Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

They may be homophones but they do not mean the same thing. However if the urban dictionary is your source, what more can I say.

I'm a big ANB fan, but he has been ordinary this year.  That said, he's clearly playing the role asked of him, as he has continued to get a run.

What I would love to see added to his game is the ability to go to an opposition midfielder and shut them down.  He has the tank to run with any player in the league, and playing on someone that will get him around the ball more could be a good thing for him.

With that in mind, I'd be looking at him running with the likes of Jack Stevens this week.  We will need someone to run with Steven, and I'd much prefer that Jones wasn't that man, as he is more value to us playing his own natural game.

I agree go to a oppo player, run with them, and then run hard off them on the spread.

Probably Wagner in for Salem. Although I wouldn't be against giving Stretch another chance and moving Lewis to half back.

Tim Smith really the only likely option as forward if there's injuries or if they want to drop ANB or go smaller.

Maynard had the job on Steven in preseason. He'd be an option, but I think they'll stick with Harmes and Brayshaw in the midfield providing the defensive cover to Jones and Oliver.

Should not have played the last game he was in.

We as a club have to start being cautious in the first place, with theses type strange injuries.   Miss a game up front, to get things back to normal, before playing... instead of allowing things to get out of hand.

I was speaking with a scientist friend recently who happened to mention the worst two bites you can receive in terms of possible infections are from a dog....and a human!

Couldn't agree more Chazz.  Should have been trialed already vs Mitchell / Hawks.  Jones was (and still is) the wrong option for a shut down role IMO.

Might be a good idea to give Stretch another chance on the wing to play Tyson's role and move Tyson on-ball (to replace Salem) where he seems more suited.

I was just thinking, they might actually rest Hogan, and keep 'the Weide' in for one more match, ahead of Hogan returning a week later.

Hogan looked proppy to me, and I'm wondering if he has shin splints.  Or possibly a sore back.

He jogged like a cowboy wearing chaps and 6 shooters strapped to him.  Looks sore.

Oscar Baker for Salem.  this move may really put a shot right over the bow of any players at Casey who are just strolling thru their time with Casey thinking its just a matter of attrition and pecking order before they get their turn.?

Garlett and Stretch have to start to wake up and really take charge. They're not pushing themselves hard enough.

Oscar Baker seems another goer like Spargo.

time now early season to do this and see what we have to work with before the half way mark.

The extra dash will be important against the Saints, who are usually more zippy than us. Lets turn those tables.

Actually there s another thing you just inadvertently raised.

The transitioning,  now going on for the ending of Bernie, Lew, Pedo, Jones, and Garlett.

Yes I think you could be right with Tim Smith and Wagner, otherwise Joel Smith

B: J.SMITH, O.MCDONALD, JETTA

HB: HIBBERD, LEVER, J.LEWIS

C : HARMES, OLIVER, HUNT

HF: HANNAN, T.MCDONALD, SPARGO

F: MELKSHAM, HOGAN, FRITSCH

FOLL: GAWN, BRAWSHAW, JONES

IC: VINCE, NEAL-BULLEN, TYSON, T.SMITH

EMERG: WEIDEMAN

Petracca looks unlikely and Salem is out.

Wagner is a spud so I would rather see J.Smith in the side.

T.Smith in for Weideman, Weideman to replace Hogan if he doesn't get up but I expect Hogan to play.

Problem is Salem played half back on the weekend. So you'd have to move Brayshaw to half back or the wing and Tyson on ball. That's a lot of shuffling.

Haven't seen the game and didn't realise that Salem played HBF. I've also read on here somewhere that Brayshaw played better once he was placed on-ball, so I imagine it might be preferable to leave him in the middle. In essence we need 5 small defenders. Could that group be Jetta, Hunt, Hibberd, Vince and Lewis?

There really isn't too much that appeals to me from Casey.

Weideman didn't really do enough to justify another game. Took some nice marks late in the game but gave us nothing for the first 3 quarters. Ideally, Garlett would be playing better and we would just swap those two. As hot and cold and frustrating as he is, I think we need Garlett to compete with the best teams. If Hogan doesn't come up, I would prefer to replace him with a small.

ANB was very poor, but with Petracca unlikely he will probably keep his spot.

Wagner is the logical inclusion for Salem.

Likely changes

In: Wagner

Out: Salem

My preferred changes

In: Wagner, Garlett

Out: Salem, Weideman

It's either Weid or Pedersen and I think that die has been cast well and truly for the forthcoming couple of matches.

He gets the next 3 to show us something.

Would love to see some better positioning and more playing in front than he displayed against Essendon.

It would be great to give OkBaker a run....he does seem to be a goer and would probably relish the opportunity.

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh
