Four points, they (TWSNBN)would have demanded it. Gate takings or TV takings and loss of accrued points to date......

How in the f... would Gil know.

Something smells rotten here.

How was he allowed back into the country?

Is it more of the au pair fiasco again?

Was always going to happen and it won’t be the last incident.
This season might struggle to get to a finale.
Everyone stay safe.

Its really thrown a bit into chaos and sadly we will be shafted out of this is the game does not go ahead this week. we will have to make it up, it halts any continuity. Its tough for sure.

Just an empty flat feeling - if ever there was a time to imagine what it would be like have no Dees in the comp, now is that moment. When we get through all of this, It must never, ever happen. Watching the other clubs running around is hollow.

Unless they play this game mid week the season is dead

Essendrug seem to run their own rules

If a player tests positive yesterday that should be enough to Quarantine them i would say.
it’s what i would do

The MFC have to be firm on this, unless the season is done

I'd normally be very fast to blame Essendon and throw hate at them, but in this case after giving it some thought, [censored] the [censored].Ban the [censored] from the AFL comp for life. [censored][censored]

Mckenna was probably at the rally like the other tools that has meant restrictions are back in place.

Don't be a jerk, there's literally nil chance he was there.  I think the rallies were irresponsible, but they are also NOT the reason for the slowed lifting of restrictions - that relates primarily to hotel security staff not been given proper equipment and training for safety.

So, unless you also wish to claim McKenna has been hanging out with hotel security contract managers, pull your head in on that one, eh?

My focus is on Essendon letting him rejoin the main group while holding an 'ambiguous' test result.

Not that Essendon have ever done great with the 'ambigious' medical scenarios.

Testing irregularity yesterday, yet still allowed to train this morning. Wow. The arrogance of that club is unbelievable.

Something not right here. Gils not telling something

14 days was a numebr plucked out of the air to a large extent.

Not really.

"The median incubation period was estimated to be 5.1 days (95% CI, 4.5 to 5.8 days), and 97.5% of those who develop symptoms will do so within 11.5 days (CI, 8.2 to 15.6 days) of infection. These estimates imply that, under conservative assumptions, 101 out of every 10 000 cases (99th percentile, 482) will develop symptoms after 14 days of active monitoring or quarantine."

Did MFC and EFC scratch match start?

I am sorry but that is nonsense. Gil wouldn't know his elbow from his shizen on this.

You can tell from the press conference that the position of CEO is so far out of his league it's almost funny. Go back to your Polo Gil.

They've rescheduled the other sunday games too. One now starts at 8pm, all to ensure there is a 3pm game

The other worrying thing is that Melb (city) has had an increasing number of covid cases this week and on top of it restrictions are not being eased on Monday as planned.

Will be real interesting to see what happens.

My understanding is that the tightened restrictions are not connected to the protesters, but more to fools who were positive continuing to go to work and to visit friends and family,  coupled with the hotel security staff as mentioned above by Little Goffy.

This could so easily have been us after last week. Disappointing we're not playing tomorrow but at least our boys aren't now at risk of being infected and in the same boat as Essendon. It would be good if they could bring forward the Geelong game so that we don't have to wait a fortnight between games.

Great. And  dictator Dan shutting the state down again because he allowed stupid selfish protestors to march

Grrrrrr

Seriously?  Their first thought was to make sure TV went along okay?

I'd be livid if I was one of the clubs told to reschedule their day within 24hrs of the start of the match.

Wait... I'm already livid.

You can imagine every EFC player is allergic to testing.

So [censored] off... I was looking forward to this game big time,  I was confident, and I hate these cheats.

Nothing to do with the protestors.

This covid virus must be seriously tough [censored].

How any bug could survive with all the drug residues that must be floating around at Windy Hill defies imagination.

True but what I meant (and should have been clear about) is that it is plucked out of the air whether 97% or 98% or 14 days or 15 days etc is the magic number to protect us all.  I suspect whatever percentage that gave us 14 days was chosen because some ancient Sumerian decided we would have 7 day weeks.

The book should be absolutely thrown at these flogs. How in their right mind could they let him train with the full group with an "irregular test"

Seeing he has been in close contact with their entire list I cannot see how they can avoid a 14 quarantine.

It'll either need to be the bombers forfeit their next 3 games and the season continues on for the rest of the comp. Or everyone is shut down.

Gil will be forced to make a difficult call on them by Thurs.  Surely Essendrug is culpable IF it allowed him to train with a low grade positive this week / today?

You are probably not far wrong with this.  They forfeit matches, including ours, or the season is put on ice.  Im betting the former.

Of course, it’s not the backline, you might argue and you would probably be right. It’s the boot studder (do they still have them?), the midfield, the recruiting staff, the forward line, the kicking coach, the Board, the interchange bench, the supporters, the folk at Casey, the head coach and the club psychologist  It’s all of them and all of us for having expectations that were sufficiently high to have believed three weeks ago that a restoration of the Melbourne team to a position where we might still be in contention for a finals berth when the time for the midseason bye arrived. Now let’s look at what happened over the period of time since Melbourne overwhelmed the Sydney Swans at the MCG in late May when it kicked 8.2 to 5.3 in the final quarter (and that was after scoring 3.8 to two straight goals in the second term).

  • CASEY: Essendon

Casey’s unbeaten run was extended for at least another fortnight after the Demons overran a persistent Essendon line up by 29 points at ETU Stadium in Port Melbourne last night. After conceding the first goal of the evening, Casey went on a scoring spree from about ten minutes in, with five unanswered majors with its fleet of midsized runners headed by the much improved Paddy Cross who kicked two in quick succession and livewire Ricky Mentha who also kicked an early goal. Leading the charge was recruit of the year, Riley Bonner while Bailey Laurie continued his impressive vein of form. With Tom Campbell missing from the lineup, Will Verrall stepped up to the plate demonstrating his improvement under the veteran ruckman’s tutelage. The Demons were looking comfortable for much of the second quarter and held a 25-point lead until the Bombers struck back with two goals in the shadows of half time. On the other side of the main break their revival continued with first three goals of the half. Harry Sharp, who had been quiet scrambled in the Demons’ first score of the third term to bring the margin back to a single point at the 17 minute mark and the game became an arm-wrestle for the remainder of the quarter and into the final moments of the last.
