Too early to send out the Finals 2020 information to members??

*includes 20ml of bathwater for your enjoyment

We are like Michael Diamond in the foot shooting category.

We never miss.

Not a fan of this as a preseason promo. Its the old "Actions speak louder then words" for me so lets see how they come up after the the first three rounds.

We've been in hell for a very long time, waiting for the "and back".

2020 is a year for redemption.

Agree.

They should use this song in all their campaign material:

Can you smell what we're cooking?

If this is a promo, it's terrible.

Cannot see the sense of it.

Continual focus on the negative does nothing for one's current mood or hope.

As good a place as any to put this. Terrific replacement game for the round 9 Alice game i reckon:

Imo we are still in hell.

We ain’t out of it yet but hopefully it happens sooner rather than later.

To Hell yes; the back bit ???

Might be more honest if the marketing department announced that we've 'twinned' with the Telluride Miners.

I note that the Chiefs are in the Super Bowl, last appearance 1970.  Does the MFC have the current record in the world as the longest drought in winning a premiership?

Wtf U lot want the membership campaign to say, yes where shyt we are in hell going nowhere. go and cut your own necks members of the MFCSS.

No. Cleveland Indians are at 60+ years. And a bunch of NFL teams are at 50+ years since they won anything, if anything.

Tottenham hasn't won the league since 1960 I think.

We're bad but we're not the worst. But we're thereabouts. Which basically sums up Melbourne's history.

Maybe that should be our promo this year:

"To hell and back...or thereabouts"

I like it and dont agree with the negativity around this stuff, i understand it, but a video shouldn't cause such angst. The club is a business, it has to engage and excite, i for one love teh prospect of where we could go this year, it was hell last year, not much worse than that. Now will it be heaven or will linger in purgatory or be anchored in hell remains to be seen.

But if we are  not thinking positive as a club then we are failing our members. The club  must promote, its up to the p[layers to deliver.

Well said D3 there are a lot on here who look for the negative in everything Melbourne and for some only a Premiership will stop that. (Actually the first one will be called a flash in the pan and there will be a lot of negativity about winning another one ).

I thought a lot of comments on here were very old school and quick to criticize. I don't think this promo is saying we are back, it's more about the road to redemption and what is needed to get back. Sure we could do something like this after the fact but that doesn't sell belief or memberships now. I also like it because it requires buy in from the players, we want them to bust a gut and go to another level. This promo is not about them being there yet, but it is about the journey.

Fort William, a football team in the Highland League in Scotland didn't win a game for 840 days recently. And they play for ten months of the year. Don't know if they'll be on this show that starts on Netflix on 01 March though. Can't say if we'll be featured either. I started following the Packers because they were so bad at the time (pre Brett Favre) that their fans started wearing paper grocery bags over their heads at their games in embarrassment. Straight away I thought, that's the team for me!

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.
