Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Met Danners once while watching the old ressies playing at punt rd before a game at the G. Asked what i thought of of that days game. Spoke to me for about 5-10 minutes left, a lasting memory of what a good bloke he is even with the pressure of a game only acouple ahead.

That reminds me, I've seen Jeff White at my gym a few times. I remember a few years ago when there was some talk of him being traded to St Kilda (or maybe Collingwood) I mentioned as I walked past "thank god they didn't trade you." After the initial shock, he [censored] himself. Nice guy, and very quiet, almost shy for a man his size. Though he's a midget as far as ruckmen go, he's just enormous to any normal person. HUGE shoulders and jaw (particularly after 2005).

Just ran into Robbo tonight in Brighton, having dinner at the Dendy Deli with a beautiful blonde.

An absolutely wonderfully nice guy, which is a surprise considering his profile and reputed "ego." He noticed my demons lanyard and immediately shot me a smile. I said good luck to him as I left and patted him on the shoulder (he was sitting) and nearly broke my hand at the wrist. He's carved out of some kind of granite.

Proof positive that not ALL footballers are imbeciles. I hope I get another chance to run into him, I'll ask him more questions if I can next time.

And it's no wonder his girlfriend (assumption) is such a stunner, he's a good looking man...

Not that there's anything wrong with that....

One would hope that beautiful blonde is his wife  . They got married in the off season.

Agree that he is a champion bloke. Played a few numbers at my cousins wedding (The Russell Robertson trio) and had a smile on his face from start to finish. He seems to be a very warm and accomodationg sort of chap.

Good luck for a better 07 Robbo!!!

i had an extended relationship with MFC champion Geoff Tunbridge as my year 9, 10, 11 and 12 chemistry teacher...for those who dont know, he is a three time premiership player with the dees and played with barrassi and those champs. He also was nominated at half forward for our team of the century only to lose to Garry Lyon.

lets just say that for a chemistry teacher he was a bloody good footballer!

anyway, despite my opinion of his teaching ability, we would always have ripping chats about the dees and he would update me on what the older champs were doing whenever they met up.

dont know if anyone on this site collects autographs, but managed to find one of the few collector cards made of Mr. T and got it signed in class...was pretty embarrassed to have his younger photo (with red hair) shown in class...his hair is now distinctly white in his mid-60s i think!

The modern day players have always been great and up for a chat when ive bumped into them...lets hope they remain humble after winning a few flags!

I bumped into Danny Hughes at Half Moon (a quiet Brighton night spot) a couple of months back and tried to start up a conversation about how he was going as i played junior footy against him. He wouldnt give me the time of day and was nothing short of arrogant in his dealings with me. I was just after a quick yarn, to wish him the best with the season and that i thought he could crack a game but he was far too interesting in chasing tail than talking to a loyal supporter.

Just have a think about who is cheering your name Danny and give us a quick and simple hello to keep the members happy.

Brad Green & Cam Bruce used to frequent a few of the establishments in Launceston this was before a lot of people knew who Brucey was especially in Tassie. Brucey was an exceptionally nice guy and Greeny was pretty popular with the local buzzards (girls). Brad was sort of seeing a girl I went to school with for a while, Vanessa L, who last I knew was going out with Petifer from Richmond. Vanessa used to rave about what a nice guy Brucey was all the time.

I have known Adem Yze since he was about 12 - having played football with his father and cricket with Adem and his 2 brothers.

A couple of years ago - my then 6 yo son won a newspaper comp to go into the rooms after training and meet the players.

I was most impressed by Brad Green and Cameron Bruce - probably the two I would have picked to be "up themselves" the most were the best of the group by a mile. Greeny sat and chatted for 15 minutes or so. All were very got go my son including the coach.

Always good news to hear Col's at the radiologist I think not.

There's a serious possibility that he'll be lucky to reach 50 games if that.

He's been hit hard with the injury stick. I'm getting concerned right now.

this was last year about mid year and after that i think he was out for 4 wks with rib issues

Not sure how I stumbled upon this. Makes me want to cry. Jimmy, Troy, no shortage of tragedy. Really hope this is our year.

At the Shanghai, China game, I got to meet and chat with, at various times during the day, Lynden Dunn, Aaron Davey, Max Walker and David Neitz. A nice bunch of people.

I was fortunate enough to be on first name basis with Robby Flower, though we really only met a handful of times.

He was a courteous and gentle man…the most unlikely looking football genius you could ever meet.

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

    OOZEE by The Oracle

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh
