Cheers Jeffy! Quite the series of highlights to be found from his time as a Demon!

Bloke gave us some exciting times as a Dee. Will miss him at his best.

Best wishes to Dec as well, seemed like a hard worker.

Garlett and Keilty depart

Couldn't agree more LN, loved Jeffy and his time at the Dees, he was electric and had such good goal sense. Wish him all the best. A Demon forever.

One of the players who helped nudge my wife into enjoying football. Both the 'fun' things he did in play and the moments of cheekiness he provided.

Really glad we had him these last few years, one of those small wins that help a club grow. Plus, we got to be in the 'have ex-Carlton players kicked more goals than Carlton this week?' game.

78 games - 138 goals

thanks Jeffy.

best of luck Dec

Had a disappointing last couple of seasons but Garlett added some excitement to the side over the years. At his best, he was a seriously dangerous small forward. Came basically for free too, with the added bonus of enabling us to laugh at Carlton. All the best Jeff.

Thanks to Keilty for the services as well.

Last great memory of his career was when he basically carried us over the line in the last quarter against the lions up at the Gabba when they had gone on a 6-7 goal run against us , some classy snaps to steady the ship . At the end of the day it all counted to us making finals that year . I also remember Dland melting down in the post match thread that game even though we’d won

Thanks Jeffy

All the best, well played - 185 more games then a mug like I. Thank you and all the best

They rate C Wagner over Garlett ??!!!!??? Really....

Garlett was an outstanding acquisition considering the little we gave up for him, and provided some great entertainment over his 5 seasons at the club.

Was great when on, was colder than cold when he wasn't, but all told was a good pickup for us in bad times. Thanks Jeff

That's most unlike Demonland.

Thank you both, Jeffy an absolute gem for us and great to watch especially when he got the ball out the back.

Jeffy & Watts the only reliable finishers over the meagre years until T-Mac's entre' last season..

Our only bit of class besides Fritschkreig in front of the sticks now gone.

Hope this trade season goes well!

Some great moments and helped us over the line to win a few extra games and enhance other wins.  One of my favs was the match in the red centre against the Crows last year.  Last time i can recall him truly turning it on as per 2017 et al.

You always knew Jeffy would finish most opportunities off last season and prior if given the chance.  All class.

Well done to Dec for sticking fat and making it to the big league!

Good luck to both in their post AFL endeavours.

Edit: nearly forgot Melk!  Apologies.

And when he chased down and brought to ground an opponent who wasn’t expecting the tackle!

Loved Jeffy! Felt like he was unfairly maligned last year and should have been playing up forward instead of Spargo.

Jeffy was your typical Paul Roos pick and unfortunately we haven't had once since. He brought excitement and at his best back in 2017 was unlucky not to be named in the 40 All Australian squad.

All the best to Declan Keilty as well and thanks heaps to @Drunkn167 for all the updates and input. VFL for next year for Dec?

sad to see Dec go, i thought he had some real potential (but then again there aren't many others i would get rid of)

thanks for the good times Jeffy. (I still think Jeffy brings more to the table then Spargo)

Dec played two AFL games for two wins. A 100% win rate is a very rare thing at our club. Well done, kid.

Jeffy was wonderful at his best. A great contributor. Farewell both.

I only visited this thread to see how long it takes Saty to pounce on the first negative comment.

:)

That, and to say thanks for your time in the jumper lads.

Wow, now Nathan Jones is the clubs highest goal kicker. What a sad state of affairs we have been reduced to.

Jeffy was brilliant early for us but unfortunately went missing in games to often in the last couple of years.  He was great watch when up and going.

  • REPORT: West Coast

On a night of counting, Melbourne captain Max Gawn made sure that his contribution counted. He was at his best and superb in the the ruck from the very start of the election night game against the West Coast Eagles at Optus Stadium, but after watching his dominance of the first quarter and a half of the clash evaporate into nothing as the Eagles booted four goals in the last ten minutes of the opening half, he turned the game on its head, with a ruckman’s masterclass in the second half.  No superlatives would be sufficient to describe the enormity of the skipper’s performance starting with his 47 hit outs, a career-high 35 possessions (22 of them contested), nine clearances, 12 score involvements and, after messing up an attempt or two, finally capping off one of the greatest rucking performances of all time, with a goal of own in the final quarter not long after he delivered a right angled pass into the arms of Daniel Turner who also goaled from a pocket (will we ever know if the pass is what was intended). That was enough to overturn a 12 point deficit after the Eagles scored the first goal of the second half into a 29 point lead at the last break and a winning final quarter (at last) for the Demons who decided not to rest their champion ruckman at the end this time around.

  • POSTGAME: West Coast

Following a disastrous 0–5 start to the season, the Demons have now made it three wins in a row, cruising past a lacklustre West Coast side on their own turf. Skipper Max Gawn was once again at his dominant best, delivering another ruck masterclass to lead the way.
