You have got to be kidding about that Roos part.

Where would we be without him coming on board? Talk about changing the culture... Goodwin is riding Roos' coattails.

Can't help but read your comments  about Jack Watts how overrated you think he is ???????????? HMMMMMM

Obviously you don't go to games or maybe you listen to the Watts critics. Grumpy o m.

Huh ? I think you need to read his posts again, RPFC has not criticised Watts, more the opposite

Port have some okay outside runners that may be worth a look.

I wonder if they'd package up jake Neade and Sam grey for us?

Let's throw up wines and Ryder for fun

Aaron Hall is definitely not the worst player out of that trio, and he'd be a good get for us. Exactly what we need - quick, finds plenty of the ball and is damaging on the scoreboard. Last year he averaged 530m gained per game and 28 disposals - that's huge. This year he averaged 495m per game.

I'd love to see Hall at the Dees.

I agree - really good player. Would suit our needs.

Maybe l misread it. However the day comes that Jack does leave, the Watts critics will regret it and the simple minded ones that bag him constantly won't know what to do with themselves.

I'm starting to get concerned with the amount of Hogan to Freo rumours that keep surfacing. Where there is smoke there is fire. Many website and papers coming out this rumour from a similar angle.

How is that different from any other season?

We will have to put up with the same rubbish every year.

There's nothing in the Hogan rumours.

There's nothing in the club divided rumors either. And let's not forget that for Roos' last game as coach, he dropped Watts.

Where there's smoke there's some idiot smoking.  And we're not talking tobacco.

Club divided? Give me a break! A difference of opinion about a player....hardly any sort of deep rift or division....

It was all started by swyl going off on a tangent, talk about slippery slope syndrome!

Paul Roos snapped up Lumumba in an instant and played Dawes whenever fit despite some serious on-field short-comings. He's keen on certain personalities and has his blind-spots like anyone else.

Agreed.

Progress is built on debate not on back slapping apologism.

Without enraging the masses IF Jessie left we would no doubt be more than adequately compensated.  I don't think that's going to be the case with Watts unfortunately.  Not comparing either players or their worth, but trading is trading and football is a business.  If you are adequately compensated,  maybe even come out in front, all is well.  On the other hand........

This is my go at "inside knowledge."

Prior to the commencement of the round 23 game I had a chat with and for privacy reasons let's call him " ball boy" cause that's what he actually does, you know  the guy that kicks the ball back to the players in their muck around warm-up before the main one and he told me Jesse is going nowhere and scoffed at all the rumours.

I'm hanging my hat on that even though he told me we would win that day.

Whilst those on the ground at Melbourne might well be right in belief tbat Jesse is unlikely to go anywhere it's only what they know.

Who knows whats in the air ,sts, or what plans are unhatching.

Only when trade week finishes on that 2.00pm gong and Hogan is still a Dee can anyone be 100% certain.

Thats my take. I assume Nothing, anymore. It's 21c Footy.

So you really think a club pushing for finals would actually trade 2 of their best tall forwards in 1 trade period.

Hogan going simply is not happening, and if there was a slight chance of it happening we would not be testing the waters with trading Watts.

The MFC supporters would go ballistic if we lost both those boys as its pretty much time to shut up shop for another 3 year rebuild.

Just had a chat with Dr.Turf about the whole Watts trade at work. Said he spoke to Rocket Eade and there are big rumblings about Hogan involved in a 4 way trade with Freo/Carlton/Adelaide/Melbourne. In summary, Hogan to Freo Lever to Dees.

He said he hopes not, but that's what he heard.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
