Yup.  Toes can be very tricky to get right and strangely debilitating when injured.  Frost and Sandilands have both missed seasons with toe injuries and Bernie last year was a shadow of himself whilst playing with an injured toe.

Take the time.  Get it right.

Yup

We don't NEED TMc right now, with our backups.

But We do NEED TMc late in the season, fully fit; heading towards September, Springtime footy.

Its a must, we need his marking power & his running power, to cover the miles.

I don't care if he misses the next 6 weeks, as long as we get him right and in Full running fitness, come the half way mark.

He is now one of our major keys to any success we might experience, come finals.

Plus it is meant to be wet on Sunday so as long as our forwards chase and tackle we should be fine.

50% chance of a shower, chiefly in the morning, total rainfall 1-2mm.

By 3.20 it will hardly be "wet".

Sounds like the rectus femoris group for Oliver,

I thought he was in the rehab group.

Is the rectus femoris group a sub-group to the rehab group.

Does he have to get out of the rectus femoris group into the rehab group then from there back into the main group. Sounds a long way off to me. Big doubt for Sunday.

Just as long as he's not in the rectus season group.

Sounds like a real pain in the rectus...!

Sounds like the rectus femoris group for Oliver, at the front of the thigh, attaching around the knee and upper tibia. One related connector is across the top edge of the patella (kneecap) and suspiciously, this may be the site of discomfort. Should be right to play in he was moving freely at this point. Agree about Oliver's importance as a player as he gets the ball out or to a teammate at most contests.

Where is the, 'rectus femoris' ?

Sounds like a lingering injury?

But is Brayshaw a certainty if he's available?

With Viney out we don't have 7 other midfielders better - Oliver, Petracca, Jones, Tyson, Salem, Harmes. A fit and healthy Gus is next ahead of Stretch and Maynard.

The rectus is quite close to the dardenells, where my great uncle was shot in WW1. He couldn't sit down for a month, much less play footy.

You've been reading too much Tristram Shandy.

I questioned this after JLT1 but I think his form in the 2nd game ensured he will play round 1.

Yes, I agree mate! Just showed a knack of doing the little things last game and showed he could fit in the backs, middle, or the forwards with his couple of snags at the end

IMO, Harmes' form might be a turning point in the Viney saga. He needs the imposed 'leash' to be taken off, that's all, as Harmes does surprising things unexpectedly and I'd consider that he has much more of these 'moments' held in abeyance. He is relatively quick, explosive, tough as nails - and very much a 'keen' team member - with most of the goods to drive the ball and teammates into positive play. And, of course, he is another year wiser.

If anyone is heading down to training today we'd appreciated a training report including who is in the rehab group. Thanking you in advance.

A detailed report on Viney would be ideal. Is he walking? Did he run? Did he wear footy boots or just runners? Is he alive? All of these things need to be answered or the site may crash again.....

    CROSSROADS by The Oracle

Melbourne stands at the crossroads.  Sunday’s game against the West Coast Eagles who have not met the Demons at the MCG in more than ten years, is a make or break for the club’s finals aspirations.  That proposition is self-evident since every other team the club will be opposed to over the next eight weeks of footy is a prospective 2024 finalist. To add to this perspective is the fact that while the Demons are now in twelfth position on the AFL table, they are only a game and a half b

    DELUGE by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons overcame their inaccuracy and the wet inhospitable conditions to overrun the lowly Northern Bullants at Genis Steel Oval in Cramer Street, Preston on Saturday. It was an eerie feeling entering the ground that in the past hosted many VFA/VFL greats of the past including the legendary Roy Cazaly. The cold and drizzly rain and the sparse crowd were enough to make one want to escape to the nearby Preston Market and hang out there for the afternoon. In the event, the fans

    INSANITY by Whispering Jack

Somehow, the Melbourne Football Club managed it twice in the course of a week. Coach Simon Goodwin admitted it in his press conference after the loss against the Brisbane Lions in a game where his team held a four goal lead in the third term:   "In reality we went a bit safe. Big occasion, a lot of young players playing. We probably just went into our shell a bit. "There's a bit to unpack in that last quarter … whether we go into our shells a bit late in the game."   Well

    UNBACKABLE by The Oracle

They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi
