I can't find this covered elsewhere, but Robbo has his annual top 50 published in today's Herald Sun. We need a thread just so we can criticise his choices.

I haven't got the list in front of me, but there are 4 Demons: Gawn, Petracca, Oliver and May. I think Gawn and Petracca are both in the top 10, Oliver is (I think) number 33 and May is in the forties.

Congratulations to them.

And may the criticism of Robbo begin...

Oliver was lucky to be top 50 based on last year, but I wouldn’t swap him for any midfielder outside the top 10.

Andrews, McGovern, Moore and May all too low based on last year.

Liam Ryan too high but I like him top 30, he’s freakish and well rounded.

Overall it’s a pretty solid list.

To have joe Daniher in a list when he has hardly played a game in 3 years is farcical

Not really. He’s a top 10 talent just waiting to get a good run at it and is at the club with the best recent history. Add in some practice match form and you couldn’t leave him out of the top 50 projections

If he can hold onto his 'better habits' version and use space from stoppages a bit smarter to get more effective clearances, that puts him in the absolute top bracket of midfielders.  Just need a bit more of what was in the 'video of the week' from the practice match!

Either way, Oliver easily led the competition for clearances last year. He is surely in the same mix as Cripps, Macrae, Steele, Wines and Boak.

Rowell at 22 after he’s played 3 games.

Daniher at 26 when he doesn’t get on the park and hasn’t impacted a game for 3-4 years.

Clarry at 33 after he’s played 100 games at possibly the highest quality first 100 games ever.

Slobbo needs to lay off the [censored]!

Agree, Claz at 33 is underrating him.  But a lot of experts seem to have Clarry blinkers.

Have to say the hype around Rowell is insane.  He's clearly extremely talented & the potential is big but as of March 2021 he's played exactly THREE senior games and has had a serious injury.  The media need to give these kids some time to breathe.

More like the Bruce- o - meter rankings. How spehhshallll they are.

robbo seems to apply different metrics to different players- past, present and potential performance without any consistency.  He is a [censored] anyway.

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to
