Well it would seem that we may end up doing that rumored deal with the pies.

Pick 10 and Watts for their pick 6. Then on trade pick 6 and a shuffle of later picks to the crows for Lever.

If that's what has to happen, then so be it .. But I shudder at the thought of seeing Watts in black and white.

you'd have to be crazy to that deal unless we need salary cap room

Please remember the unofficial DL code of conduct relating to rumours: state source (or if not possible some indication of where the said rumour has come from and its reliability) or if no source making it clear it is just a thought bubble.

So to adhere to the code of conduct  this post might read:

'Well it would seem that we may end up doing that rumored deal with the pies according to his mother who i work with'

'Well it would seem that we may end up doing that rumored deal with the pies according to some fella i met at flinders street station last sat morning at 3:40am after a big night in the city'

'Well it would seem that we may end up doing that rumored deal with the pies according to a dream i had last night'

I'm open to trading, Watts.

But..

Waldron just said on sen that Watts is definitely gone and a Hogan trade is still a possibility and would be in the best interests for both parties.

Geez a forward line without watts and hogan would be interesting and by interesting I mean crap

I would not take anything from Waldron never got a trade rumor Right once, why would hogan go home now, he was going home a lot before because his dad was sick, now that he has passed that need is no longer there, why is it best for hogan to go home, blind Freddy can see west coast heading for the cliff and Fremantle is a long way off, we are on the up fun times ahead. Waldron is the biggest guesser of all time, worse then purple

So what do people think if we lose both Hogan and Watts? Who do we get? How do we improve our forward line? What would freo offer up that we can get? I can't see Weid replacing Hogan and we need some ready to go forwards.

Always has been a [censored]

If Waldren read what was said about certain things eight months and two (wahoo) weeks ago i can understand why.........

Both Watts and Hogan will be playing for the MFC next year. All this talk is bulltish.

As I've said before Waldren makes c#%^ up. He said Jesse is going home and that Freo and these were his words, Freo are into him. Jesse is a Demon player and the same goes for Watts. This guy is a troll do not believe him.

So far this year he's said (in no particular order):

  • Casboult to the Tigs
  • Kelly to Nth
  • Cox to Brissy
  • Lever to Pies
  • Ablett to retire rather than try to get back to Geelong

All of these he has said will definitely happen. Maybe he'll get one right one day, but his track record says otherwise.

Resigned to Watts going, however we are likely to get screwed on any deal which makes me wonder what is the point.

Hogan is another story. I will be apoplectic if he leaves. Waldron is tugging himself if he believes it would be to the benefit of both parties. It would be a massive kick in the guts to us and I think Hoges has a great support network at the Club, which I believe he would still need. Stability, not further change, is likely to be in his best interest.

The pox on his thread and this time of year.

No info, no crystal balls.  I think Watts adds more value to us than in a trade.  I see that as the list improves, it will lift Watts.  Watts will not be one of the 'lifters', but he will make the team even better.  It is like a multiplier.  I would not trade him for this reason.  WTF with Hogan??  That sounds like horse-shyte.  The WA clubs can ask after him (Conversation: "Is he available?" - "No" - "OK").  We would not look to trade him unless the truck backed up overflowing with goodies.

This sounds like complete carp.  The club, the players and their managers are all silent on the issue and it is only tossers in the media trying to drum up interest in bottom-feeding shows like Bartlett's swill that drive this.

Can we have an overview of [censored] commentator and their 'success' in leaking or breaking a story?  Suggest that they are all actually batting well below chance.  May as well consult the horoscope.  This thread is about trade rumors, not 'trade guesses pulled out of a greased and overused anus' that these idiots are proposing.  More rumors, (even from Juddy's Grandma!) please!

I simply cannot understand this apparent belief that Watts is gone.  I think it can only result from a view that if you hear something often enough then it must be true,

I think here as in the "to trade Watts or not to trade Watts" thread,  the "move Watts on" agenda is being pushed by the real minority (<30% when I last looked) who seem to believe he is gone (and probably wish for him to go).

Sorry fella's.  At least you will have someone to blame next year again so you can stop putting the older co-captain in his place already.

Why does everyone think Waldron is a troll? He probably knows a lot of what goes on. He probably knows about the same as most every other media footy pundit.

Posted

I would also be shocked if he was traded, considering his current market value is minimal.

If he rekindle the first half of this years form (for which there is no reason why he cant) then he is a keeper.

Dunn, Howe and now Watts.....sure are suckers for punishment.....fair payback for Dawes i guess.......(Jack would smash it in the black and white) at least for half a season.

Exactly what I was thinking when I heard it.

Maybe cause he goes home for personal reasons and we get an unbelievable trade in our favour for once.

If so, I like these fantasy scenario's below ?

I sit half a world away from the Melbourne Football Club but regularly exchange emails with a mate of mine that is much closer to the club. The latest mail says that Hogan is no chance to leave the club at this stage or in the foreseeable future. Watts is a different story. Discussion on a possible trade will only be entertained if we get value for him. Currently, MFC would prefer to keep him on the list and see how he responds.

MFC will look to get in Lever plus a 23-25yo mid to build the list for a real tilt at the flag over the next 4-5 years.

Take this in any way you wish and keep in mind this is a trade rumours board and that is exactly what this is, a rumour.

That would be one of the worst deals of all time - trade a seasoned AFL footballer who has his flaws but arguably one of our most skilled players to the filth for an upgrade of 4 picks in the Lucky Dip they call the National draft. Then we flip that plus something to Adelaide for a bloke who just polled the same votes in the Brownlow as Oscar Mac and as far as I'm concerned is not a KPD - Wow I just give up

THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
