Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Every time. The faster his feet move the dumber he gets and he ain’t starting from a high place.

Good changes with Kolo coming in  with his great foot skills an asset will be handy. l believe for forward pressure and smarts around the goals Lockhart could be damaging if VFL form of 2018 is a guideline, had exceptional form last year.  Although he has been selected in the Backline.

Not surprised with Frosty staying put as he could be used for support in the backline or a pinch hit on the forward line with his speed and his body strength. Hoping he doesn't have a brain freeze.

Slightly surprised with Spargo's omission he didn't do much wrong and was one of our better players against PA. FD's call.

Great to see Steven May included and wish him all the best. Good luck Dees!

Frost doesn’t wear 30 on his jumper.

Yes he had a bad one last week but he wasn’t alone. He played some good footy last year.

I agree with Wise he is probably there to pinch hit in the ruck and play a bit forward.

He hasn’t taken a single ruck contest last year. You think he’d start on Saturday?

I floated the idea of him rucking as well, simply because it's the only logical explanation.  Maybe we want to play Tom and Weid as permanent forwards this weekend, with Frost playing a third tall and giving Max the chop out in the ruck?  It's not ideal, but they may see Frost as being a little more athletic and strong through the body to go with Ratugolea?  I don't know.

But I can't see us playing May, Oscar AND Frost together in the backline as outside of Hawkins and Ratugolea they don't have a great deal of height.

I don’t mind the idea of him rucking which is why I said that if he could, he would add some value to the team.

However he clearly can’t ruck or I’m sure the footy department would have given it a go over summer.

If they prefer to play our best forward and his bum foot in the ruck over Frost, it says to me that they aren’t interested in Frost’s rucking abilities or lack there of.

And what of Preuss?  If Frost does ruck, isn't this the reason why we traded for Preuss?  Or don't they believe he has the mobility to go with Ratugolea?

Too many questions, not enough clear answers.

Agreed. And the problem remains that I still need to watch Frost be the world’s dumbest footballer on Saturday.

To me Preuss needs to get his fitness sorted before he goes near the AFL. His role is to help Max have a rest, not have Max carry him around.

I'm not advocating this as an ideal scenario by any stretch. But we were witches hats in large parts of the game last week

Frost is a limited footballer but is capable of decent footy in defence. One thing we all know is that he is a headless chook up fwd.

for the love of god don’t play him fwd.

Sam Frost – 7
As expected, Frost had the job on Tom Hawkins and the much-improved defender was very solid. The Cats forward booted two goals, but both majors came from set-shots where Frost's teammates did not do a good enough job of supporting him. Crucial to Melbourne's finals hopes.

i think we are overlooking the simple explanation on Frost, he was more than solid on Tom Hawkins in final last year. As we all know we have been on the wrong side of Hawkins more than a few times over the year. I think Frost will have first crack, he has excellent physical attributes to go with him and allows May to be play more of a Lever type role which was clearly missing last week.

How Frost is still in the team is beyond me. He. Is. Awful.

If he could at least offer us something in the ruck I would understand. But he only offers turnovers.

I suspect that 4 changes would be too many. I think Kielty would have offered more than Frost.

He will get his chance. But not this week.

Wonder what Preussey is thinking now....... & If ever Max needed a hand, its right now.

Feel for C Wagner & M Hore who's parents went through the elation of watching their sons being presented with their guernsey's last week & this week, their whole world's just caved in.

Good job Goodwin.

Whilst he isn't the most talented I'd rather him in the side over OMac at Geelong. OMac lost us the game in the space of 10-15 minutes when playing on Hawkins last year. Frost has some pace and size to negate Hawkins. May or Oscar can then zone off with one or the other to play on Ratugolea.

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

    OOZEE by The Oracle

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh
