We're still yet to beat a team in the top 8, I will dream and believe when that happens. Until then.....

Fluff.
Just show me the baby.

Not sure if the author watched the game against the Crows. Oscar fretful every time the ball came down?

Jenkins and Walker had 3 marks between them for a combined score of 1.1. Hogan was quiet but still managed more marks than both of them.

Heard all the same fluff last season when we looked like making finals.

I pray the players can block it all out this time.

I didn’t mind the analogy he used to describe Hogan right now.

Oliver started at FF? No wonder we got smashed in the clearances early. We've got TMac and Hogan in the team and Oliver starts the game at FF?

I couldn't believe the set up.

Does Goodwin bet against us on the QT?  Took him 10 minutes to fix it.

Would love an explaination maybe I am missing something

All we need is another article by David King telling us to stop worrying.

No they weren't, they were an injury riddled mess and struggling outside the 8.

It was about this time last year, when we beat WCE, that the press had us with one hand on the cup already. Turns out that doesn't actually count for anything.

I don't get how one 5 goal lead blown, followed by one salvaged, somehow improves our credentials with the press? Unless they have the memory of a goldfish?

Suggestion: ignore the press. They don't know any more than any knowledgeable fan.

Only one thing matters. Wins, more wins, and more wins.

Your not there till your there it’s all pissin wind up until you get there.

Agree totally with the quote.

still it’s more enjoyable than looking at the number one draft pick and who we might choose !

Enjoy. If you can. GO DEES !!

I am not an Oscar fan but he did start very poorly and got better as the game went on.

Needs some goal kicking lessons from his brother as that could have been the sealer...

Funny you bring that up. Melksham was on the Sunday footy show and was asked about OMac having a shot at goal.

Melksham said that OMac actually beat him in a goal kicking comp at training one day. After a bit of OMac gloating, Milkshake said to him “ If you ever get the chance to line up at goal you will absolutely ?  your dacks”.

Ah yep, I was thinking of GWS. Crows were 4th, GWS were 11-12th. But when we played the Crows in Alice they were decimated by injury. 7th after we flogged them.

True but the fact people including the media say we haven’t beaten a team inside the 8 which is totally untrue.

You can only beat who you play at the time and at the time they were 4th.

Who cares what the media say mate, they are paid to dribble crap. I still say we've beaten no one and that is because the Crows were decimated by injury, it was a brutal win though. What happened back then means nothing for what's coming up. Hopefully a repeat of 2000, except we go all the way would be just superb shutting up Tigers fans.

Let’s hope so ?. I do believe we are well prepared now to take some big scalps leading into the final few rounds. That Geelong loss, while I still can’t stop thinking about will prove to be a lesson well learnt, and the win in Adelaide will build huge belief and hold us in good stead for the final 4 weeks.

Goodwin has made a habit of surprise player positioning at the start of games eg starting TMac in the middle usually to our detriment...without checking I think we have rarely won the first quarter when that happens.  So, I don't like his attempts to confuse the opp coaches.

But to give him the benefit of the doubt with Oliver at FF, I wonder if that was to give him a chance to 'warm up' after his quad tightness during the week.  Just a thought.

As an aside, we certainly need to fix our slow starts as playing catch-up is a fraught with danger!  Putting players in best positions would be a good start.

if you look at omac's draft year highlights you will see him kicking some nice long distance goals. i think he was a fwd in those days and had a nice kick

Jesus I hate these articles. Absolutely hate them!

It's like the media knows how we react in these situations, then they write a fluff article about us and 'premiership chances' just to add to the tension and troll and then watching us burn and fall over at the finish line.

JUST GET THE JOB DONE MELBOURNE! I CAN'T GO THROUGH THIS ANOTHER YEAR IN A ROW. JUST WIN!

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
