  1. i was there too, and endorse everything that has been written. they did some sort of endurance exercise as well, in two groups, some sort of elimination arrangement and "nugget "outlasted everyone else, with" the master" coming in 2nd. brockie came off a few times for what appeared to be toilet breaks, and appeared to have some sort of monitor around his neck, or on his back, as i saw a girl adjust it for him and it wasnt just a jumper tag from where i was sitting. i wouldnt get too carried away, but in my heart of hearts, i do think we will be a lot more competetive this year. in relation to training times , i had difficulty locating them on the mfc website, so i googled casy fields. no problems
  2. did anyone else notice the barassi basher on tv news. he was a hawk supporter, sporting a hawks cap. animal.
  3. i,m 56,and have been barracking for as long as my call sign suggests. vincehotboy - you are a [censored]
  4. move on dazzle;does the term "take the good with the bad" mean anything to you; i dont comment much on here but i read with interest, and frankly i cant believe the negativity i come across.not just you, but in quite a general sense wake up to yourselves or wear another colour and sing a different song, and FFS keep your thoughts to your self - the real supporters arent interested in your negative ramblings, and believe me , we are just as disappointed have some faith
  5. [Jack Grimes are also not very complimentary. You'd think they could have got something better. hey, are you sure that is jack grimes? it looks like prince harry. and we had better change chip frawley to chips frawley; hes got more chins than a chinese phonebook
  6. mousey, i was being a smartarse. the old nursery rhyme - 3 blind mice, see how they run[ your name is mousey, you,ve got 2 brothers ......] i did mean it when i said its good to feel the enthusiasm, and by the looks of it, everyone else feels the same. maintain it as we would be lost without it see you at the footy
  7. good to feel the enthusiasm mousey. by the way, are you and your brothers optically challenged? with a noticeable running gait? just curious
  8. i dont want this to go any further than we demon fans, but i have it on good authority that we are head hunting Chopper Read for our c e o . he has a reputation for getting things done, and when he talks, people listen. p.s. i got this from a reliable source
  9. he is probably still growing anyway, but a bit light isnt he?
  10. there will be chinese global companies trying to get a foothold into the melb/vic/aust. market look at emirates and the filth. who had heard of emirates 10 yrs ago? they have built their brand on the back of football and racing
  11. the whole thing - china, leadership, logo - sounds really positive to me, and fills me with optimism really looking forward to the next couple of years
  12. i would have thought that anyone who bought the "age" on any day would be bracing themselves for disappointment
  13. bazza, see my post in "thankyou and goodbye" thread is not the board it was the coach, plus a combination of mitigating circumstances eg. injuries
  14. fact 1 - we dont know it was a text message fact 2 - your spray at the start suggests you have already gone off the deep end i understand your frustration, but at this point, we need to look for any positives, miniscule though they may be; this is not the time to " eat our own ", but a time to pull together. i felt your post was extremely negative and angry [again, we all understand and share the frustration ], but we are not privy to the inner workings and thought processes of the coaching and football departments or indeed even know of niggling injuries that may affect productivity on the field on a week to week basis. the hunger and desire that is not evident on a consistent basis, the lack of fundamental [ for afl players ] skills that is evident on a consistent basis are the pressing problems; there is no point looking for kpp,s , good draft picks etc. if they come into a team where the basics are missing - we will just bring them down. a coach who can rekindle or motivate hunger and desire to win or to at least do their best, and ensure that practised skills are evident when it counts - on game day - should be our priority. i dont think daniher did that for us. hopefully the club is now going through the " processes " that will make this happen.
  15. hey bazza, why dont we gather the facts first eh? then you can go off the deep end
  16. I like your reviews Scoop, and always look forward to them. I would like to comment on Brock McLean; I think he must still be injured, at any rate, not 100% fit. He gets caught more often than he should, and he appeared to give up on what should have been a tackle (Robbo did the same thing) and he doesn't get in and under like he used to (it was great to see Sylvia back in that role).
  17. great work there w.j. the last quarter was what football is all about. notwithstanding that effort , if we had won the game , it would have been a travesty really as we were the team that lowered the tone skills wise. what has happened to our skills? they were there in the main last season; do skills desert you or are they attitude driven?did the players expect to win even. i sell jewellery for a livng and if my sales staff dont perform ie dont reach their targets for the week, its got nothing to do with lack of skills or training, its lack of hunger and desire these guys are cruising! forget about the game plan or lack thereof - this wont affect basic skills or poor decision making. very very frustrating; the last quarter will probably get me back to next weeks game though
  18. i,m not into daniher bashing either, but it is frustrating that the players who dont deliver on a regular basis dont appear to be getting disciplined for it - these guys get paid bloody good money. at the moment i,m thinking of yze [who i love as a player]. do any of us remember grgich?he went to geelong; that was a happy day, he used to drive me crazy but continued to be named seemingly week after week
  19. 100% with you occo. the ruck division was my 2nd area of concern
  20. what are we going to do about our backline?another thread has already alluded to it - we cannot win a premiership with our current crop of backline players. is there anyone on the horizon? there seems to be more talent up forward, maybe we should move neitz to full back, we know he can be effective there . forwards and midfield, no worries really, the talent is there, they just have to gel. but the backline, geez, i just cant see it
  21. i have joined the afl tjis year, nominating mfc as my club.as i understand it, they get about $117.00, but does it count as membership? anybody know?
