Yeah that seems about right. Can afford to carry the Weed and give him 4-5 games in a row to prove himself now. After all we have carried ANB and Harmed so far this season

While tysons kicking is a point of concern i wouldn't be dropping him. ANB for Pecca is fine.

Tysons kicking is more than a concern, it is not good enough. He never hits a target.

It’s obvious Weideman is not up to AFL standard at the moment, we’re playing with 17 when he’s on the ground. Need to prioritise winning over development. Harmes racks up useless possessions, shocking disposal

How is it obvious? How many times was he out marked today? I cant recall one but may have happened. Did you see the two long pack balls he clunked in the second half? May come out if we choose to not play three talls but that will be the only reason he doesn't play I reckon.

There's a point where you just need to back Weed in and simply put games into him. This is the time.

NB: Weid may come out if we choose to go smaller forward but I would stick to the one change.

Shoot . . . looked up to standard to me. Maybe it's just me???

It’s as obvious as 9 disposals and 1 tackle. That’s not good enough and if you think it is you’ve got NFI.

His job is to halve contests first and mark the ball second. Did his job and did it well. Let me guess you do your best players by looking at Fantasy stats yeah?

Went to Docklands for the GWS v Saints match last week. Also watched GWS play the Pies a few weeks before.

GWS play a fast outside style of game. Both the Saints and Pies challenged GWS by playing a close scrappy game that limited GWS' ability to handball and thus move the ball quickly. While two in the chain might be okay the third was spoilt. Collingwood especially hung back knowing GWS would use the over the top handball to release the player.

I suppose what I am trying to say is that you need to think about your opponent and where your strengths and weaknesses lie.

We should beat the Saints comfortably but I would like to see some science applied to the tactics.

Who goes out for Petracca I leave to the selectors but it would seem on today's form that ANB is the most likely.

We now have three games in which to bed down a winning combination before Adelaide at Alice Springs. Needless to say we cannot afford to lose one of them/

I would have had Pedersen in before Weideman on Casey form but now we have given him a game it's time to go around again on that horse. Mind you he is probably a year away from any consistent AFL form based on Casey form. Let's hope we can carry him as he learns and moreover his team mates learn how to play to his strengths.

weideman flew at the ball and clunked a few; he doesn't deserve to be dropped unless it's for match-ups / game style

however, gawn / weideman / hogan / t mac worked today; no reason you'd mess with it for next week at the same venue against a similar-ish opponent

trac for anb is the only thing that makes sense

Spin it what ever way you like pal. Players who have as little impact as Weideman currently is having, don’t make it in AFL.

Weed was good. You are way off saying he isn't up to standard.  He clunker a couple of big pack marks. He will come of age soon.

If he is up to standard then he is playing below himself - because his results are not that of a standard AFL footballer. There are question in regards to Weideman. But ultimately, if he does play, then he needs to apply himself more. This is elite level football and players simply cannot go missing for large portions of matches. We have too many of those players and cannot carry more.

    GAMEDAY: Rd 13 vs Collingwood

It's Game Day and the Demons are once again faced with a classic 8 point game against a traditional rival on King's Birthday at the MCG. A famous victory will see them reclaim a place in the Top 8 whereas a loss will be another blow for their finals credentials.

    BOILED LOLLIES by The Oracle

In the space of a month Melbourne has gone from chocolates to boiled lollies in terms of its standing as a candidate for the AFL premiership.  The club faces its moment of truth against a badly bruised up Collingwood at the MCG. A win will give it some respite but even then, it won’t be regarded particularly well being against an opponent carrying the burden of an injured playing list. A loss would be a disaster. The Demons have gone from a six/two win/loss ratio and a strong percentag

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an

    ALAS SPRINGS by Whispering Jack

I got the word on Saturday from someone who knows someone inside the Fremantle camp that the Dockers were pumped and supremely confident about getting the W the next day against Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park in the red heart of the country. I was informed that the Dockers were extremely confident for a number of reasons. They had beaten the Demons on their home territory at the MCG at their last two meetings so they didn’t see beating them at Alice Springs as a problem. They belie
