Where? They haven't mentioned it on TR that I know of?

It was sort of mentioned, something like Port being the last man standing.

I hope Port can de-Melbournise Watts as they did the Toump.

You can bet that Der-wayne will label Jack the recruit of the off season in the pre season comp games.

If you accept pick 31 for Jack you are as crazy as the MFC and Goodwin. Gee, this club lacks nouse. Pick 31, unknown and a lowly draft pick. Complete pig in a poke situation. Have the premiership Port. We are glad to help your cause at our expense! How do they do it? Three class players and we can only land one. They must have something enticing. Probably the location.

You can always switch allegiance to that marvellously impressive outfit. It's a choice available to you at any time.

I would be very tempted jumbo after this act of complete dumbness. Im appalled Goodwin.

If you haven't been stabbing Goodwin in the back for the past 200 pages, Bobby, I don't think anyone has. :P

Let's be honest, club wanted him out, but we have seriously stuffed this up and ended up with very little for a contracted player, who 12 months ago was being looked at by plenty of clubs aND had serious trade value. We end up with another rubbish pick that will yield some kid who is 5 years away from making any impact in the AFL, I'd any at all.

It will be a little sad to see him go, and I genuinely hope he can do well, but...

If the options are a) trade a largely underwhelming Jack Watts this year, b) lose one of our young guns, like a Petracca, next year, or even c) not be able to bring in a genuine A grade defender in Lever - then I'm sorry Jack, but it's time to go.

Mahoney says it isn't salary cap related, but it almost certainly is (and he would be foolish to publicly admit we will be stretched next year).

Now we can whinge about the pick we accept for him.

I'm hoping ETtradebreaker will provide an adequate distraction...

I'm near convinced it has something to do with also getting back into the first rounder by trading with one of the academy clubs. Watch this space.

Surely the amount of interest shown in Watts from Watts, confirms why we are getting rid of him

The coach wasn't exactly private about it either. The whole situation has gone from a mess to a shamozzle.

When you have barracked and loved Melbourne FC for as long as I have mate you don't for one millisecond think of deserting them. I am just so disgusted with the alleged powers to be in the club. I will still love the players and team ON THE FIELD forever. Not the insiders though at this stage. I feel a bit like I did when they sacked Norm Smith many moons ago.

Let the wrist cutting commence.

At least its done. he's nominated now and it'll get done fairly quickly.

Jack can move on and hopefully the supporters can too.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
