This has been an unusual round so far. Every game with some bearing on the 8 has gone to the wire. 5 games decided by under a goal has never happened before. Today there are two supposedĀ Ā gimmieĀ Ā games with finals implications for us and GWS.Ā Confident butĀ nervousĀ that more surprises await. I just hope Carlton offer up the surprises.

Exactly what I thought before the St Kilda game :(

Agree I went to that saints game not even having a worry. That taught me a lesson. But today surely history cannot repeat itself. Yes this Gold Coast team knocked off sydney 2 weeks ago but I would like to think we will put the perfect game together today.Ā

If this club is serious about finals the 22 will run out today, win and win well. Today is a good day to boost our percentage.Ā

But excited to go and looking forward to seeing Vanders back in the red and blue.Ā

Perfect weather is forecast, should be a great crowd and a percentage-boosting flogging.

Really? Blowing a gale and gusty here.

Reminds me of the match against Carlton, even though we were virtually level at quarter time, you could see bigger more mature bodies of Demons, it was just a matter of time before we dominated the game.

Hopefully similar type match up today, with Demons on from the first bounce could be a very big win!

Leslie on T Mac?

kolojaznie on Hogan?

sounds like a race to 50 goals for the season. It’s not being arrogant, this GC is a rabble, way worse than st Kilda. If we can’t win easily we should not thinking about finals. Therefore I am not worried

put Trac in the Trac fwd line too and bomb it in

why am i so nervous? i shouldn't be so nervous

where would one start:

Carlton..2016

Collingwood ...2017

St Kilda ... 2018

GC will out to prove a big point now their captain has officially said cyas. Danger game IMO

my main thing is it's not in gc17's best interests to get another win in 2018

they need to maximise not just their own draft pick but the compo pick for lynch

they sneak a couple of wins and a pick 2 and 3 combo could easily become a 5 and 6, which is quite a starkĀ difference

GCS lookĀ frail and undermanned, and have probably 'checked out' for 2018.Ā Ā Starting today, we should take the first step towards serious September action. Just focus on the job at hand, and get itĀ done.Ā  Start buildingĀ momentum now.

Richmond last season after a diabolical defeat at the hands of St Kilda in round 16 strung together a series of mostly solid but all unremarkable wins. However in Round 22 against a flaky Freo theyĀ destroyedĀ them by 104 points to solidify strong finals credentialsĀ though pundits still thought they were not the real deal.Ā We should do the same today hopefully.

Unless a miracle happens and Blues beat GWS.........wouldn't that be golden to see the AFL Giants crumble again.

On paper this is the weakest outfit the Suns have put out this season and we should annihilate them.

That said, I can see this playing out very differently if we are the slightest bit off.Ā

If I was Stuart Dew, I wouldn’t even bother with any other instruction other than to play for each other and have fun.

We should remember that the Suns put away the Swans a couple of weeks ago and shouldn’t be taken lightly.

Not worried by today but the real action starts next week.Ā

is anyone else not confident? (regardless of the fact that we are home playing a 17th placedĀ team without both of their captains)Ā

MFCSS activated.

Ā

Suns can't afford to win as they will go from 17th to 15th and give up draft picks 2 and 3 (Lynch compo) for 4 and 5.Ā  Doubt they will take the chance of Lions/Saints losing games so they can stay on 17th.

They can do some decent trades with pick 2/3, especially SA clubs as apparently this draft is stacked with top end SA players.Ā  Lesser trades with picks 4/5.Ā  Adelaide seem very keen for a top 2/top 3 pick.

...we will win and a repeat of the record i50's last time we played and much more accuracy will make for a very good result!

I think we should be fine and win by at least 8 goals. I rarely say that but the Suns sadly have a skeleton side out there.

Many might reckon that the Lynch confrontation will fire them up but I reckon it will have the opposite effect. A young team lacking in genuine leaders needs as few distractions as possible. That shitestorm was the last thing they needed.

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.
