Elliott absolutely fills a need for us.

Would be an excellent recruit.

I celebrated Collingwood’s loss just a little bit more because I thought it’d enhance our chances of landing him.

Could be the reverse RB, if they had won the  flag he would be a premiership player and could then look to build up hi super somewhere else. Now if he stays at the Pies he could win a flag over the next couple of years. If he leaves for the second bottom team a flag is a remote chance. Take the two year deal and win a flag seems a better option to me.

Just what we need. But, the lengthy injury interruptions and with this brief current stint making it the perfect timing for him and Collingwood to help him secure a longer contract elsewhere, add the fact it's our bogey recruit from team. I am on high alert!

They don’t know lagwagon?! They sound very uncouth.

I will have to check. Not sure what they all listen to! I'd say Nickleback but I'd be showing my age. Then again, I'll see how I pull up from the Bris Lagwagon gig in March - I might actually be old (It's been a long time since I was in a punky mosh pit (ironically probably Lagwagon @ The HiFi))

Enjoy mate, last one I went to was The Bronx at the Corner couple of years ago. Fing loved it and the crowd is aging with me so was all good

Has Tom Browne ever been right about any trade story he’s broken? Genuine question.

Cast your net wide enough and you're bound to catch something. So long as he says Collingwood or Melbourne are likely, but Hawks are "Showing Interest" (ie. asked once about him), and then Elliot stays or goes to one of the clubs mentioned, he can say; "See, I reported it!"

In fairness he was the first one that broke the Adam Tomlinson to the Dees way back in early August and also said right from very start that Congilio would be staying despite strong offers.

Unless we were in with a chance to land someone like Papley we should absolutely take the risk with Elliot.

Was at the game on Saturday watching him closely. He reads the play and presents incredibly well. He's slippery and constantly puts himself in dangerous positions. Strong mark for his size and when the ball is turned over he puts pressure on the opposition.

He would fit into our best 22 nicely.

And also allow us the luxury of not playing other smalls/mediums who might not be ready for AFL just yet YB.  They can continue to work and hone their craft at Casey a little longer and show us their potential there before getting a lucky window call up through injury, suspension or poor form if they've earned it.

Greater depth will also mean spots in the 22 are harder to come by putting pressure on those in the 22 to maintain their performace.

Something we found out was sadly lacking this season with a stack of games being gifted (yes often through injury necessity) to players who clearly weren't in form and/or able to take the step up required at AFL level.

Its all and well and good to have interest in Elliott, but is there a Plan B? Who knows and i hope and i dont think its to much to expect that there  are other irons in the fire..  but its clear we have a need for a small forward, its imperative we get a good one,  if its not Elliott then are we all in on Spargo / Chandler / Bedford?

I’m pretty sure he stole that one from #ETthetradebreaker™️

Talking about Stephenson, maybe Colliwobbles don't want him either, seeing as he probably cost them a Flag this year

Didn't cost them a flag. However, Stephenson had a betting habit when he was drafted. Pies knew it and withheld most of his pay to keep him under control. He had a weekly stipend of about $100 first year. Unfortunately they couldn't stop his friends from starting accounts on his behalf.

The BOG in the WAFL kicked 6 and hit a lot of ground gets And is 186 cm so may mark well also

He might need to be taken with either 13 or 15 or whatever they end up if we split 2. Elliot would be a bonus also so don't give up Langdon for run and Tomlinson for  versatility defence forward or ruck (not Wing) need a faster running player Msy e turn Butler into that type as I am not sure we have any one speedy enough for Wing.

If a 3 year contract at the pies is the issue a simple solution is 2 years + one year option based on playing a certain number of games in year 2.  Onus is then on him to stay fit and uninjured.

And if we take him, we should do the same: 2+1 option.  And make his contract a flat $ plus a $ per games played component.  Sensible risk and salary cap management.

GAMEDAY: Rd 15 vs North Melbourne

It's Game Day and it very well could be the last roll of the dice for the Demon's finals aspirations in 2024. A loss to the bottom side would be another embarrassing moment in a cursed year for the Dees whilst a win could be the spark they need to reignite the fire in the belly.

    THE HUNTER by The Oracle

Something struck me as I sat on the couch watching the tragedy of North Melbourne’s attempt to beat Collingwood unfold on Sunday afternoon at the MCG.    It was three quarter time, the scoreboard had the Pies on 12.7.79, a respectable 63.16% in terms of goal kicking ratio. Meanwhile, the Roos’ 18.2.110 was off the charts at 90.00% shooting accuracy. I was thinking at the same time of Melbourne’s final score only six days before, a woeful 6.15.51 or 28.57% against Collingwood’s 14.5.89

    FROZEN by Whispering Jack

Who would have thought?    Collingwood had a depleted side with several star players out injured, Max Gawn was in stellar form, Christian Petracca at the top of his game and Simon Goodwin was about to pull off a masterstroke in setting Alex Neal-Bullen onto him to do a fantastic job in subduing the Magpies' best player. Goody had his charges primed to respond robustly to the challenge of turning around their disappointing performance against Fremantle in Alice Springs. And if not that, t

    TURNAROUND by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons won their first game at home this year in the traditional King’s Birthday Weekend clash with Collingwood VFL on Sunday in a dramatic turnaround on recent form that breathed new life into the beleaguered club’s season. The Demons led from the start to record a 52-point victory. It was their highest score and biggest winning margin by far for the 2024 season. Under cloudy but calm conditions for Casey Fields, the home side, wearing the old Springvale guernsey as a mark of res

    POSTGAME: Rd 13 vs Collingwood

Once again inaccuracy and inefficiency going inside 50 rears it's ugly head as the Demons suffered their second loss on the trot and their fourth loss in five games as they go down to the Pies by 38 points on Kings Birthday at the MCG.

    GAMEDAY: Rd 13 vs Collingwood

It's Game Day and the Demons are once again faced with a classic 8 point game against a traditional rival on King's Birthday at the MCG. A famous victory will see them reclaim a place in the Top 8 whereas a loss will be another blow for their finals credentials.
