coast at Marvel. Who are you tipping and what are the best results for the Demons?

  • REPORT: Fremantle

For this year’s Easter Saturday game at the MCG, Simon Goodwin and his Demons wound the clock back a few years to wipe out the horrible memories of last season’s twin thrashings at the hands of the Dockers. And it was about time! Melbourne’s indomitable skipper Max Gawn put in a mammoth performance in shutting out his immediate opponent Sean Darcy in the ruck and around the ground and was a colossus at the end when the game was there to be won or lost. It was won by 16.11.107 to 14.13.97. There was the battery-charged Easter Bunny in Kysaiah Pickett running anyone wearing purple ragged, whether at midfield stoppages or around the big sticks. He finish with a five goal haul.

  • CASEY: UWS Giants

The Casey Demons took on an undefeated UWS Giants outfit at their own home ground on a beautiful autumn day but found themselves completely out of their depth going down by 53 points against a well-drilled and fair superior combination. Despite having 15 AFL listed players at their disposal - far more than in their earlier matches this season - the Demons were never really in the game and suffered their second defeat in a row after their bright start to the season when they drew with the Kangaroos, beat the Suns and matched the Cats for most of the day on their own dung heap at Corio Bay. The Giants were a different proposition altogether. They had a very slight wind advantage in the opening quarter but were too quick off the mark for the Demons, tearing the game apart by the half way mark of the term when they kicked the first five goals with clean and direct football.

The Dees are back at the MCG on Thursday for the annual blockbuster ANZAC Eve game against the Tigers. Can the Demons win back to back games for the first time since Rounds 17 & 18 last season? Who comes in and who goes out?
