Slobbo on twitter saying Daniher might be a late out.

An infected self inflicted dog bite is a possible reason for his out.

If Daniher is a late out then it will be Essendons worst side they’ve put out all year and all the planets will be aligned to ensure an emphatic victory for them.

brings back memories of 2016...  how did we lose that one !!

In the corresponding game last year,if I recall correctly watts kicked 4, petracca kicked 3 or 4, Garlett 3 and hannan 2. Only one of those guys is playing today.

Concerned about our ability to kick a big enough score today

Interesting inclusion with Spargo.

Goodwin likes his aggression. When a little man plays with aggression his teammates are going to have to stand tall.

This is a good selection.

I will be at the gym from about 1 (2 your time) so will catch the first half.

Now I've calmed down a bit, I think there were some positives we could take from last week.

It's clear the issue is confidence and how that detracts from employing an effective game plan.

While the Dons will not lie down, my feeling is they are in a similar boat to us. They have talent but they are well down on confidence.

This is a tough match to pick. I picked the Hawks and Tiges to roll us and thought we would get past the Lions and Roos.i don't approach this one with any confidence to pick a winner.

I think we win by 8 points in a game which will be pig dog ugly considering the 5 day turn around.

Burning question for the day - will it be Daniher or Stringer that we play back into form?

Stringer.

Mostly because he is a s*** bloke and the footy gods decree that we be the ones who usually let types like him have crackers (see Mitch Robinson).

We’ll win, Goodwin is just trickin’ us

does anyone remember the season that the crows were mediocre, few wins and losses and inconsistent then one week they flicked the switch and started scoring 25 goals a game? Think Craig was coach and Goodwin was playing, maybe around 2003-2006? Anyway, would love to see that happen to dees!

Is anyone actually going other than the cheer squad?

Normally this is a game eldest lad and I attend. He's a Bomber... :(

Even he can't get interested.

I'm stoked to see what Tom McDonald back in our side does for how we set up. I think we'll be much more calm as we move our ball to goal.

I like that we have three genuine marking forward options.

    HIGHLIGHTS/LOWLIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Melbourne traveled across the continent to take on the Fremantle Dockers in sweltering conditions at Mandurah south of Perth in a game that delivered the club both its highlight and its lowlight in the first minute.  But first, let’s start by doing away with the usual cliches used in connection with the game. It was just a practice match and the result didn’t matter. Bad kicking is bad football. The game was played in severe heat, the swirly breeze played havoc with both teams resulting in

A couple of Demonland Trackwatchers headed down to Gosch's Paddock to bring you their observations from today's training session before the Demons head off to Perth for their final Practice Match. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Beautiful morning, not much wind, more than a couple of dozen spectators.  The players were up and about, boisterous and having fun. THE ACCIDENTAL DEMONS by The Oracle

In the space of eight days, the Melbourne Football Club’s plans for the coming year were turned upside down by two season-ending injuries to players who were contending strongly for places in its opening round match against the GWS Giants. Shane McAdam was first player to go down with injury when he ruptured an Achilles tendon at Friday afternoon training, a week before the cut-off date for the AFL’s pre-season supplemental selection period (“SSP”). McAdam was beginning to get some real mom

RETURN TO NORMAL by Whispering Jack

One of my prized possessions is a framed, autographed guernsey bearing the number 31 worn by my childhood hero, Melbourne’s champion six time premiership player Ronald Dale Barassi who passed away on 16 September 2023, aged 87. The former captain who went on to a successful coaching career, mainly with other clubs, came back to the fold in his later years as a staunch Demon supporter who often sat across the way from me in the Northern Stand of the MCG cheering on the team. Barassi died the
