I edited my post as originally had one year then 2 forgot to put either side of the ban,  his year before the ban was ordinary,  and at his age a hip injury is a danger, my opinion still stands, you can disagree,.

Don't need to read the article, if FD go with him, will be disappointed

Of course I edited my post 2 minutes before you posted but you were too busy readying a personal attack to notice, great input into the topic

I was in two minds but a definite yes from me

I am in the why not/ depth camp. Can he pinch hit in the ruck?

only 7 hit outs over 6 seasons suggests not, Robbie.

Brendan McCartney and he had a great relationship given he walked out on the Dons to join Macca when things were pretty good for him at Essendon.

I wouldn't be too interested in having him as a 3rd tall flanker. We just traded out one of them who's a far better ball user and I like the idea of going a bit smaller and playing guys who tackle and pressure ie. a Harmes, Vanders or maybe Smith. Plus Melksham seems pretty good as a mid sized half forward, if smaller than a Crameri type.

If we do sign him I'd have a little bit of interest in him if he got super fit and came in to the side as a wingman. His overhead ability, pace and aggressive style would give us something on a wing if his body has anything left.

I really don't know why I'm bothering as you've already admitted you don't care to read and learn prior to posting.

Crameri's 2015 was pretty consistent with his previous years.

It's his lack of forward pressure that I am concerned with, I have acquaintances who are both Essendon and Bulldog supporters, same opinion, good mark and goal kicker but no forward pressure, Menzel at Geelong is exactly the same, it is a mandatory requirement these days

Also 29, coming off a serious hip injury

4 list spots and 4 draft picks. Won't happen

Delisted free agency seems the poor mans trade week now.

Cloke just got a pay out. Lindsay Thomas is apparently in negotiations to get paid out and join Port. Other teams around the league are making late changes before the draft.

I know all our players are contracted so we can't just free a list spot up but it might be that we are in negotiations to pay someone out a percentage of their wage to have them either be delisted / be delisted and picked up by another club. I haven't heard anything about this but the obvious one would be chopping Kent for a portion of his wage for him to join a WA club.

So we chop Kent, who gets constantly criticised on here for his lack of forward pressure, to bring in Crameri who has same reputation?

Given that he was a high profile transfer to the Dogs who no longer want him and one assumes he was shopped around during trade week the apparent AFL consensus would be .... No

The only reason you might take him is to provide depth via Casey and act as a mentor to Weideman. Given that would be low dollars/profile I could not see him accepting that role.

I know he was very confident of another contract with the Bulldogs a few months ago. He told his player manager to organise a completely performances based contract because he was confident he was over the injuries and ready to role.

source - the horses mouth

I'd take him.

Be a yes from me. Probably just handy depth, but might provide good competition for spots between Kent, Hannan, Harmes et al.

? pretty good, like a one year drug ban and a damaged reputation?  What would bad look like?

Not a fan myself, good when he's on but those games are few and far between.

About as good a kick at goal as Cloke, in other words a wing and a prayer...

Only as a Rookie, it puts more onus on him to do a Jetta and achieve the standard required for a spot on the primary list.

or get him to Casey, and tell him it's a trial for a contract the following year!!!

Depth, list clogger?

Here is a conservative list of who can play fwd and who kicked goals las year

Hogan, Weed, Tommy Mc, Hannan, Bugg, Tim Smith, Harmes, Garlett, ANB, Kent, Trac, Melksham, Gawn, Pedersen

We also have AVB coming back

That's 15 players on the list and we want to add a 29 yr old coming off a serious hip injury who has had 2 years out of the game

I have complete faith in the FD, but if this happened I would begin to waver

His last 2 years either side of the ban, have been abysmal, the game has gone past him, he wouldn't know forward pressure if it came and bit him on the arse

Think I agree Saty and Tim Smith is really that position ( depth forward ) and bigger and younger.

We can do better with our vacant  spots on the list.

No. Not unlike Pedo IMO w/o Pedo's versatility. I'd rather the likes of Joel Smith,  Keilty, or Tim Smith be given game time (possibly with the latter two pinch hitting in the ruck).

Only if he is a better kick than Watts...

I don't know if he party's as hard though..

I don't think we will pick him up as a DFA or in the draft, but if he is still around come rookie draft time, then we might potentially think about brining him in as depth.

But as others have said, he would be in direct competition with a younger Tim Smith, so I would probably rather just give Tim that chance.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
