Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Thanks Cameron Pedersen

A bloke who didn't allow himself to be defined by one moment and copped criticism square on the chin to make himself a better player.

I was there round 1, 2013 and was incredulous when he ducked. The club weren't happy either apparently as Todd Viney purportedly have him a spray at the end of his first year.

All credit to Pedo in turning himself into a key member of the team at certain stages.  His work as an undersized ruckman was top notch and from all accounts, he was a great clubman too.

It should be noted that his improved output after 2013 allowed us to at least semi break even on the Brock McLean deal.

It should be noted that the change in culture in its beginnings, for the better, started around that time, of 2013...   Pedo at the head of the list.  he chose to bevcame a man and leave child like negativeness behind him and to stand his ground and to fight for his cause.    'C'- ommitment.

Others have failed in the big  'C'... and have left this building.

For far too long this club has been satisfied with being a  boys-club.    At the expence of not winning the Big ones.

self preservation is the enemy of this club.    just surviving is drowning slowly...    our pasts have started at Boards levels... with no Ballls.  no courage,  and no vision.

Young guys have a hard time adapting to AFL without ever knowing the stress of a full time job, uni, family etc.

But it sure isn't easier for a guy like Cam who was trying to juggle a lot. The look at the person is revealing. Reads like when he signed a lucrative contract with Melbourne it was his first taste of financial freedom for his family, good for him. It didn't look all that positive when his fitness was less than ideal and his play was ordinary but he knuckled down and gave his best.

A few heated arguments over the years about him but it's nice to know he had time for the fans and the fans returned that to him. I reckon if he was half a yard quicker or more agile he could've had a very long career at either end of the ground given his skills and game sense were certainly up to the standard.

A humble bloke who gave his absolute all for our Club.  It would be totally unreasonable for any of us to expect more than that.  Well done Cam!

Wasn't there two competing arguments over 'the duck'? Was he ducking or knew he was cooked so trying to tap it over the back? Vague recollection, not saying one way or the other. Is anyone able to post vision?

Either way, he turned into a fantastic club man and played his guts out for us. I'm hoping our latest pick up from the Roos can take it one step further.

Weid is quicker, more agile and taller but will never mark or make position like Pedersen.

Not wanting to prematurely judge a player or anything.

I’ve been writing on demoland since we almost merged with Hawthorn.

I’ve been pretty accurate over the journey. I posted everyone should back Oliver at 50-1 to get most Brownlow votes for Melbourne 2 seasons back when he did. I’ve since been banned from crownbet.

I hope I am caught out on this one but I think Weid is a bust.

Confirmed on the Phillip Island Football Netball Club Facebook Page. Sounds like he's moved to the Island. He'll smash it down there.

Bumping this one for a Pedo update.

Heard from the brother-in-law that Cam took out the League B&F with 38 votes (inc 10 BOG's).

Looks like thethe Dogs have been through the season without a loss too...one draw.

Yep, red hot favourites to take out the WGFNL premiership.

Though i think it's got more to do with their coach Beau Vernon more than anything else. Goody could learn a thing or ten from him.

Last time I looked they were playing against sides who have difficulty fielding a full team most weeks  I could coach against that

Cam deserves to enjoy his footy

The only teams that struggled this year for numbers were Kilcunda and Dalyston (they are the Korumbarra's and Meeniyan's of yesteryear). The top teams are still of a high quality and the good coaches are of a very high quality. You're out of your depth on this one Saty.

I take Gippsland footy, South Gippsland in particular, more seriously than i do AFL nowadays.

You know with Cam what you get. I would have thought that you hold on to a backup who can play in various Key positions and give his all and sometimes more. At 31 yrs could have held him for insurance. I am sure there were many of us who thought that.

Hopefully he is doing okay with himself.

How did IK go this year? They were my local team when I was growing up.

Knocked out in the EF. But they saluted 2 years ago and were the inaugural WGFNL senior premiers.

I hear that Wonthaggi are trying to get into the West Gippsland League next year as they feel they are not competitive enough for the Gippsland League, would ruffle a few feathers as i know AFL Gippsland & now AFL Victoria have said that they will be doing a massive review at the end of next year to re-shape the entire gippsland footy region with their 'G25 vision - what they want it to look like come 2025' (too many leagues), so would be surprised if there is any club that changes leagues this year.

Though The Alberton FNL have been told the same thing for the past 3 years. Hopefully now that AFL Gippsland has been relieved of their duties, AFL Victoria will apply common sense and sort out this huge mess that has been created and left to rot.

LEADERS OF THE PACK by The Oracle

I was asked to write a preview of this week’s Round 8 match between Melbourne and Geelong. The two clubs have a history that goes right back to the time when the game was starting to become an organised sport but it’s the present that makes the task of previewing this contest so interesting. Both clubs recently reached the pinnacle of the competition winning premiership flags in 2021 and 2022 respectively, but before the start of this season, many good judges felt their time had passed - n

    TRAINING: Monday 29th April 2024

Demonland Trackwatcher Kev Martin was on hand at Gosch's Paddock for Monday's training session and made the following observations. About 38 to 40  players down at training.  BBB walking laps.  Charlie Spargo still in rehab, doing short run throughs.  Christian Salem has full kit on and doing individual work with a trainer. He is is starting to get into some sprints. I cannot see Andy Moniz-Wakefield out there. Jack Viney and Kade Chandler have broken away from the

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f
