  1. They lost Darcy for 2 and a half quarters, meaning they also lost Jackson from the forward line. On top of that their leading goalkicker going into this game in Walters was also out. It's not a positive that bringing in our two injured players would get us over the line vs another team missing two key players.
  2. did our supporter base actually cheer him or did the freo crowd just over power us. so embarrassing that a side that just lost by 100+ to the bottom team on the ladder can still have 10k more fans rock up than us
  3. Just had a look. They have jaeger on there for 2023 but he definitely signed a 4 year deal. I wonder if they're not making it public because of the scrutiny. Seems very weird to lure over such a high profile, expensive recruit and not know how many years its for. And when they asked him during his press conference and he deflected it onto his management. Just seems very strange.
  4. Think it's mostly because he's a key forward from WA who was a huge dockers supporter. There were rumours of him being a flight risk when he was drafted.
  5. Saw somewhere that fremantle tried very hard to trade up in 2019 to get him. Means they would have missed out on Young and Serong. Now they have all three.
  6. “I wasn’t homesick, but it has been hard to get home with COVID happening. I missed my family because it was hard to get flights. Just really happy to be back home and in a familiar spot.” Wasn't homesick. Covid isn't an excuse anymore. Just say you left bc you got offered crazy money to play for you childhood team
  7. Could've got 8, Cerra --> Jackson, 2nd rounder....
  8. I think if we hadn't won the flag he would've requested the trade last year. That high from winning probably would've been greater than any desire to go home. It was during Christmas time apparently where he had the first talk with his manager where he really started considering going home.
  9. Of course they are. We literally had meetings with Grundy all throughout the season. Literally every club does that.
  10. Need to see who wrote it. I've seen his contract length/salary vary from 750k/5years to $1mil/8 years. Even today they asked him the length and he didn't answer?? Said his manager and the club would say something in the next few days
  11. My favourite thing is how him and have manager have both come out and essentially said he was never going to west Coast, meaning he just said it to make himself look good.
  12. Just listened to a radio interview. "Were you homesick" "Nah not really"
  13. Head of Player Personnel David Walls expects Jackson to be worth Fremantle’s significant investment of draft capital. “Luke has been our number one priority all year and obviously throughout the trade period,” Walls said. [...] “In his draft year, we had him rated at number one in the draft. “Even though we also picked up Hayden Young and Caleb Serong, with Luke being local, we’ve followed him for a long time going back to his juniors. [censored] hell they've been in his year since he stepped foot on a footy field. He was always going to head back sooner or later.
  14. He said "thanks to melb for letting me come home"
