Thus ends another disappointing season for the Melbourne Football Club.

Virus steps in prevent further embarrassment for us.

There’s a couple of hours of my life I’ll never get back. I’m glad I know they worked so hard off season as if I didn’t Id swear theyre playing exactly the same way and repeating Exactly the same mistakes. Boring footy. Nothing team. I’m glad I don’t have to watch that [censored] for 10 more weeks.

Deja Vu! Non existent delivery into a non existent forward line

I don’t think it’s an ability issue so much as a structural issue.  I have lost confidence in Goodwin

Did we learn nothing from the 2018 Prelim ?

Pickett in his debut was our highest scorer.  Don't know if I should be excited or worried about that???

$5 Kayo offer for 2 months.

Worst value ever.

:)

5 debutants, jumped at the start and lost by 27 points over in Perth. I'll take it.

Not yet... but the “ boys are working really hard” I expect a lift by 2022

Well it’s good to see we have improved on last season. FMD.

No spread when defending, bombing it into the f50, missing targets, missing gettable goals and basically playing like we don’t have anything to prove from last season.

I’m glad the season has been suspended because having to see this [censored] again for another season would be horrendous.

imo Goodwin has to go. I know it’s an early call but NOTHING has changed from last season.

Yes   from the last game of 2018, we have learnt nothing about kicking to one of our players inside our forward 50

5 Goals to nil in the First Quarter

We Generally start poorly

Tell us why oh wise Goodwin

The luckiest man on the planet right now

Let’s face it, Hibberd, Oscar and Spargo should never play a senior game again.

Oliver is way ahead of himself. He has become lazy.

We have no forward line. Tom McDonald is nowhere.

27 points flattered the [censored] out of us.

Nothing has changed from last year and now we can't use injuries as an excuse.

Today was extremely concerning and very disappointing.

Goodwin is in big trouble.

Pickett, Viney, Lockhart and Bedford were the positives..

Where was our leaders? McDonald, Jetta, Melksham?

Hibberd is finished, see ya. And im afraid to say, but Jetta is just about cooked.

ANB and Spargo are dead set suburban footballers.

That's the most disappointing thing isn't it, nothing seems to have improved.

Oscar beat Darling.

Harsh

We were never going to win that game. Maybe had a chance if the game was played in Melbourne and game was full length.

i50 delivery has not changed but it was never going to in 1 preseason. What’s more worrying is the defensive 50 and two way running effort.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Gold Coast

On Friday, the Demons return to our Casey Fields fortress where they have a 77% win rate. The scent of September is in the air and the struggling Suns are on the horizon. The Cranbourne weather forecast? Ominous, like the match itself: a strong chance of carnage. Let’s be honest, last week’s first half against the West Coast was a training drill but we dropped our guard in the final quarter. While this match is a mismatch on paper — second versus seventeenth — football is won in the wind, the contests, and the moments.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #32 Tom Sparrow

The rugged Sparrow’s career appears to have plateaued in recent years. He makes the side on a week to week basis but he is unable to establish a foothold in the team’s midfield and arguably performs best outside of the contest in a forward position without being a goal kicker. He remains a good honest foot soldier but is not a star.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #33 Tom Fullarton

Fullarton managed a couple of games in the first half of the season but soon found himself back in the VFL. There, he found a niche at centre half back but it was not enough to retain a place on the list at season’s end.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #35 Harrison Petty

Entering 2025, it looked as if Petty would be secured in a defensive position, but plans shifted and he spent more time forward, averaging just over a goal per game throughout the season. It remains uncertain which area of the ground he will be expected to cover under the new coaching regime.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #36 Kysaiah Pickett

The dynamic small forward, possessing an innate ability to generate excitement with his explosive play around the goals, successfully transitioned into a role that afforded him more time in the midfield. The club also negotiated a long-term deal with Pickett, thereby eliminating any prospect of a move west by their star young player.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #37 Kade Chandler

For a few years now, he has been a reliable, hard working pressure forward, but in 2025, Chandler elevated his performance, becoming an integral component of the team with enough versatility to play effectively on a wing from time to time.
